1 Software Release Note for Capsat Manager The information in this document applies to: Capsat Manager Capsat Gateway This document describes all changes in prior and current version with reference numbers/text to T&T KPR-database. Version 3.8 VERY IMPORTANT UPGRADE INFORMATION! Capsat Manager 3.8 is a new, clean installation of the Capsat Manager software. To preserve your data from a previous installation, make sure you follow these steps: 1 ) Close all running instances of Capsat Manager and Capsat Gateway. 2 ) Make a copy of your Capsat.mdb database file located in the Gateway directory. ( For example C:\Program Files\Thrane & Thrane\Gateway ). 3 ) Write down your Capsat Gateway settings for: Navigation Bar->Devices->mail slot->properties. File->Settings. File->Socket Settings. 4 ) From the control panel, choose Add/Remove Programs and remove the existing Capsat Manager installation. 5 ) Install Capsat Manager ) After installation, copy the database file you made a copy of in step 1, back to the Gateway directory, overwriting the existing file. 7 ) Start Capsat Gateway before starting Capsat Manager.. NOTE! If upgrading from the older Capsat Manager 3.0, please use the Capsat Database Converter (DbaseCnv.exe) to convert the your old Capsat database 3.0 to Capsat database 3.6. Restarting Capsat Manager will then automatically upgrade Capsat database 3.6 to 3.8. If these steps are not followed, the existing database will be deleted when uninstalling the previous version of Capsat Manager. Denmark Page 1

2 Changes: E0023: ICON not updated when pos rx'ed while waiting for ACK This error is no longer existing after C0028 has been solved. E0026: Time of position is shown as UTC All timestamps are now stored in database as UTC time and converted to/from local time when used in UI. The local time always follows the Time Zone setting in windows Date/Time Properties. C0028: CM request acknowledgement on demand poll Request for acknowledgement on demand polls has been removed, because the returned position report itself is an acknowledgement. C0029: Display all the content of the positionreports including userstrings. The detailed view in history property page now supports decoding of userstrings. C0034: More/Full information in File->Activity-log. Position is now shown in the following format. Eg. N55 39'12" E12 22'53". E0038: Support for UserID and Password in body of poll. For user which is not domain registered to a LES, the Capsat Manager now supports attachment of "UserID" and "Password", when sending polls. E0042: Support for "server requires authentication" Capsat Gateway now supports SMTP server authentication using authentication with LOGIN, PLAIN and CRAM-MD5. C0043: Pass mobile number when calling EXE program Capsat Manager now supports parameter parsing to external user program, which is executed whenever the event happens. The following 5 parameters will be passed: <MES Number> <MES Name> <UTC Date> <UTC Time> <Event type>. C0044: Support for one packet position report Now supporting the cheaper position reporting where only position and time are transmitted. Land Mobile and Maritime category position reports without speed and course is handled exactly as full land mobile position reports, where speed and course equals zero. E0045: Gateway Account password is shown in plain text. All password characters now displayed as *. C0064: Runtime database upgrade in CM & GW Automatic upgrade supported of database version 3.6 or newer. C0068: Message box does not have a horizontal scroll bar. Horizontal scroll-bar added to Inbox, Outbox and Sent Items property pages. Denmark Page 2

3 C0071: Clients would prefer latest Message & detailed Position reports to be displayed on top. All entries in list of Historical received reports, Message Inbox and Sent Items is now sorted with the latest entry on top most position. C0079: Password changed in Capsat database. Password for opening the access-database has been changed. C0084: Gateway renamed to Capsat Gateway. Other changes without reference to T&T KPR database: All password editfield display "****" as described in E0045 Version text removed from windows title in CM and GW About dialog updated (uses same layout) Tooltips now shown on all toolbars. 4 Database Upgrade : Capsat databases used in earlier Capsat Manager version are automatically upgraded, when starting Capsat Manager or Capsat Gateway. 1. Start-up Capsat Manager. The following dialog is displayed after the database has been upgraded 2. Press OK and Capsat Manager/Gateway continues to load. If the Capsat database was upgraded, while starting Capsat Gateway, then start-up the Capsat Manager and continue as described below. 3. For all mobiles please check settings for Command set and Detailed Date, in the Member Properties dialog. 4. Upgrade / installation done. Denmark Page 4
