Draw the textbox on the slide, or double-click it. If you just double-click it, then you ll have to resize it later. 3. Start typing. 4. When you are done, just click outside the Text box area. Formatting Text If you want to increase or decrease the font size of a given text, without giving it a specific value: 1. Select the text, which you want to increase or decrease its size. 2. Click the big A button on the font toolbar to increase the size or click on the small A button on the same toolbar to decrease it. If you want to change the font color for a given text, use the coloring section on the font toolbar. 1. Highlight the text, which you want to change its color. 2. Click on the arrow next to the big A that represents the font color (next to the brush). 3. Select the desired color. Inserting a Clip Art You can insert images to your PowerPoint presentation: 1. A right pane will appear, with the Clip Art title. Near the bottom right of your screen,
2 click on the Find more at Office.com. Search for the category of the image on the website that appears. 2. The image is copied to the clipboard. 3. Go back to your slide and do a paste operation (Paste). 4. Resize the image by clicking and dragging on any of the circles that appear at the corners of the image. Insert a Music or Sound file 1. Click Insert and select the Media Clip toolbar. Select Audio and then Audio from File. 2. Go to the folder where you want to get the files from. 3. Click on the sound file. 4. Click Ok. This will insert the contents of the sound or music file into your current slide. Move and/or resize the sound icon if desired 5. There are other options that you could explore.. Setting Slide Show Transitions 1. Click the Slide Show tab. You will see all your slides on the left. 2. Click on the Set Up Slide Show on the Set Up section. 3. The Slide Set Up Task box appears. 4. In the Advance slides section, you can select if you want the transition to occur after an elapsed time, or if you want it to occur by a mouse click, or both. 6. Close the Slide Show task box when you finish.
3 Setting Slide Transition Effects 1. Click on the slide that you want to apply the transition. 2. On the Transitions to this slide, click on the one you want to use to select the transition to be applied between the previous slide, and the one you have selected. 3. Pick only one of the following files: English.mp3, Spanish.mp3, or, Japanese.mp3 and insert it below the third bulleted item of the fifth slide. These files are located in Course Materials (Blackboard). After you insert the file, select the audio icon,. Then go to the Audio Tools in the menu, and click on Playback. Be sure that in options that appear, the Start has On Click selected. 20. Spell-check your slides. 21. Save your presentation in your flash disk (drive F or E?) as SecondPresentation.pptx (you do not need to type.pptx, if you choose to save as a PowerPoint 2010 Presentation file). Save it inside your PowerPoint folder. Upload it also to Canvas. 22. To print preview your slides; click on the Print section of the File Menu, but check the Pure Black and White option on Color menu, located on the left pane, BEFORE you do anything else, because this will show your printout in black and white. 23. By changing the Settings of the printing, you can have a print preview of the Notes Pages. 24. Similarly you may check the print preview of the Outline view, of the Handouts with different configurations, etc.
