3 10 Draw on Slides Use Drawing Toolbar just below the View icons at the bottom left of screen. Click Autoshapes >> Select Shape - (cursor now looks like a cross-hair, instead of an I-beam) >> start where the Drawing should begin, then click, hold click and drag to where the drawing should end, release click Change Fill, Line Colour or Line Thickness by clicking other icons in Drawing Tool Bar Figure 12 (Power Point Draw Tool Bar ) 11 Use Auto Shapes Select the Shape Click on the slide Drag the mouse to draw the shape Treat like a graphic to change size Use the Draw Tool bar to change colours 12 Animate Pictures and Text (builds) Figure 13 Text can appear by the letter, word, or paragraph. 4 13 Add Transitions (between slides) Transition: A special effect used to introduce a slide during a slide show. For example, you can fade in from black or dissolve from one slide to another. You can choose the transitions you want, and you can vary the speed of each. From the Menu select Slide Show. Then Select Slide Transition (figure 15) Figure 15 Figure Use Five Screen Views Vary the view through View on the menu bar or use the shortcut icons. Located on bottom left of screen, the 5 graphic icons from left to right are: Slide View - individual slides Add or edit content or objects on an individual slide basis Outline View - content list of all slides Change content of slides, review logic of slide order, list points under headings Slide Sorter View - thumbnail sketches of all slides Move slides to desired location (click and drag ) Copy slides you like (use CTRL click and drag) Add Transitions and Builds to all slides at same time (see further on in notes) Computer Foundations ll Power Point Handout Page 4 of 9
5 14 Use Five Screen Views (continued) Notes page View - detailed notes (statistics, references, elaborate on content, etc) For your personal attention while speaking to remind you of detail info you wish to say To print and distribute to audience note: To magnify text box, increase the Zoom box (Tool bar) to at least 66% Slide Show View - show your presentation Click or use Page Down key to advance slide elements (build your points) or move to next slide. Page Up will reverse the presentation moving back through the slides. note: Esc key stops presentation; F1 reads navigation and display options. 15 More on Transitions (click Slide Sorter View) Click on desired slide to select and use menu. 6 17 Put a Footer on a slide Click View Click Header and Footer (headers don t seem to be an option) Make your selections Here is where you select for title slide or not 18 Bullets Figure 19 If you start with a bullet, type what you want. Then hit <enter>. Bullet will be there automatically.
