In Xecap100B and Xecap200B boards, display channel number can be increased by adding 24 channels. Expansion kit 24 and 32 channel expansion kit. On the other hand, Xecap50B does not support expansion kit, 16 display channels only. In addition, two boards can be used in one system for Xecap100B board. In this case, maximum 64 display channels and 16 audio channels can be supported. Nonetheless, two boards can not be used in one system for Xecap200B due to its bandwidth limit. Hardware Information 1) DIO: DIO GUIDE needs to be purchased separately for sensor input and alarm output. 2) HERA: Since Xecap series support 4 to 16 audio channels as a default, they do not support HERA board. 3) COOLING FAN: Cooling Fan is not needed for Xecap board. 13 5 ADDITIONAL OPTION FOR XECAP Channel Extension Kit (Can be used ONLY in XECAP200B or XECAP100B) Channel Expansion kit (Can be used ONLY in XECAP200B or XECAP100B) ComArt DIO Guide (Can be used in all Xecap series)

Comart s new DIO guide of DIO-0402, DIO-0404, DIO-0804 and DIO-1616 are being supported in Xecap series. Please make sure that Comart s old DIO guide named DIO-1604 does not work for Xecap series at all. If DIO-1604 is connected with Xecap series, it may damage the Xecap board connected with a DIO Pin assignments between old and new DIO guides are completely different and the way running them is different as well. The following picture describes the pin assignment of each DIO guide s terminal block: In order to use Comart s new DIO guides with Xecap series, you must provide a power adaptor to DIO guides (DC 12V& Ground). If not, they are not going to work properly. Xecap series contain RS422/485 function and you do not need any additional RS422/485 converter if you have installed any of above Comart new DIO guides. When you use only one Comart s new DIO guide, it is not able to support FULL RS422 function. It can only work for HALF RS485. In RS485 mode, the jumper setting for RS422/485 should be No. 2 (TX + RX) and that is Comart factory s default one. If you use two Comart new DIO guides in any combination as shown in the above referring to the JUMPER-PIN SETTING, then you can use FULL RS422 function. In RS 422 mode, one has to be selected as NO. 1 (TX only) and the other guide has to be selected as NO. 3 (RX only)

This combination sample in the below is DIO In order to use two Comart s new DIO guides, you must select which goes to be a master guide and a slave guide for certain. There is no priority to select a master or slave guide between models but they should not have the same master (or slave) mode

COMART USB DIO-1616 Comart DIO-1616 is an USB device that contains 16 sensor inputs & 16 alarm outputs, RS422/485 converter, and Real-Time clock. This is an independent device from DVR boards since it is a USB device. Therefore, you can use DIO-1616 not only for Xecap series but for Hicap and MIS series also. DIO 1616 LAYOUT & DESCRIPTION 1 Digital Input Port - Connect 16 sensor inputs to each port. (refer the following picture) Type: Falling Edge Detect Enable (when signal changes High to Low)

2 Communication select switch - Select full/half to set RS422/RS485 communication - If you select FULL (RS422) communication mode, you have to connect rx+, rx-, trx+(tx+), trx-(tx-) to each port. - If you select HALF (RS485) communication mode, you have to connect trx+, trx- to each port. 3 Communication Port - You can communicate with RS422/485 from PC to other devices (eg. PTZ Cameras). - Size of communication data : MAX 50 bytes - Baud rate : 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, (bps) - Parity bit : no, even, odd, mark, space (parity) 4 Digital Output Port - Connect 16 alarm outputs to each port. - Every channel is composed with 3 ports (A, B, C) and when alarm is on, A and C are connected. When alarm is off, then B and C are connected.(please refer to the following picture) 5 Power1 Port - Main power input : DC 12V, 500mA(or above) 6 USB Port - Connect USB-DIO1616 to PC (does not use +5v from USB port) 7 State LED Port - Each LED (D1, D2, D3) displays current state of USB-DIO Board * D1 Red LED ----> ON: main power is supplied successfully. D1 Red LED ----> OFF: no power, all devices do not work. (If there is no error in your adaptor, it requires A/S or repairs.)

* D2 Green LED ----> ON: indicates half communication (RS485) is set. D2 Green LED ----> OFF: indicates full communication (RS422) is set. * D3 Yellow LED ----> ON: power2 is supplied successfully. D3 Yellow LED ----> OFF: no power, sensor input and RS422/RS485 communication do not work. (If there is no error in your adaptor, it requires A/S or repairs.) 8 Security Port - You must not use this port (If you remove label (sticker) in this port, you ll not able to get A/S Service from us later on) 9 Power2 Port - Power input for sensor and transceiver part: DC 12V, 500mA(or above)

6 PC SPECIFICATION REQUIRED There are slightly different PC specifications for Xecap series depending on board types and whether or not display channel extension kits are being installed. As for the recommended PC specification, please refer to the below. Regarding the recommended CPU and RAM for each board, please refer to the information after the recommended specification. PC MOTHERBOARD Our DVR boards are compatible with Intel a chipset ATX motherboard. I) VIA chipset : We found it works well in our test with some of VIA chipset motherboards. II) SIS chipset : We found it works well in our test with some of SIS chipset motherboards. * If you have a problem with any motherboards with Intel chipset, please contact us. CPU Since we recommend Intel chipset motherboard, we also recommend you to use Intel CPU because Intel does not support AMD CPU with their chipsets. We recommend Intel Pentium IV 2.4 or faster with our application. Please note that there are different minimum CPUs for each Xecap model as follows: 1) Xecap 50B: Pentium 4 and 1.6GHz 2) Xeap 100B: Pentium 4 and 2.0GHz 3) Xecap 200B: Pentium 4 and 2.4GHz VGA We recommend ATI chipset built-on AGP VGA card (on-board VGA card with video memory of 64MB and higher) I) Some customers use other chipset VGA card but we found that ATI VGA card is the one without any problem. II) If you still want to try other chipset VGA card, you need to test and find one at your side. Both ATI and NVDI VGA board types are most widely used, but please note that ATI Rage Pro 128 Model can not be used for our system. RAM We recommend 512MB or more (Dual Channel Memory) for increased speed. O/S and Other Software O/S : Windows 2000, Windows XP Others: DirectX 8.1a or higher version (If there is no display being seen on the screen, please check with DirectX)

< The recommended CPU and RAM for each board > The following table is based on ATI Radeon 7000 graphic card in our test. BOARD TYPE CPU RECOMMWNDWD PC REQUIREMENT RAM XECAP 50 XECAP 100B P4 2.0GHz Cel 2.0GHz P4 2.4GHz Cel 2.8GHz 512MB (Min CPU requirement: P4 1.6GHz) 512MB (Min CPU requirement: P4 2.0GHz) XECAP100B 2 P4 3.0 GHZ 512 MB XECAP 200B P4 2.8 GHz 512MB (Min CPU requirement: P4 2.4GHz) We recommend using Serial ATA HDD for fast data access in your system. Hard Disk We recommend minimum 2G free space in the system drive for your system after installing the Xecap software program. Others We recommend turning on the hyper threading function in your system s CMOS if your CPU supports the hyper threading function. Also, it is recommended to use more than two disk partitions for overwrite recording option
