According to, Test are repeated five times for each ear, and the earphone is removed and repositioned before each measurement. The sound pressure level emitted by the earphone of the portable audio equipment when playing programme simulation noise as described in IEC is measured for both left and right ear by a third octave analyser connected to the microphone of HATS ear simulator.
