1 WRFA Annual Report Introduction The World Resources Forum Association has started its work 1 st of April, Its mission is to become the internationally respected and well-known science-based platform to exchange knowledge about the economic, political and environmental implications of global resource use and to help increase the sense of urgency for the challenges ahead and to identify meaningful solutions worldwide. The WRF s formal objectives have been formulated as follows: a. organise international conferences on natural resources with the world's leading scientists, politicians and businessmen. b. disseminate and communicate the conferences' outcome. c. organise capacity building, education and training regarding natural resources for stakeholders from emerging and developing countries. d. organise appropriate receptacles in order to deepen the interaction between natural resources topics with representatives of business. e. discuss natural resources topics with representatives of the scientific community. f. inform the public about natural resources topics. This document describes progress made between May 2013 and May 2014, grouped according to the activity plan as approved by the WRFA Board in its meeting in March Activities before May 2013 were described in the Mid Term Activity Review, presented and approved in the May 2013 Board meeting. 2 Overview activities May 2013 May 2014 Flagship events 1 - meeting report and outcomes WRF 2012 (Beijing) actively disseminated in articles and events; - WRF 2013 organised (Davos, 7-9 October 2013), side events included Club of Rome and UNEP International Resource Panel workshop. New item: Workshop Parade.
