1 Introduction This Quick-Start Guide describes how CloudIQ can be enabled, and used with, any number of SC Series storage systems. Onboarding is the process of finding compatible CloudIQ systems, configuring for data packet transfer and adding into the CloudIQ application views. CloudIQ Overview CloudIQ is a cloud-native, no cost Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering by Dell EMC that provides a simple monitoring interface for an unlimited number of Dell EMC Unity and SC Series systems. CloudIQ accesses data in near real time and is hosted on Dell EMC infrastructure which is Highly Available, Fault Tolerant, and guarantees a 4-hour Disaster Recovery SLA. CloudIQ provides operational monitoring in the form of aggregated dashboard views across a company s environment, displaying key information such as proactive health score, performance, and capacity trending and predictions. It is accessible from anywhere at any time. CloudIQ provides each customer an independent secure portal, and ensures that customers will only be able to see their own data in CloudIQ. Each user can only see those systems in CloudIQ which are part of that user s site access as configured in Dell EMC Service Center. CloudIQ Requirements CloudIQ is available to all customers with the purchase of a Dell EMC Unity or SC Series systems. The following are prerequisites for using CloudIQ with SC Series: SC Series systems, including All Flash and Hybrid systems, must be installed and set up with SCOS version (or greater). The SC Series CloudIQ solution leverages Dell EMC s SupportAssist (Phone Home) for data collection. This must be enabled and configured successfully on each individual SC Series array before data is sent to CloudIQ. A paid (active) ProSupport or ProSupport Plus agreement and an accepted End User License Agreement (EULA) for the SC Series system(s). Completed Customer registration at support.emc.com (for each user). This is required to gain access into the Dell EMC support portal which also includes access to CloudIQ. See below for instructions. Customer Registers at support.emc.com 1. If the user is an existing EMC customer (support account in place), registration is probably already completed. No additional registration is required. Skip to the onboarding section in this guide now (page 3). 2. New Dell EMC customers or existing Dell customers need to register accordingly. Registration by using support.emc.com may result in an exception if the user is the first person registering from a company. In this case, Dell EMC personnel will reconcile the exception by working with this first user. Providing a service tag number for one or more Storage Centers will allow the exception process to be handled quickly, and complete the registration process. During the time of the exception process, users will not be able to log into CloudIQ.

2 3. Information that will help during the exception process includes: a. Company name b. Global D-N-B number c. Contact name, and phone number d. Customer address that reflects site e. SC System Serial Number (SSN) f. SC System Service Tag Number g. SC Version running on SC Array For items e, f, and g, open the Unisphere Central for SC Series UI, select the Storage Center system to be added to CloudIQ, and then choose System->Hardware->Controllers. Select the controller where the Serial Number matches the Serial Number previously retrieved. The Service Tag value for this controller is the System Service Tag as shown in the following figure along with the SC Version number. Alternatively, the same information can be found through Storage Center Settings as highlighted in the following figure:

3 The System Service Tag number can be found in the Dell Storage Manager Client as shown in the following figure: Customer onboards via CloudIQ.dellemc.com and enables SC Series Arrays 1. Access CloudIQ at with username ( ) and password credentials. 2. The first time a new CloudIQ user logs into CloudIQ, a series of introductory welcome screens display. These screens show account visibility, product visibility, and product s CloudIQ status, as well as guidance for how to add Storage Centers. Existing CloudIQ users can skip to step 11 below.

4 3. Next, your site visibility needs to be discovered and whether there is any existing Unity inventory in your company s environment. 4. The user is asked if there are any SC Systems to be added to the CloudIQ product for viewing and monitoring.

The user then selects the Do This First button for instructions to help verify that SupportAssist is enabled for sending data packets to CloudIQ, and to find appropriate Storage Center identification information. 6. The user then sees this screen next. To configure SupportAssist in Unisphere for SC Series, click the Storage Center Settings button and navigate to SupportAssist->Turn On SupportAssist. To configure SupportAssist in Unisphere Central for SC Series, open the Data Collector menu and navigate to Monitoring->SupportAssist->Turn On SupportAssist. To configure SupportAssist in the DSM Client, navigate to Storage-> Edit Storage Center Settings->Support Assist.

6 7. Once the user has confirmed the SupportAssist Setup and retrieval of the Storage Center (SC) information, one or more SC systems can be added. The user must supply the System Serial Number (SSN), System Service Tag number, and Storage Center version (for example, 7.3.x) for the associated Storage Centers being added. The combination of these three attributes are used to validate proper custodial access. 8. Once all SC systems are added, the user selects Done and is automatically directed to the CloudIQ Overview page shown in the following figure: 9. The first time a Storage Center is added to CloudIQ, it can take up to 4 hours for CloudIQ to be fully onboarded. Once the process is completed, the SC system appears in CloudIQ and an alert message is sent to Dell Storage Manager/Unisphere. 10. Users will only see Storage Centers which they have onboarded via CloudIQ. 11. Upon subsequent logins to CloudIQ, the default page that users will see is the CloudIQ overview page.

7 12. To add additional Storage Centers, the user navigates directly to the CloudIQ Settings page: Settings->Your Accounts->Your Systems->Add Storage Center. Customer off-boarding and disabling SC Series Arrays Off-boarding is the process of removing SC Arrays from within the CloudIQ application view. Within the Support Assist tab of DSM / Unisphere, a CloudIQ Enabled checkbox is found. This is checked by default when CloudIQ is fully onboarded. This is viewed in Storage->Summary Tab->Select Edit Storage Center Settings->Support Assist. The user can deselect this checkbox to temporarily disable data flow to CloudIQ. A user should only deselect this based upon advisement from Dell Co-Pilot Support. Once deselected, the CloudIQ connectivity view in the CloudIQ overview dashboard will reflect the flow of data being halted. This could take up to 4 hours. Reselect the checkbox to re-enable the option. In the event a user wants to remove one or more Storage Centers from CloudIQ, the user will navigate directly to the CloudIQ Settings page: Settings->Your Accounts->Your Systems. If no other users are using CloudIQ to monitor this specific SC Array, an alert message will be generated and presented in DSM / Unisphere, and the associated checkbox will be removed in DSM.
