Wireless Accounts!! To wireless accounts you must have rights. Wireless accounts can be managed through the Self Service Portal.

1 Wireless Accounts Each school managed device (eg Macs, ipads etc) should be allocated a Wireless Account to allow it to connect to LT_OPEN. This account should only be used once to make the ini@al connec@on to the LT_OPEN network. Once connected, users can then log in through a web browser using their own username and password to apply the appropriate level of filtering. To ac@vate wireless accounts you must have administra@on rights. Wireless accounts can be managed through the Self Service Portal. Every school will have a set of wireless accounts available in the Self Service Portal as follows: eg W- MURR to W- MURR these should be used for desktops and laptops W- MURR to W- MURR these should be used for ipads Each wireless account is ini@ally disabled and will show as Unused. Once enabled and used, accounts will only work with one device and will be paired to the device s MAC address. If you need more than one wireless account ac@vated go to - 1. To ac=vate more than one Wireless Account for a set of ipads or School Managed computers. If you only need a single wireless account follow - 2. To ac=vate single accounts for one off purchases of devices

To ac=vate more than one Wireless Account for a set of ipads or School Managed computers Select Group Administra@on Select + New Group at the botom of the screen A new group will have been created called SCHOOLCODE- un@tled Select the new group from the list that appears Select details at botom of screen Give the group a new name eg SCHOOLCODE - Wireless - ipads (NB The SCHOOLCODE must s@ll preface the new name) Submit changes Select the new group name and click on Membership Under Member Type choose Wireless accounts Select the wireless accounts you wish to enable, click add and submit changes Choose Bulk Password reset Select group and Proceed Check details and Submit You will have the op@on to print slips of accounts and passwords, or copy and paste data into a file This will automa@cally ac@vate all the accounts in the group, they should now show as <pair pending> Log in to the self- service portal on a BT managed machine through Internet Explorer: htp://admin

To ac=vate single accounts for one off purchases of devices Login to Self Service Portal (see above) Select Wireless Accounts in the Self Service Portal Select the specific account and press details/password buton Enter a descrip@on and select a device type Check reset password Uncheck account disabled When you submit, you will be given a password Wait a few minutes for this to become ac@ve Now if you list the account, it will show as Ac@ve <pair pending> Connect the device to LT_Open (see below) using the wireless account name and password Shortly therea]er (5-10 mins), it shows in the portal as Ac@ve ma- ca- dd- re- ss- 00 The wireless account is now paired to this device only Log in to the self- service portal on a BT managed machine through Internet Explorer: htp://admin
