This resulted in the later checks for any error to always find a zero value for the return code. (i.e. success) Most often this would result in IAS being unable to connect to any agent if the DNS lookup service is unavailable at initialization time. This can also result in S0C4 abends depending on the system memory layout at the time. In most cases the product will continue to function, and would only require a user to issue the RECONFIG command through a CA7 terminal. In rare cases, however, the DNS response block dereference could result in a S0C4 abend in the CA7 task, stopping all workload. Ensure that all TCP/IP services (e.g. DNS nameservers) are fully available before starting the CA7 task. Be advised, you can issue the /IAS,FUNC=RECONFIG command with this fix applied. But, if you have issued the STOPCOM and STARTCOM commands, DO NOT issue a RECONFIG. If a reconfiguration is required in this situation, you will have to stop and restart CA 7.
