End users benefit from a cost-effective way to keep their system current and operating at its full potential; dealers receive added revenue from the sale of the package, the sale of future renewal packages, service fees for installing upgrades at the time of release and an opportunity to maintain an ongoing relationship with their customers. To encourage sales of these packages, we have developed a new pricing structure that provides better financial incentives for customers to purchase the packages particularly at the time they are buying upgrades or new software licenses. This sales alert explains the new pricing scheme, conditions for sale of the packages and the marketing materials available to assist in the sales process. Along with a standard quote, a second quote will automatically be generated providing itemized costs for the purchase of software enhancement packages to cover all ViconNet licenses included in the project. While the original quote may be used by dealers to win the job at the most competitive price, it is Vicon s recommendation that dealers present the second quote to customers as a desirable option prior to closing the sale. Registering End Users In order to effectively administer this program and provide reminders to both dealers and end users when packages are up for renewal, we will now require that all ViconNet licenses be registered in both the names of the end user and installing dealer. 2 Explanation of Package Pricing, continued Enhancement packages are offered at three different price points: Initial Pricing: 60% off the cost of a single upgrade Renewal Pricing: 40% off the cost of a single upgrade Standard Pricing: 20% off the cost of a single upgrade Separate packages are available for ViconNet/Kollector and the VMC. An enhancement package for ViconNet does NOT include an upgrade for the VMC. Enhancement packages are valid for one year from date of purchase. For complete system coverage, separate packages must be purchased for each NVR, DVR and ViconNet license in the system. For example, a network operating with one ViconNet NVR and four Kollector Pro units would require five separate enhancement packages in order to cover the entire system. Initial Pricing: Initial pricing is available to customers only at the time they purchase a NEW ViconNet system. Renewal Pricing: Renewal pricing is available to customers who wish to extend coverage for an additional year on a package that is already in effect. Renewal packages must be purchased prior to the expiration of the first package. Standard Pricing: Standard pricing is available to any customer running the currently released version of Vicon- Net who is not eligible for initial or renewal pricing. Customers purchasing packages at standard pricing are eligible to renew coverage at the lower, renewal pricing the following year according to the terms described above. The following three pages outline pricing for Initial, Renewal and Standard packages. These prices are included in the new August 15, 2007 price list. Customers are only eligible to purchase enhancement packages for systems that are operating in the currently released version of ViconNet. Customers operating systems running at version 3 may not purchase enhancement packages until they upgrade their system to version 4. Buying the packages at the time they upgrade and then renewing on an annual basis will provide them with the lowest overall cost for coverage. Page 2

6 Combination Upgrade/ Pricing To encourage the purchase of enhancement packages at the time customers upgrade to ViconNet 4.0, we are offering specially priced combination packages that bundle either a single or double level upgrade and enhancement package together at one, low cost. Single level upgrades are for customers currently running version 3.0. Two level upgrades are for customers running 2.0 One upgrade/enhancement combination: Pricing is the equivalent of purchasing an upgrade, plus purchasing an enhancement package at the initial cost. Two level upgrade/enhancement combination: Pricing is the equivalent of purchasing one upgrade at full price, the second upgrade at half price, plus purchasing an enhancement package at the initial cost.
