1 Field Advanced Display Product Bulletin The Field Advanced Display (FAD) is a user friendly operator interface featuring BACnet communication and a colorful, graphic display with touch-screen interface. The solution is specifically designed to enable user interaction with a BACnet MS/TP-based Building Automation Control System through a convenient, comprehensive and intuitive user interface. The FAD is delivered with a factory programmed application for ease of use and to reduce and simplify its set-up. Its flexible, attractive and intuitive graphical interface allows any user type to navigate the Building Automation Control System to view useful information such as temperatures, adjust parameters as set-points, program schedules and calendars and monitor dynamic information such as alarm and trend-logs. The access authority to information is managed through a series of optional service and user passwords. The FAD offers various options to configure. It can be conveniently configured without the need of a PC or software tool, using its own user interface. The device configuration can be easily archived, exported or imported through the embedded USB port. Its compact dimensions, IP protection ratings and multiple mounting options, together with its modern and discrete design, allow the FAD to properly adapt its style to any type of room and user s preference. Features Factory Programmed Application This application includes network and device browsing capabilities, allows targeting all information from the network, a single device or a specific value or parameter. It automatically displays public objects exposed on the network by the connected devices. It also features a list of favorite values from the whole network keeping all the relevant information under control and easy to access. Its intuitive symbol and live data based visualization and navigation does not require any further localization of the end-user pages. BACnet MS/TP Communication The BACnet interface of the FAD complies with the ANSI/ASHRAE Standard for sharing data with other devices on the network enabling many to one integration and breaking through the traditional one to one matching between controller and display. Portable configurations and easily upgradeable The USB port provides a convenient way to import and export configurations and to upgrade the device to latest available software versions Compact and neutral design Wall, Flush and Panel mounting are all available options for FAD installation. Thanks to a series of accessories it provides solutions to properly adapt to any type of room and aesthetic requirement.

2 General Features Modern and intuitive user interface The FAD provides an unprecedented user experience at field level. It enables users to intuitively interact with the Building Automation Control System through its modern, colors, graphic 3.5 (320 x 240 pixels) TFT display and resistive touch-screen interface. Its neutral design and compact dimensions, together with the multiple mounting options allows the FAD to properly adapt to any kind of installation required. BACnet MS/TP Communication The FAD fulfills the standard BACnet Operator Display (B-OD) profile enriching its minimum requirements with Time Schedules and Calendars support, enabling users to take full advantage of the features included in Field Advanced Controller (FAC) Series. The FAD benefits from using BACnet open protocol communications as a widely accepted market standard dedicated to Building Automation Control Systems. It embeds useful information such as Unit of Measure and data descriptions with Unicode Character Sets support therefore not requiring additional effort to be put in to the user interface design. BACnet communications also enables the installation of the user interface locally or remotely from the devices it serves. Factory Programmed Application The FAD is ideally suited for the monitoring and operation of many applications in a building automation system by a number different users with differing requirements. Its factory programmed application can be navigated through a series of icon based intuitive architecture, the page contents are dynamically populated from the live data and information available on the network and these can be displayed in a wide series of different scripts. The result of the features included in the FAD application enables the customer to drastically reduce design and localization costs. The FAD application lowers engineering and commissioning time and simplifies its use through a configurable, standardized and yet flexible user interface. The pages are dynamically populated from the network leveraging the services offered by the BACnet standard thus minimizing design costs. Once configured and populated, the page management is then optimized to guarantee immediate navigation. The application includes network and device browsing capabilities to automatically display public objects exposed by the connected devices and a series of visualization and interaction pages to best fit the user s needs. Device View It allows creating a list of favorite information from a single or multiple devices enabling the user to keep all the relevant information under control. Favorites It can target a specific device on the network or data object within a device, allowing users to focus their attention only where it is required. Target Object 2

3 The display of advanced features such as alarms and events monitoring, schedule and calendar objects is guaranteed through dedicated interaction pages. The FAD can be easily tailored to a range of different applications from occupant room interface or zone control unit to a more technical panel front-end or device user interface. The authority to access information can be managed through the use of optional passwords. Trend Logs The FAD can access BACnet Trend logs stored in connected devices. Logged data is presented on the display and shown in tables. It enables users to verify the system is functioning properly or assist in diagnosing faults. Remote Schedule and Calendars This feature represents a differentiator to other BACnet Operator Displays (B-OD) available on the market. The FAD device can access BACnet schedule and calendar objects on remote devices within the same network. Visualization and modifications of the remote schedules and calendars is enabled through a dedicated and intuitive user interface. Trend Logs Weekly Schedule Alarms Summary The FAD supports BACnet alarming, providing a summary of all alarm messages detected on the network through BACnet Notification Class Objects. Alarms are available on the display. An Alarm History is stored on the device. Convenient configuration The FAD offers the users a convenient configuration procedure to setup the device, it can be performed directly in the field. On site, without the need of a PC, the user can easily configure the device as required directly through its user interface. Once the device is configured, it can be exported and saved on a flash-drive USB stick for archive purposes or ported to other devices of the same type. The exported configuration will be saved on a CSV file format. The CSV file enables users to re-order entries in the Favorite section. The USB port can also be used to upgrade the display to the latest available software version thus ensuring the FAD can benefit from new features and developments as they are made available. 4 Mounting Its overall compact dimensions (111 mm x 118 mm x 31 mm), IP protection rating and multiple mounting options, together with its modern and discrete design, allow the FAD to properly adapt its style to any type of installation and customer s requirements. Wall-Mounting with the WMB box available as an accessory. Flush-Mounting on a standard electrical box type 506 (BTicino) or via the FMB box available as an accessory. Panel-Mounting allows to increase the standard plate international protection (IP) rate of IP40 to IP65 for panel mounting thanks the IPG gasket available as an accessory. A series of stylish plastic frames, available in different colors WPF (White) and BPF (Black) are available as accessories and can be optionally placed on top hiding the mounting screws and cut out will complete the installation providing a good looking finish. 6 Wiring Convenient four (4) wire connection for power supply ( VAC / VDC) and BACnet MS/TP network. The wide range of power supply acceptable, in many cases, does not require a separate power line to be installed. Thanks to its low energy consumption it could be powered directly by the field controller (Eg. TUC03, FxC and NCE Series) or use the same power line in case of 24 VAC devices (FEC, FAC or NCE). 7 Accessories A series of accessories are available to complete the FAD offering enabling the solution to be suitable for a wider range of applications and installation types. The WMB box enables the display to be Wall Mounted. Panel-Mounting allows to increase the standard plate international protection (IP) rate from IP40 to IP65 for panel mounting thanks the IPG gasket available as an accessory. WMB The FMB box enables the display to be Flush Mounted on walls. It is a standard electrical box type 506e (BTicino).
