3 Myth or truth: th System z is the go to platform for implementing transaction processing, but not for CPU-intensive workloads. Myth

4 The truth: While most of the world s largest enterprises rely on mainframe for their mission-critical transactions and data processing, System z new 4.4GHz Quad-core processor delivers a balanced system with superior performance for enterprise applications.

5 Myth or truth: th System z is designed primarily to run COBOL applications. Myth

6 The truth: The majority of the new System z engines sold are for Java, Linux and XML. And, if you are running SOA workloads, the mainframe also make sense.
