1 Homework Assignments 2.1 Folder: hw01 Assignment #1, Bio Overview: Create a web page with some information (real or made up) about yourself. Your web page should include the following: A header, with your name A nav section, with at least 2 links in it And 2 sections or articles, one of which should include a few bits of information about yourself, the other can be anything. Each section should include some sort of heading line in it describing it o Examples from below: Bio, Interesting (to me) Trivia Include a linked CSS file with at least one style modification in it. Example:

2 Homework Assignments 2.2 Folder: hw02 Assignment #2, Enhanced Bio Overview : Modify your homework #1 to add some positioning elements, as well as an image. Your modified Bio page should include: A section with at least 2 columns (you may use more if you wish) An image A list In the example below, the CSS includes: Absolute positioning for the nav, bio, and image areas to form 3 columns Absolute positioning for the trivia section to place it under the previous sections. Centering the header text Borders for the Nav and Bio section Example:

3 Homework Assignments 2.3 Folder: hw03 Assignment #3, Input Echo Overview: This week s homework uses 2 web pages. One HTML page for input, and one PHP page for output. Your input page should include an option list, a text input, 3 radio buttons, and a text area. You may duplicate the exact example below, or make up your own example. Your output form should include print out all of the inputs that the user selected in some form. It should include a multiple column section, and an image. You may duplicate the exact output example shown below, or make up your own. The input screen should match the example below. Input Form Example: Output Form Example:

4 Homework Assignments 2.4 Folder: hw04 Assignment #4, Weighted Average Overview: Write a program to calculate a weighted average for a course. Your input form should allow the user to enter their name, and the appropriate grades as shown below. Style your input form into three columns. Calculations: Exams are worth 80%, participation is worth 5%, and homeworks are worth 15%. Results should be formatted to 2 decimal places. Input Form: Results:

5 Homework Assignments 2.5 Folder: hw05 Assignment #5, Pizza Order Overview: Write a web program to allow the user to order a pizza. The input screen will use some radio buttons and checkboxes to let them select the size, and toppings for the pizza. The results will display a confirmation of their order, including # of toppings, and the price. Price should be formatted. Include a link on your output form to go back to the input. Large pizza s start at $10, medium at $8, and small at $5. Input Form: Output Page:

7 Homework Assignments 2.7 Assignment #6, Population Growth Folder: hw06 Overview: Write a program to project several years of population growth. The user should be able to enter in the number of years, the current population, and the growth rate. Your output screen should print out the numbers the user entered, as well as the results in a table. Style the table as shown below (though exact colors don t have to match). Include a link back to the input form. Format the numbers in your output. Input Form: Output Form:

8 Homework Assignments 2.8 Folder: hw07 Assignment #7, Text Sorter Overview: Write a web program to allow the user to sort a list of things. Your input form should include a text area the user can type in their list. The output should be in the form of a table. Hint: Use the explode command to break the input up into an array. Once you have the text into an array, use the sort function to sort it, and then loop through it and print the results into a table. Example Input and output forms are shown on the next page.

10 Homework Assignments 2.10 Folder: hw08 Assignment #8, File Echo Overview: Write a program to read the contents of a pair of files, and print them out. This week s program has no input form, only a results form. The two files used are available on the K: drive, and are agesatinaugural.txt, and uspres.txt. Your program should open the files, read them in, and then print the information contained in them in a table on the screen. Output: Hint: You will need to use the more complex form of the foreach loop for this one, or use a normal for loop.

11 Homework Assignments 2.11 Folder: hw09 Assignment #9, Grade Report Overview: This program uses the files students.names.txt and students.grades.txt, which are available on the K: drive. The files contain a list of students names, along with their corresponding grades. Your program should consist of a single PHP file, that will allow the user to search for a particular letter grade in the file, and print out every student who has a grade that meets that criteria. 12 Homework Assignments 2.12 Folder: hw10 Assignment #10, Dive Log Overview: This program uses one PHP file. The initial screen presents the user with a list of radio buttons to choose dive sites. Once one is chosen and the submit button is clicked, the program searches through the file dives.txt, and prints out a summary of information on that site. Each line of the file contains 4 fields, the name of the site, the type of dive, the depth of the dive, and the duration of the dive. The fields are separated by commas. Total number of dives, and total time underwater should also be printed out. Initial Selection: Results Screen:

13 Homework Assignments 2.13 Folder: hw11 Assignment #11, Order Report Overview: Write a program to summarize an order of products. The information on the order is contained in a file called purchasing.txt. The file contains 3 fields on each row, a product name, a unit price, and an amount ordered. Use the file to generate a report similar to: The CSS includes the border and drop-shadow for the output area, as well as right justifying the numeric fields in the table. (You may use a HTML table, or inline-block spans to achieve the layout).
