2 Introduction: With the Walgreens QuickPrints API & SDKs, developers can enable their applications to print 8.5 x 11 classic wall calendars that can be picked up at a local Walgreens store within the same day. The wall calendar products are available at over 4,000 Walgreens locations across the United States. 8.5 x 11 Wall Calendar Highlights: Available in 2 sizes: o 12 months for $19.99 o 18 months for $24.99 Allow the customer to customize the calendar; e.g. start from any month, add photos and captions to important dates, etc White metal coil binding Calendars are produced on 100lb. Satin Finish paper Product Dimensions: o Width: 11 inches o Height: 8.5 inches Maximum Image Dimensions: o Width: 10.5 inches o Height: 8 inches What this document covers This document explains how to properly configure images for printing on an 8.5 x 11 wall calendar. (This document will not cover the APIs needed to print out a wall calendar. For more information on the APIs, refer to the QuickPrints API/SDK documents 1.) 3 8.5 x 11 Wall Calendars Requirements To guarantee that your customers 8.5 x 11 wall calendars will be of the highest quality, we recommend the following: Minimum image resolution = 1575 x 1200 Maximum image resolution = 3150 x 2400 Minimum Camera Resolution = 2 Megapixels Required File Format = JPEG Recommended File Size = Less than 3MB Maximum File Size = Less than 5MB o Any files sent between 3MB and 5MB shall be recompressed by Walgreens Aspect Ratio (width/height): The 12-month calendar contains a total of 26 pages including the cover page The 18-month calendar contains a total of 38 pages including the cover page The names of the image files/pages for the Book product must adhere to the following syntax: o P + page number (including leading zeros) + _image name +.jpg o For example: P001_imagefilexyz.jpg would be the final filename for the first image, which originally had a filename of imagefilexyz.jpg o Page number shall always be a three-digit number with either one or two leading o zeros The first page is always 001 ; pages 2 to 9 shall also be represented as a three digit numbers (e.g ) o Pages 10 to 38 shall be represented as a three-digit numbers; e.g. 010, 011,.., 038 Every even-numbered page, except for the last page, must be rotated 180 degrees before it is uploaded Developers are responsible for (obtaining and) rendering the month grid o Month grids must be accurate for each calendar month of that year 2013 Walgreen Co. 4 Wall Calendar Specifications Page Specification for Odd Numbered Pages Printable Area Information The printable area is 0.25 inches from all the edges of the calendar page The metal coil binding holes and hanging hole punch will go through parts of the printed image (refer to the figure in 2013 Walgreen Co. 6 Wall Calendar Last Page Requirements Developers are responsible for rendering the last page with the following requirements: The last page of the calendar must contain picture thumbnails for all the months o The thumbnails must be arranged from left to right 12 month calendar should have 4 thumbnails in each row (see sample below) o Row 1 Months 1 through 4 o Row 2 Months 5 through 8 o Row 3 Months 9 through month calendar should have 6 thumbnails in each row o Row 1 Months 1 through 6 o Row 2 Months 7 through 12 o Row 3 Months 13 through 18 Sample Calendar Last Page for a 12-month Calendar 2013 Walgreen Co.
