2 Section 1) Uploading Your Document 1) Navigate to /dcs.anglia.ac.uk You will be presented with this page. You can log in using your y Anglia credentials. 2) Now choose the Job Ticket that relates to the type of print request you have, e.g. black and white printing, by pressing the Start button. 2

3 3) Now choose the file you wish too upload by clicking the Upload button. This will bring up a new window where you can navigate to the file you need. 4) Once you have selected the file,, the file details will appear, as per the screen shot below. Click Add and then Next. Your job will automatically begin converting to a PDF file. You may be b asked to wait until this process is complete if you are uploading a larger file.. The Print Job Name box will w update automatically if you haven t filled this in already. 5) You willl be asked to check yourr PDF file and that the contents havee converted successfully. Click the Next button. 3

4 Section 2) Choosing Your Cost Code 1) You will be presented with the main job ticket page. 2) Choose your cost code by clicking on the magnifying glass heree to bring up a new window. 3) You need to select your Faculty or Department by using the blue Drill Down arrow. This will bring up a list of codes for you to choose from. 4) Use the page numbers at the bottom to navigate to other departments. They are listed in alphabetical order after the 4 main faculties.. 4

5 5) Once you have pressed the drill down arrow, you will be presented with all of the codes that belong to that faculty or department. You can scroll s through the lists, or you can filter through by using the text boxes at the top. Here I have used AC00 (Art School) as an example and this has displayed the relevant code. 6) Once you have the correct code, press the Select box to use the code. 7) You will now see that the Standard Cost Centre field is populated with your selection in the main job ticket page. 5

6 Section 3) Filling Out The Job Ticket 1) You can type the amount of copies you need in the top t left, and the costss in the top right r will update accordingly. 2) Here e you can choose your delivery options. Please note that if you choose deliver to my room we will use the room number in the personal details section below. Note: The personal Data section should already be populated as it is linked to the ARU directory. If anyy of the details are incorrect, use the Personal Data link on the left hand-side off the screen to update your details. 3) Here e you can choose your usual printt options such as stapling, hole punching and single or double sidedd printing. Simplex = single sided Duplex = double sided 4) You can also choose different paper types for covers c and other sections of the document. In this example, I have chosen an A4 white card front, and yellow paper for the rest of the document. By pressing the + + button, you can add more options. 5) Further down the page you will find other finishing options such as binding and laminating. 6) Theree is also an Additional Instructions box for you to type any other information we may needd to know. When you are finished, click 6 Next.

7 Section 4) The Checkout Process 1) Your job has now been added to your Shopping Cart. If you wish to add more files to print, use the Back To Shopping link. 2) When you are ready, click Checkout. 3) You will be asked to choose a delivery date and time. t Click Next. 4) This is your orderr summary. It displays the quantity and approximate costs for your order. You must agree to the Terms and Conditions to progress with your order. 5) Click Next and your orderr is complete! You will now receive an with your order confirmation. 7

9 Section 5) Other Useful Information a) Keeping track of your orders and file management After Logging in click on [Active Orders] under the My Menu panel. The Status column will update while your job is processed by DCS. Each user is allowed to store up to 100MB of files in their Documents Library. You will need to delete files when capacity is reached as youu will no longer be able to t upload documents until you create some free space. 9

10 b) Advicee for PowerPoint files You can only upload certain Native file types. All Microsoft Office file types are accepted, as well as PDF files. Because your document willl be converted to a PDF, we encourage all PowerPoint users to convert their files themselves in the layout style they need (e.g. 3 slides to a page ). You can do this in Microsoft Office 2010 by using the Save As settings and choosing PDF and Options Here you can choose various options for thee layout style, e.g. 3 per page, notess pages etc in PDF format. 10

12 Section 6) Paper Orders You can order A4 and A3 paper by clicking the Paper Order in the Catalog panel.. 1) 2) 3) Click the Buy button to place an order for paper In the Copy Count enterr the number of boxes required. Follow the instructions through thee cost code selection andd checkout process as with normal print orders. 12

13 Section 7) Glossary A Accept PDF Preview: The process of viewing and authorizing an order by checking the soft PDF proof of your document on the screen. Active Jobs: Files that you uploaded to the site and saved in your personal library of files so they can be used again. Additional Requirements: Particular instructions that you provide on how the job should be produced. B Binding Options: How the pages of a print job are held together (wire binding, comb binding, glue binding, and so on). Browser: Program used by a web site visitor to view content on that web site (i.e.internet Explorer) C Conversion to PDF: The process of turning a file from its original format (for example, Microsoft Word, Excel) into a print-ready PDF file. Colour Print: Allows you to select a black/white print job or colour print job manually. Select Automatic so that the system will automatically assign the job to either black/white or colour printer. Check Out: Allows you to complete the order process. Copy Count: The price for one (1) unit of a particular item in an order. Cost: The item price multiplied by the quantity of a particular item in an order. D Due date/time: The date and time you want the finished order to be ready (for pick-up or shipping). Duplex: A method of printing on both sides of the paper. Select Long Edge Binding for portrait orientation and Short Edge for landscape orientation documents. F Finishing: Various post-print services performed on a printed job (for example, trimming, folding, drilling, stapling, laminating, and perforating). H Home Page: Displayed first when a Web browser is opened, designed to be the user's point of entry into a Web site, or the page that the user first sees when they first visits a company's Web site. J Job Profiles/Ticket: Items that are available for ordering on the site. M Media Type: The substrate (material) on which a printing job is imaged (such as paper-bond, cover, glossy, vinyl, canvas). My Menu: The area of the storefront that gives you access to account-specific information, such as your profile, address book, and order history and status. Cont./ 13

14 O Order: A shopping cart transaction which may include multiple jobs. Order History: A page in the My Menu area of the storefront that lists your orders with status information. P Preview: A representation of a finished job. For example, you can preview PDFs. U User Info: Your site account and contact information. Upload: The process of moving a copy of a file from your computer to the site. URL: (Uniform Resource Locator) connects to the web page location. S Shopping Cart: A virtual shopping basket to which you add items you intend to buy online. Simplex: A method of printing on one side of the paper. Staple: A binding method that joins the sheets of a print job by means of stitching with wire staples in a particular manner (booklet, upper left corner, and so on). U URL: Abbreviation of Uniform Resource Locator, the global address of documents and other resources on the World Wide Web. Upload: The way you get your material to the print shop. W Web To Print: A method of ordering all your print jobs over the web. 14
