Using the Gauss SupPortal

1 General Information The SupPortal is the Gauss product support Web portal. It deals with the company s product range, focussing on technical information and the latest news. The SupPortal addresses customers, partners, and Gauss employees. The main goal of the Web portal is to improve the flow of information regarding technical questions and problems to do with VIP. Besides, it serves as a showcase for Gauss software products and solutions. The information about the Gauss product range is organized as follows: Announcements provides you with Gauss product news. After login, the latest announcement is always visible in the top right position of your SupPortal browser window. Knowledge Base offers you product documentation and frequently asked questions. A forums section will also be implemented. Tech Resources provides useful links to resources and tutorials. You can also download tools from this section. Marketing offers Gauss product & partner marketing information. Here, you will find all information regarding the new Professional Partner Program. Sales offers VIP sales information, such as collaterals and presentations. Solutions provides information on Gauss technology partnerships Training Offers information about Gauss product training Events Offers information about Gauss workshops, Bootcamps and Web seminars. Please note that the sections Marketing, Sales, Solutions and Events are only available for Gauss Interprise and its partners.

2 Accessing the Gauss SupPortal General settings: Before starting the SupPortal, please activate the option Accept all cookies in your browser. You can access the Gauss SupPortal under the URL On the login page you will be asked to enter your login name and your password. If you do not have an account to access the SupPortal or if you have forgotten your password, please send an to

4 Navigating through the SupPortal Clicking on the links in the left navigation panel leads you to the desired information about the Gauss product range. Navigation through the SupPortal is very easy as this frame can be used like a table of contents. In addition, the path to the selected piece of information is shown in red letters, which, in turn, are hyperlinks. This path helps you to keep the overview over your navigational structure and allows you to quickly access superordinate pages. Simply click on a word to access the corresponding page.

5 Searching for a Document You can also search for a document by entering a keyword or phrase in the search field. Clicking on the Search button opens the Search results dialog, presenting all documents that contain the expression or keyword you are looking for. In addition, this dialog offers various search options. When searching for documents by a keyword or phrase, you can specify your search using the options What? and Where? : The search option What? allows you to activate the option A keyword or phrase and enter your relevant search expression. You can also search for new documents created during the past seven days. Activating the search option Unchecked documents will display all new documents which you have not yet accessed ( unchecked ) since their creation. The search option Where? allows you to either search in the entire website or to limit your search to a specific content section.

6 Example features FAQs In the SupPortal, you can find a variety of FAQs dealing with topics on the different Gauss products. Just click on the FAQ button in the top position of your browser window to open the FAQ page. Alternately, the FAQ page can also be reached via the section Knowledge Base. The following is an example of FAQs concerning the feature Multi-import in VIP ContentManager: This is how the question is answered in detail.

7 You can also write a comment on the relevant FAQ or send a suggestion for a new FAQ. Just click on the links at the bottom of the page. Downloadable Documents The SupPortal allows you to download lots of documents. You can, for example, download the different product manuals as pdf files.
