1 Before you set up your home page Before you start constructing your home page, you might want to have several items ready to upload. 1) A head shot that will upload into the members Image field on the My Profile page. This should be a JPG that is less that 2MB. 2) As many as 3 additional JPGs can be loaded on the Photo Gallery page. These JPGs should be less that 2MB. 3) As many as 10 MP3s can be uploaded on the Recording page. These MP3s should be less that 2 MB is size. 4) On the Members Only side, listed as Links To Home Page Set-Up, are links to freeware applications of photo editing, music editing and a web browser. These are cross platform applications (PC and Mac). You may want to download the web browser Firefox, if you are a Mac user and currently using Safari. There are some text functions available with Foxfire that are not available with Safari. Internet Explorer works well for PC users but it is not supported for Mac. 5) At the bottom of most pages in the is a button labeled Submit. If you do not click that button your editing or uploads will not be saved to your page.

2 Setting up your home page Go to the new CFM website and click the Members Only button. Login using your name as it is listed with the CFM. (If you are unsure how you are listed do a member search and find your listing.) Enter your name as your Username using no spaces and no caps. Enter the last 4 digits of your Social Security number as your Password. Click the Login button After this first login you will be at a page where you can access contracts, Wage Scales, Bylaws and Constitution, and various items listed in the right hand area titled Members Only (see below). One of the items is Tools For Home Page Setup this page holds the freeware applications for music and sound editing and Firefox a free web browser. Click the text that reads click here to edit your personal profile.you will be prompted to login again, use the same Username and Password as earlier. Click the Login button. The next page will again contain the text click here to edit your personal profile. Click on that text.

3 Now you should see a page titled My Account (left) with a series of edit buttons covering different areas of your home page. You have a default Template already selected for you. You may change it at anytime, but for now let s start by clicking the edit button under My Profile. The resulting page (below) allows you to view your information within the CFM database. You may not edit this information. However, on this page you can and should change your Username and Password. Enter your new Username and/or Password and remember them. You must click Submit at the bottom of the page to save your changes You can wait until you have done more work on this page, but you must click Submit when you finish to upload any changes. You can upload a Member Image which will serve as your head shot on your home page. The file must be a JPG and under 2MB in size. Click the Browse/Choose button and select/highlight the JPG that you want to upload. If you choose the wrong photo, click the Delete button. When you click the Submit button, the photo will upload. Toward the bottom of the page, click the box labeled Make My Site Active and be sure to click Submit when you are through. This will make your home page viewable to everyone coming onto the CFM website. These are the only options for editing information available on this page. If you want to change information on this page i.e. phone numbers, name, , you must contact the Secretary-Treasurer so the

4 information can be vhanged in the Local s database. Next, click the edit button under the Biography area. The resulting page will allow you to enter text to describe yourself, your music, etc to people viewing your home page. Enter a title in the first box. This will display on your home page. Skip down to the Biography Description box and enter the text you want displayed. Use the format tool bar for type selections and formatting. When finished, click the Submit button at the bottom of the page. Clicking on Photo Gallery will result in this page (below) where you can upload a maximum of 3 JPGs; each must be under 2 MB. Click the Browse/Choose button and select/highlight the photo you want. When you have selected your photos, click the Submit button to upload your photos. It takes a little time to upload

5 By clicking the Template edit button, you may choose one of 8 templates as the template for your Home Page (see below0. Click the circle under the template you want. Then click Submit when you have made your selection.

6 You may experiment with the look of different templates by clicking a different circle under a selected template, and you can do this after you have already built your home page. The text photos and music will just move to the new template. But your change will only register if you click Submit. Click on the Concert Calendar button and this page is displayed (left). From this page you may add concerts and events that will be displayed on the calendar on your Home Page. Dates show-up bold when they have events loaded in them. The red arrows will advance or reverse the months. Click Add Concert and you can enter details re: your concert. NOTE the required fields are marked with as asterisk. The Concert Calendar is an area where you can post your upcoming concerts or show when you are available for work. Instead of a concert, you can show that you are jobbing, maybe the hours you are booked and the general location (downtown. etc) Musicians looking for subs or leaders looking to fill in can easily check your availability and contact you through the button on your home

7 page or from your phone number also listed on your home page. Click Submit when you are done and the date will appear in bold on your calendar By clicking the Recording button you arrive at the page (below) where you can select and upload MP3s for listening on your Home Page. This page already has 3 MP3s loaded, so it may not look the same as your page.

8 The file format must be MP3 and under 2 MB in size. Click the Browse/Choose button to select your MP3. Select/highlight the file you want, enter a title for your file and click the Submit button to upload your selection. You may load as many as 10 MP3s onto your Home Page.
