1 XactSite Website Reference Guide Welcome to your new XactSite website! This guide is designed to help you easily personalize your website so you can begin to acquire leads and manage your customer interactions. By taking the time to review this information you ll be well on your way to reaping the benefits of XactSite. Visit your website and scroll to the bottom. 2. Click on the link AGENT ONLY TOOLS. 3. Enter the Login Name and Password in the welcome you received after signing up for XactSite. 4. Click Login. CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD 1. Click Change Password from the Tools menu. 2. In New Password, type in your new password. 3. In New Password Confirmation, retype your password exactly as you typed it in the New Password box. 4. Click Change Password. 2 Your XactSite Contact Information Once you have signed in to your administration page, make sure that the information contained in your personal profile is correct. To access your personal profile: 1. From the left navigation menu, click on My Profile. The User Summary Information screen appears. 2. Verify the accuracy of the information (including phone and address(es)). 3. To make changes, click Edit. The User Personal Information screen appears. 4. Always click Submit at the bottom of the screen to save your changes. If any contact information is incorrect, or to upload your photo and/or company logo; log in to Account & Settings and update your details. Unlike your photo, a company logo is required. You can upload your logo following these steps in the Website control panel. If the broker later uploads a company logo in My Account, it will overwrite the logo that the agent uploaded in the Website control panel. 1. Log into the website control panel. 2. Click on My Website in the menu on the left. 3. Click on Configuration. 4. Scroll down to the Image Settings section. 5. To the right of Website Logo, click on Edit. The Add Graphic window will appear displaying your current/default logo. 6. Click the Choose File button to browse your computer for the desired file. Note the information about the suggested image resolution, file types and size. 7. Select the logo and click Open. 8. Click Upload. 9. Click the gray left/right arrows on the Add Graphic window until the desired logo is displayed. 10. Click the Submit button to confirm the logo choice and close the Add Graphic window. 3 CONTACT INFORMATION DISPLAY OPTIONS On your website administration page, in the left navigation panel, select My Website, then Configuration. On the Website Settings tab, scroll down to the bottom where you will find the Other Settings section. Click on the Edit link to the right of Contact Information. In Contact Information, make the following selections: In Marketing (Website) Name, enter your name as you want it to appear on your web site home page. In Preferred Phone, select the phone number you want displayed under your name on every page of your website. In Display , select the address you want displayed on your website home page. If you want sent to an address other than the displayed , make the selection in Destination . Check the items you want displayed on your website home page under Displayed. Always click Submit at the bottom of the screen to save your changes. Choose Your Website Design There are a number of website designs templates you can choose from. It s a good idea to look at the other template options to see if you want to change your site design. To choose your design: 1. Click on Configuration from the My Website menu. 2. Scroll down and click See Available Designs. The Design window will appear displaying all available options. 3. Click the Select button to confirm a design. Your website will update to that design. 4 CUSTOMIZE YOUR DESIGN Some designs allow you to change the banner image. To adjust a banner image: 1. On the left navigation menu, select My Website. 2. Click on Configuration. On the Website Settings tab, scroll down to the Image Settings section. You should see a thumbnail of your current banner image displayed. 3. To the right of Banner, click Edit. The Banner window will appear displaying all available options. Follow additional steps below depending on the option you would like to take. To select a different banner: 1. Click the gray left/right arrows on the Banner window until the desired banner is displayed. 2. Click the Submit button to confirm the banner choice and close the Banner window. You should now see the new banner displayed on your website. To upload a custom banner: 1. Click the Choose File button to browse your computer for the desired file. Note the information about the suggested image resolution, file types and size. 2. Select the image and click Open. 3. Click Upload. 4. Click the gray left/right arrows on the Banner window until the desired banner is displayed. 5. Click the Submit button to confirm the banner choice and close the Banner window. 5 Customize Your Homepage Message All XactSite websites are set up with the same default home page text, so take a few minutes to customize the text on your home page. To create your home page welcome message: 1. On the left navigation menu, select My Website and then click on Website Pages. 2. Click on the name of the page you want to edit for example, homepage. The Home Page Edit screen appears. 3. Scroll down to the Content Editor and inside, edit/type your welcome message. 4. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click Preview to see how your message looks on your website. 5. Click Publish to publish the changes on your website. Add Custom Pages You can add custom pages to your website. With XactSite Select, you can add 5 custom pages. For each new contact page you add, a link is added and displayed in your website s left navigation menu. To add a new content page: 1. Click My Website from the Website Pages menu. 2. In the Website Content section, click Add New Content. 3. Enter the name of your page In Left Navigation Title. This title is how it will appear in the left navigation on your website. Tip: In Left Navigation Alt Text, enter the text your website visitors will see in the pop-up when they point to the link in the left navigation menu. 6. 6 7. In Sequence, enter the number that corresponds to the order in which the link to this page will appear in your website s left navigation menu. 8. Check Display this page if you want the page to be available on your website. Unchecking the box will prevent the page from displaying automatically in the left page navigation menu. 9. Enter the desired URL extension in the Main Article URL field and click the Check Availability button. Your desired extension must be confirmed as available in order to Publish. If needed, enter a different extension and try again. 10. Choose the type of content you want to display on the page by selecting a Content Type. Types are: text, an external link, or an internal link. Select Enter Content to use the content editor to display text. 11. Click Publish to publish the page on your website. Entering Keywords Add keywords to each of your website pages to help increase visibility in search engines such as Google and Yahoo. When someone types any of the keywords you have entered your website may be displayed among the search results. This is not a guarantee for SEO placement. 1. From the Website Pages menu, select My Website 2. Click on the name of the page you want to edit. The Edit screen appears. 3. In Search Engine Keywords, enter multiple keywords separated by commas. 4. In Search Engine Description, enter a short summary of the content of the page. This summary will display in the search engine results. 5. Once you are finished entering keywords, click Publish at the bottom of the page. 7 The XactSite Website NAVIGATION AND MENUS Navigation and menu placement is dependent on the template you choose. Some templates have only a top navigation on their home page and other sites may have both top and left side navigation. By default, customers visiting most template designs will find the Property Search and My Search links as part of the navigation. The left navigation menu includes default links to the following on all template designs: Buyers Info Sellers Info Owning Your Home Investing Advice Mortgage Info Neighborhood Info School Info Mortgage Calculator SEARCH FUNCTIONALITY The XactSite websites have an interactive search functionality that is based on the same technology used in BrightMLShomes.com. Users have the ability to enter a city, county, address, zip code or neighborhood name in the Location box on the left as well as zoom, draw, and customize the map in order to narrow down their search results. The map and search results displayed below the map are built to automatically interact with the search criteria you enter. Rather than you having to repeatedly hit a Search button to obtain results, as you enter more and more criteria, the map and results will auto-update as you go. Basic search criteria: Location box Auto-adjust the map.. Price range Beds & Baths Square Feet Status Property (and Sub) Types On Market Open Houses Only Virtual Tours Only Users who want to conduct a more specific search can click + MORE OPTIONS to access advanced search criteria options. 8 MAP OPTIONS Draw Draw a specific search area on the map to display listings within those borders. Layers Select layer(s) to be added to the map. These include: parcels, flood zones, current traffic, and even schools. Points of Interest Choose which points of interest to display such as restaurants, banks, and recreation. Homes Display existing property, newly listing properties, and/or open houses. SEARCH RESULTS There are three types of search displays: Map View, List View, and Photo View. The sites default view for listings is Map View. A summary of details for a listing can be viewed on the side of the map. Hovering over the coordinating pushpin on the map will also present a pop-up with some basic listing information. Click on either the listing summary or the pushpin will take you to the full listing detail page. COMMUNITY INFORMATION PAGES You have at your fingertips access to premade community information pages for cities you serve simply by adding the state abbreviation and city name after your web site address. For example, for XactSite websites with the domain name darrenkipfer.com, you can add MD and Rockville after the name to view a community page about the city of Rockville. It may be beneficial to create links on your page to these various subpages for the geographic areas you specialize in. Adding the forward slash, state abbreviation, forward slash, and city name will work with custom domains (darrenkipfer.com/md/rockville) as well as with the standard subdomains that come with the XactSite websites (BrightMLSLaurie/MD/Rockville). 9 LISTING DETAILS PAGE The following is a breakdown of the functions and the listing information available on the Listing Details page. 1. Share/Facebook/etc Users can post a link to this listing (or your website) on a variety of social media portals (click drop-down arrow next to Share to view all options). 2. Virtual Tour Users can view the primary virtual tour that added to the listing through Keystone. 3. Larger Photos Users can view all of the listing photos that are entered through Keystone. 4. Birds Eye View interactive satellite photos of the property (see next section below). 5. Ask a Question? Users can you through the site about the listing by entering their name/ . 6. Listing Information (Details, Map, Neighborhood, Walk Score) These tabs provide additional information and can be disabled from your site s Admin Control Panel if desired (all but the Details tab). You can also add custom tabs. 7. INRIX Drive Time Users can calculate estimated drive time to the listing from an entered address 8. Advanced Options Additional information is available using the following buttons. Save This Property Users can save the listing to their Portfolio. Directions Users can get driving directions to the listing from an entered address. Print Brochure Users can print a brochure about the listing. Mortgage Calculator Users can enter basic information to estimate mortgage payments. Get Alerts Users can save the listing and select the types of updates they want to receive for that listing (Price Change, Status Change, Open House, Photos Added, Virtual Tour Added). Nearby Communities Links to community information pages for nearby cities. Nearby Homes - Links to additional listings nearby the viewed listing. Copyright 2017 Bright MLS, Inc.
