3 1 Overview Variations history in COINS OA Commercial Manager was previously recorded for a Variation header and triggered by a status change or changes in pricing. This Historical Snapshot process has been expanded so that history is also recorded for Variation Items and Resources and triggered by any significant change in pricing or costing details. In addition, there are SV/JC Enquiries that now show the detailed history of Variations for a Contract/Cost Code, with the ability to show the state of the Variations as at a certain Financial Period Date. 2 Configuration The Commercial Manager parameter available for Historical Snapshot processing is described below. Parameter SV/VARHISTX Enable Extended Variations History Description Allow extended Variation Detailed Pricing History. If set to Yes, Variation history will be recorded for an extended set of fields, including Detailed Pricing (Items, Resources) history. 3 Screen and Processing Changes 3.1 SV Variation Register Variation Register Browse If the SV/VARHISTX parameter is set to Y, Variations cannot be deleted, and the Delete button (highlighted in Figure 1) is suppressed in the Variation Register browse, as shown in Figure 2. 5 3.1.2 Variation History Variation History is available as a tab in Variations > Variation Register > Variation Summary screen, as shown in Figure 3. Figure 3: Variation History Tab If the SV/VARHISTX parameter is set to Y, a link appears in the Changed On field, as shown in Figure 4. When you drill down on this link, the Variation Detailed Pricing History Enquiry is shown (see Section 3.1.3). Links to Total Priced Variations and Budget Transfers are suppressed. Figure 4: Changed On Link Variation Detailed Pricing History Enquiry If the SV/VARHISTX parameter is set to Y, you can access the Variation Detailed Pricing History Enquiry screen from the Changed On link in the Variation History tab (see Section 3.1.2). This Detailed Pricing History screen contains Items and Resources tabs that show data based on the parent Variation BOQ and pricing method: Items View - used for Detailed Variations (see Section ). Resources View - suppressed if Variations belong to an External BOQ (see Section ). Construction Industry Solutions, Oct Page 5 of 12
6 Items View The Items View of a Detailed Variation History is now used for Detailed Variations, as shown in Figure 5. It shows Items as at a selected period/revision of the parent Variation. Figure 5: Items View of Variation Detailed History Resources View The Resources View of a Detailed Variation History (Figure 6) is used for Detailed Variations (except External BOQs). It shows all Resources of the parent Variation as at a selected period/revision. 7 The External Rate and value fields are suppressed on an Internal BOQ or an Internal Variation, or if parameter SV/VOHDRREV equals Y. 3.2 Contract Status Enquiries JC Variations History Enquiry JC Menu Item A new Variations History menu item now appears in the Contract Status > Enquiries menu, as shown in Figure 7. This enquiry allows you to display the Contract, BOQ, and As At Financial Period date for the history of Variation changes in Status and pricing. 8 Selection Screen When you select Variations History, you are prompted with a selection screen, as shown in Figure 8. Figure 8: Variations History Selection Screen Field Definitions Contract BOQ Use the lookup to select a Contract number for the enquiry. Select the BOQ type code. As At Period The first financial period to report on. It displays history between the Contract start date and the current date period Variations History Browse When you click the Next button at the bottom of the Variation History selection screen, the Variations History browse appears, as shown in Figure 9. If parameter SV/VARHISTX is set to Y, the Changed On field on this screen shows the last revision date for the Variation and links to the Detailed Pricing History Enquiry (also see Section 3.1.3). If you drill down on the Changed On field, you are taken to a screen with Items/Resources tabs depending on the BOQ type and Variation pricing method Enquiry (also see Section 3.1.3). 9 Figure 9: JC Variations History Browse JC Variations by WBS/Cost Code Enquiry Selection Screen The Variations by WBS/Cost Code Enquiry already exists and is accessible from the Contract Status > Enquiries menu. A new As At Period field appears at the bottom of the selection screen, as shown in Figure 10. The default for this field is a blank value. 10 Enquiry Browse When you click the Next button at the bottom of the Variations by WBS/Cost Code Enquiry selection screen, the Variations History browse appears either by WBS (as shown in Figure 11) or by Cost Code (as shown in Figure 12), depending on which one you chose in the Selection field of the selection screen. 11 3.3 Commercial Manager Contract Enquiries SV Variations History Enquiry SV Menu Item A new Variations History menu item appears in Commercial Manager > [selected Contract] > Enquiries, as shown in Figure 13. NOTE: When accessed from the Commercial Manager Contract menu, the Contract/Period selection is omitted, and the Enquiry shows working Contract Variations as at a current Valuation period of the Contract. 12 Enquiry Screen After you click the Next button on the Variations History selection screen, a Variations History Enquiry screen appears, as shown in Figure 15. When parameter SV/VARHISTX is set to Y, an extended set of fields is also shown in the history, including Detailed Pricing of Items and Resources.
