1 Overview The Project Management module has been enhanced so that COINS OA users can specify different parameter values by project; for example, default submittal lead times may vary based on the

3 1 Overview The Project Management module has been enhanced so that COINS OA users can specify different parameter values by project; for example, default submittal lead times may vary based on the client or type of work. Although Job Contract Manager also uses this functionality (using job type and job level parameters), this document focuses on the changes in the Project Management module (using project level parameters). Further development is needed before it is available in additional modules. 2 Screen and Processing Changes 2.1 Project Setup Parameters Project Management Menu A new Parameters item has been added to the Project Management menu for a selected project (Project Management > [specific project] > Project Setup > Parameters), as shown in Figure 1. 4 2.1.2 Parameters screen When you select Parameters from the menu, you are taken to the Parameters screen shown in Figure 2. Note that this screen contains three distinct sections: Global, Company, and Project (such as SUBCONTRACT 1 in the sample screen below). The Exists column on this screen works as follows: If ticked, a value exists at this level. If not ticked, the value is taken from a higher level. 2.1.3 Parameters actions The Parameters screen has five action options (see Figure 3): Update Global Value, Update Company Value, Update Project Value, Delete Company Value, and Delete Project Value.

Figure 3: Parameters Actions Action Definitions Update Company Value Update Project Value When you select Update Company Value, you are prompted for a new company value (see Figure 4). When you select Update Project Value, you are prompted for a project value (Figure 5). A corresponding table with the new company or project value is either created or updated. 6 Figure 5: Project Value prompt Delete Company Value Delete Project Value When you select Delete Company Value, the company value is deleted. When you select Delete Project Value, the project specific value is deleted. 2.2 Copy Project Values Copy Project Values option A Copy Project Values option is found on the Options menu at the top right hand side of the Parameters screen, as shown in Figure 6. 7 2.2.2 Copy Project Values screen When you select the Copy Project Values option, the screen shown in Figure 7 appears. Figure 7: Copy Project Values screen Field Definitions Copy from Project Enter the project from which the project level values for the parameters specified in the Parameters field below should be copied. Parameters Enter the parameter or range of parameters from which the project level values should be copied. Remove Existing? If this field is checked, any project level values for the specified parameters are deleted, even if no value exists in the Copy from Project. This field defaults in as checked.
