1 Setting up Your Classroom Page in Schoolwires Go to

2 Click the SIGN IN Button Located at the bottom of the Homepage

3 1. Type your username (Your GCS login without and password (Also GCS password) 2. Click the Sign In Button 3. Click the Site Manager Button located on the left side (Looks like a pencil and ruler)

4 Section (Classroom) Workspace 1. View Website Button Allows you to see the changes you make to your page in another window so you do not have to close out of your Section Workspace. 2. Summary Tab Where all of your work is created for your classroom page 3. New Page Button Allows you to create new pages for your Classroom Navigation 4. List of your Classroom Pages that will display in your Navigation 5. Snap Shot of the total visitors to your Classroom page

6 Classroom Configuration Pages Homepage/Teacher Page This page has been create for you as your homepage. The layout is the same across the district and is very similar to the Edline page that was created for you. All of the Apps you need are already on the page and should not be removed. Course/Classroom Expectations This is a Document Viewer page that will allow your users to view a PDF of your classroom rules or expectations. You may place your class syllabus in this section. Class Handouts This is a File Library page that is useful for uploading classwork assignments that some students missed due to being absent, forms, and projects. Helpful Resources This is a link library page and is useful for helpful links, fun links and homework links. Homework/Assignments This page type is useful for adding and displaying homework assignments. Calendar This is the page that the Upcoming Events App on your homepage will pull from. A calendar can be used for such things as homework, sport schedules, field trips and conferences. These are just a few pages to get you started. You may add more based on your Classroom needs. For those who teach multiple classes you may want to add File Library Pages for each class or Assignment pages for each. If you do not want to use the pages created, you may make them inactive by click the Green Active Button. ***This hides it from public view***

7 Editing your Classroom Homepage 1. Start by clicking the Homepage or Teacher Page 2. This will open your New Editing page window

8 The page is setup like your Edline page with Apps already added to the Page 1. Content App to display your welcome message to your Audience 2. Image App to display an image that represents what you do 3. Headline & Features (News) App to display student/class achievements. Or Newsletters 4. Upcoming Events App to display the events you put on your Calendar page ***DO NOT REMOVE ANY APPS FROM THIS PAGE***

9 Adding Content 1. Click the Green Pencil to open the Content App 2. Type the welcome message to your Audience 3. When you complete your Message, Click the App Options button located in the top right corner 1. Rename your classroom page by typing the New name in the App Name section. 2. Click the box next to Show the app name on my page - SAVE

10 1. Click the Green Pencil on the Image App 2. Click the Select File button to add the image of your choice. (One that you have save on your computer or Flash Drive) Add a Class Image 1. Click the Browse button and browse for a photo to add to your classroom page. 2. Once the image is selected, click continue and insert image. You can change the dimensions on the next page.

11 Adding An Image Continue 1. ***Add Alternative Text in the box provided*** This ensures that your image is ADA compliant. The text will be read by image readers and will display when a visitor hovers over your image. There is a 125 character limit. 2. Change the dimensions of your photo if necessary. The maximum width of your photo is 250 pixels wide by 215 pixels high. ***Do not exceed either dimension*** 3. Save

12 Adding A News Item 1. Click the Grey Pencil to open the App. 2. Click the New Button to add a new news item. 1. Title the News Story. 2. If you would like to add a Thumbnail Photo, you may do so by click the Select File Button under Accent Image. (If no image skip slide 13)

13 Adding News cont. 1. Click the Browse Button and Select your photo 1. Set your image attributes 2. Maximum Width & Height is 100pixels (remember this is a thumbnail photo. 3. Click Insert Image

14 Adding News cont. 1. Add an Alternative Text for your image if you added an image. (Brief description of the image you added) 2. You can add a Display Duration for your News Story to be displayed when you want and for how long you want the News Story to display. 3. Type the text for your News Story (Fonts have been set for you) 4. If you are adding a video using the Embed code, paste the embed code in the Source Code area <> 5. Click the Save Button. You may add more stories, when you are done, click I m Done

15 Upcoming Events 1. Click the Green Pencil 2. Under App Name remove App - Check the box Show the app name on my page 3. Click the Dropdown option and choose Calendar App 4. Under Number of days in the future type 30. Under Maximum number of events type 5 5. SAVE OPTIONS and Click the Pink X to close

16 Add to the Calendar(To be displayed in the upcoming events app) 1. Click the Calendar Page 2. Click the Grey Pencil to open the Calendar App 3. Double Click on the date you would like to ad your event

17 Adding to the Calendar 1. Title your Event 2. Give your event a Start and End time or make it an all day event 3. Type a Description and Choose a Category 4. Click Save and another Event or click the Pink X to exit
