3 I. Introduction Owning a Prestashop online store that functions globally is not as hard as it seems. Or if I correct myself, it s not as hard as it seems when you have the right modules for the right task. A location detection module for Prestashop is something that is essential for a globally functioning business website since you get customers from many locations around the world. Our module GEO Country is one such module that can detect location and set other location dependent values for the customer. Once the location of the customer is detected, the module will set country, language and currency, the first time they land on your site. Taxes, shipping cost and other relevant information will also be shown correctly for the customers depending on their location without showing the default values of Prestashop. The GEO Country module also helps you install the GeoIP feature (Geolocation by IP) for Prestashop easily. II. Installation 1. Upload the module to server Go to Modules and services Click Add a new module Choose module main file (geocountry.zip) Click Upload this module to upload the module 2. Install GEO country Just click Install to install the module 3

4 III. Country, language and currency settings At this point, the installation of the module is finished. However, enabling of all the countries, languages and currencies to be used in your shop still remains. This is a necessary task because the module can detect and set the customer s country, language and currency only if they are enabled in the shop. Otherwise it will return the default country, language and currency. 1. Enable countries Go to Localization / countries and enable all the countries that are needed for your shop. 2. Enable languages 4

5 - Add translation package: Go to Localization/Translation. Search for the languages you need from Add/update a language and click Add or update a language to add the languages to your shop. - Enable the languages (if they are disabled): Although you have added the language translation packages to your website, you still need to do one more check to make sure they are all active. Go to Localization/languages. Check and make sure all the languages you need are active. If not, activate them. 3. Enable shop currencies - Go to Localization / currencies. Click Add new currency to add a currency. 5

6 - Fill in all required fields to add a new currency - Make sure all currencies are active IV. Check the module All the steps for setting up of the module are now complete. Now the module should be checked to see if it s working as expected. Clear web browser s cookies and cache: This module detects customer country, language and currency and sets all relevant information (by saving all the information to web browser s cookie and cache) the first time a customer lands on your site. So you need to clear your web browser s cookies and cache data before checking the module. 6

7 - Go to your website home page and you will be able to see that the country, language and currency are all set in the header. V.
