1 WineAlign Exchange Merchant Gateway Registration Our visitors purchase wines directly from you. To receive payments from our visitors you need to register your business on our WineAlign Exchange Merchant Gateway which is powered by Stripe. The registration process is simple and straightforward and can be done in less than five minutes. This document will show you: 1) How to sign up for Stripe 2) How to configure the payment receipts consumers receive from you 3) How to view payments and understand the fees 4) A sample reconciliation for a case of wine Note: You ll need to provide this document to your accounting department. We use Stripe for our Merchant Gateway. Stripe is the gold standard in online payment automation and employs state of the art security. You ll need to sign up with Stripe in order to join our Merchant Gateway. Payments from consumers (less commission and credit card fees) are first deposited in your Stripe account and then automatically transferred to your bank account. You will be able to manage your own Stripe account online and be able to see payments, bank transfers, transaction histories, etc. Before starting the Stripe registration process there are three things we want to bring to your attention. 1) You ll need your bank transit number, institution number and account number handy. You can get this from a company cheque or from your online bank account. Use this link to find your institution number if you don t know it:

2 2) Stripe asks for one individual s SIN number to be associated with the account. If you don t want to give a SIN number, then you ll need to upload your license or something similar. This step is non-negotiable, and every organization needs to provide it. Stripe is required by law to collect that information as part of an obligation to their banking partners and as part of a set of laws known as "Know Your Customer". If you have concerns this link reviews why Stripe needs personal information: 3) If you already have a Stripe account, you can use that as your login. There is no need to create a new Stripe account if you already have one.

3 Okay, now that we ve reviewed those three things you can use the following link to register your company with the WineAlign Exchange Merchant Gateway: Once entering the link in your browser, you will see the following: After completing the registration process, you will see something like the following. Once completed, please send an to letting us know you are all signed up.

4 Next, you need to go back to Stripe. You may have to login again. Once your registration is complete you will need to setup Receipts, so your customers gets an from you on payments. This can be simple as checking a single check box. Please login to your Stripe account and click on Business Settings at the bottom of the left-hand menu.

5 That will bring up a second menu where you need to enable Receipts (1). Click on Receipts on the left menu and then enable receipts for Successful payments (2) and Refunds (3). Since this is YOUR business you may want to upload your corporate icon (4) and make sure to send a test receipt (5) to yourself. Remember to save everything (6) when you are done. Here is a sample of what your customer will get.

6 Once we get an from you we ll send you an entire dollar as a thank you. This $1 transaction will test the entire process from end to end. The account you use for Stripe will receive a notification of the $1 payment. To review the payment you ll need to go to your Stripe account (1) and click on Payments (2). You ll notice that the credit card statement descriptor (3) will say WAX-Your Name (and that is what will show up on the consumer s credit card). Note that a $1 transaction will result in only $0.56 being deposited into your account after a Fee (4) of $0.44. In this case the Fees consist of our commission of $0.11 (in this case 10% + 13% HST on the $1) and Stripe s $0.33 processing fee of 2.9% plus $0.30/transaction. Rest assured these fees seem much more reasonable when you are talking about a $300 case purchase. When it comes to wine, our commission is only calculated on the pre-tax cost of the wines.

7 Within WineAlign we ll set up all of the detailed information involved with pricing the wine and the applicable taxes, bottle deposit fees and of course commission. We ll use that information to make it super easy for consumers to purchase wine directly from your winery or agency. In the example below a registered user only needs to make THREE clicks to order a case of wine. Your organization will receive an from us which you will use to create an invoice and ship the wine. Once we receive the invoice we will process the transaction and you can ship the wine.

8 Finally, we ve included a sample reconciliation for a case purchase of wines priced at $24.15 including HST and deposit. You ll see how the amounts line up in our reconciliation and within the transaction on Stripe.
