1 SYLLABUS FOR BUILDING YOUR ecommerce STORE WITH WORDPRESS Bud Kraus Joy of WP joyofwp.com The WooCommerce plugin for WordPress allows you to create any kind of ecommerce Store. You can sell tangible products, digital downloads or your time. Our class will focus on selling tangible goods. The theme and plugins I use for our class are all free but many more sophisticated

2 themes and plugins for WooCommerce can be purchase if you desire. For this class, you need not purchase anything. This syllabus is a working progress and it's more of a guide than a typical syllabus. I will not necessarily follow the order here. I may lave something out or add something not listed below. It will depend on what I think is suitable for our class. We will focus on using the four product types: Simple Product Group Product External/Affiliate Product Variable Product We will also focus on these matters as well: Design considerations Using Categories Setting Up Payment Gateway

3 There is a lot to WooCommerce and if fact it is more complicated than WordPress core itself. If your knowledge of WordPress is insufficient you will struggle with WooCommerce. Each student will get their own site to work on during the class so please use it! Your practice site will be available to you during the class and for some period of time after it.
