2 2 elabdoc Product Information elabdoc makes it easier than ever to find all the product information relevant to you. Using images of elabdoc itself, this guide describes how to quickly find documents such as Instructions for Use, safety data sheets and user manuals. Users can define their own profile of favorite products in elabdoc, which may then be used in searches or for notifications of document updates.

5 Registration and Login 5 Registration and Login While basic features of elabdoc are available without login, registration and login will provide access to additional document types and services, including: Local documents Barcode sheets Operator s manuals New since last visit searches Favorites (lab systems profile) Update notifications One-click multiple downloads Saved searches Full text search Main Menu Header elabdoc pages contain a header menu to: A: Search field C: Catalog Search B: New Entries D: My Product Information

6 6 Documents Search Quick Search Documents Search The search page is shown following successful login. Search terms may be based on: Catalog number Document identifier Lot number Document title Product name Key word Alternatively, a search may be initiated using the search field in the main menu header. Quick Search 2 3 To search for a document Enter search term in field provided. As search term is typed, autocompleted search terms are displayed. 2 Select a suggested search item. e.g. cobas 8000 core unit OR OR 3 Press enter, or click search symbol (magnifying glass).

7 Documents Search Search Results 7 Search Results Document searches (default) match catalog number, lot number, document identifier, document title, product name or key word. Number of results is shown in brackets to the right of search term. Full text searches are performed if search term is not found via document search. OR By clicking 'Extended Text Search' button below search results. 8 0 Documents Search Filter Search Results Search results are ranked according to published date (default). Results can be ranked by either: Date Document Type Document Title Relevance Filter Search Results Filter search results via selectable menus located to the right of the search results. Possible filters are: Languages Document Types Systems Product Categories Catalog Numbers Document Identifiers Versions File Formats Published Since

9 Documents Search Filter Search Results 9 To refine an existing search Click inside box below relevant filter. e.g. Document Types 2 Select a filer. e.g. Method Sheet OR 3 Click select document type to close menu Updated search results are displayed as filters are changed. OR go to Step #4 3 2

10 0 Documents Search Filter Search Results 4 4 Type in the filter entry field, the filter option term This type-in capability is available if the filter drop down list has more than 0 options to allow fast access to a filter option.

11 Documents Search Filter Search Results To delete / add search filters Click delete symbol, marked by (X). 2 2 Click all options. Shows available filters. 3 Select relevant filters. 3 4 Click show results button. Updated search results are displayed as filters are added or changed. 4

12 2 Documents Search Full text search Full text search Extended text search is available at the bottom of the result page. The entire elabdoc document repository will be searched with the original search term and the results are presented.

13 Documents Search Full text search 3 On the result page the full text search result record is enriched with snippets including proximity information to show where the search term was found in the content (e.g. extended search term = HIV).

14 4 Documents Search Saved Searches Saved Searches A After login to elabdoc: Saved Searches will be displayed in the upper right part of the screen. The magnifier icon collects searches which have been saved. The file counter is updated as new searches are added or removed. A Saved Search icon To save a search 2 Enter search term in field provided. In the example, Albumin was typed. As search term is typed, autocompleted search terms are displayed. 2 Select a suggested product out of the auto-complete list. e.g. Albumin and click All (on the right). The document result page opens. 3 To save the search, click the icon. 3 4 Enter a label for the search. 5 Click Save Search. 4 5

15 Documents Search Document Download 5 2 To display all saved searches Refer to My Product Information > Saved Searches. Saved searches are displayed by date of saving. 2 To delete all saved searches, click Clear All. Document Download Download files by clicking on the document title. OR The download basket collects files for later downloading. The file counter is updated as new files are added or removed. The file download location is defined by local browser settings. 2 To add files to the download basket Click download symbol beside individual search result. OR 2 Click select all button. Select all button is faded (not active) if search results are too numerous.

16 6 Documents Search Document Download To view download basket contents Click download basket symbol. Document type, quantity and file size are shown. 2 2 Click View All. Alternatively, click Download to receive all files immediately. Download basket shows all stored files plus file size. To delete unwanted files Click the trash icon for individual files. OR 2 2 Click Clear All to delete all files. 3 File number and download size are updated as items are removed. 3 To download all files Click the Download button. Files are automatically deleted from basket after downloading.

A Diagnostic field B Selected system / assay C Systems / assays within diagnostic field To browse other diagnostic fields 2 Click All diagnostic fields. A menu of diagnostic fields appears. 3 2 Hover the mouse over diagnostic fields. Product names are shown to the right. 3 Click on relevant product. Catalog page is updated. To toggle between view options Click list OR pane view option.

To refine a list of assays Click within drop-down menu box, and select specific applications

21 Catalog Define Favorites 2 Define Favorites Favorite systems, assays and lots are added or removed by clicking on the favorite icon. Non-favorites have a grey icon. Favorites have an orange icon. Lots may also be added to favorites. Mouse over lot to reveal favorite icon. Favorites within a selected system / assay are indicated by the icon beside the name: grey if no favorites, bordered orange if some favorites, and filled orange if all are favorites.

22 22 My Product Information Manage Favorites My Product Information My Product Information allows users to: A B Manage favorites AND Manage notifications A Manage favorites B Manage notifications Manage Favorites A C Manage My Favorites (default) shows favorites grouped in three tabs: A Systems B Reagents C Document types Systems Reagents Document types Tab headers specify number of favorites. Define favorites for both systems and reagents to capture relevant updates and avoid irrelevant document notifications. Favorite systems are listed with photo, product name and trash icon. Favorite reagents are listed with catalog number, product name, LOT icon, and trash icon. By clicking the Export favorites button a list of the favorite reagent and lot is provided in PDF format to save and/or print. LOT icon is faded if no lot favorite exists.

23 My Product Information Notification Settings 23 A A Reagent B System C C Local Affiliate Information Favorite document types are defined in My Product Information. Document types may be for: Assays (reagents) Instruments (systems) Other purposes (Local Affiliate info) For some document types an information icon is available. By clicking this icon an explanation describing the document type is displayed as a pop up message. To delete a favorite system or reagent Click trash icon.

25 My Product Information Notification Settings 25 Notification Settings To define notification settings Click Select Notification Settings in My Product Information. The notification settings form opens. 2 2 Complete required information. Information is saved as it is entered. New documents may also be identified via the New Entries main menu header option If notification is selected, the result page will display the documents as chosen in the Preferred document language setting. If not, the result page will display the documents in the language according to the country's default language when the country is selected on the portal (Dialog) start page.

26 26 New Entries New Entries New Entries page shows documents published in elabdoc during the last 30 days. In addition to standard filter options, the Apply Preferences check box limits results to favorite products, reagents and document types. Apply Preferences is checked by default.
