5 Chapter 1 Notations, Notes and Additions This document describes how to use Ezclct Viewer. Target of this document This document is intended for persons who are familiar with the operating system's functions and operations as well as the network's functions and setup. For operations and inquiries about the operating system, see its online help information. 6 Chapter 2 Ezclct Viewer 2.1 Overview This document describes the procedure to install or uninstall Ezclct Viewer and how to operate it. Ezclct Viewer can display the log files collected by Product Info Collection Utility. 2.2 System Requirements The system requirement of Ezclct Viewer is explained Hardware The required hardware environment for use of this product is as follows; Express5800 Series When using the function of viewing the log files only, any hardware matching the requirement can be used Software The required hardware environment for use of this product is as follows; See Table 2-1 Supported Operating System Table 2-1 Supported Operating System OS(Windows) Windows Server 2008 x86/x64(jpn/en) Windows Server 2008 R2 x64(jpn/en) Windows Server 2012 x64(jpn/en) Windows Server 2012 R2 x64(jpn/en) Windows 7 x86/x64(jpn/en) Windows 8.1 x64(jpn/en) 6
7 2.2.3 Target Operating System Ezclct Viewer displays the log files which are collected by Product Info Collection Utility on the following target Operating system. 8 2.3 Installation and Uninstallation This section explains how to install and uninstall Ezclct Viewer Installation This subsection explains how to install Ezclct Viewer. The following is the procedure to install this product individually. Save EzclctViewerInstaller folder which contains a series of installer of Ezclct Viewer to arbitrary folder. Run setup.exe in EzclctViewerInstaller folder. The following window Figure 2-1 Installer Setup Screen is displayed. Click [Next >]. Figure 2-1 Installer Setup Screen Then Figure 2-2 Installer Setup Confirming Screen is displayed. The installation destination of Ezclct Viewer is C:\EzclctViewer. Click [Next >] to start installation. 8

10 2.3.2 Uninstallation Double click Ezclct Viewer in [Control Panel] - [Programs and Features] (or [Add or Remove Programs]), or select Ezclct Viewer and click [Uninstall and Change] to uninstall. Figure 2-4 Example [Programs and Features] 2.4 Start and Exit Start This subsection explains how to start Ezclct Viewer. Double click the shortcut on the Desktop, or right click and select [Open]. 11 2.4.2 Exit This subsection explains how to exit from Ezclct Viewer. Select [File] > [Exit] on menu, or click [x] button on the window. Figure 2-6 Exit menu 11
12 Chapter 3 About the Screen of Ezclct Viewer 3.1 Machine Information Display Screen The information is displayed between the menu bar and [Contents of Compressed File]. During starting, it is blank. Figure 3-1 Example Machine Information Display This displays the following information of the machine on which the logs are collected. Refer to Table 3-1 Items of Machine Information Display Table 3-1 Items of Machine Information Display Item name Contents Product Device name of the machine on which the logs are collected. Product Number Product number of the machine on which the logs are collected. Serial Number Serial number of the machine on which the logs are collected. OS name Operating system on which the logs are collected. 3.2 Contents of Compressed File Screen The list of file names in the compressed file is displayed when the log file specifies the compressed file. Refer to 4.1 [File] menu for loading of the compressed file. See also Chapter 5 Contents of Compressed File Screen about the detail of Contents of Compressed File Screen. 12
13 3.3 Data Viewer Screen This section explains about Data Viewer Screen. Data Viewer Screen classifies files into three types, creates tabs, and displays the file information. See Table 3-2 Data Viewer Screen: File types. Table 3-2 Data Viewer Screen: File types Type IPMI Information Log Information Configuration Information Description Analyzes the hardware log of IPMI Performs relevance analysis of hardware log and software log Displays the system configuration information IPMI Information The information of ipmi.dat file, the hardware information, is displayed from the group of log information files collected by Product Info Collection Utility Display the File Contents This subsection explains about file display of IPMI Information. IPMI Information is classified into the following log types, and tabs are created and display on Data Viewer Screen. See Table 3-3 Log Types of IPMI Information. Table 3-3 Log Types of IPMI Information Log type SEL (System Event Log) SDR (Sensor Data Record) FRU (Field Replaceable Unit) MC (Management Controller) Additionally, tabs are created and displayed according to the following information per log type described in Table 3-3 Log Types of IPMI Information. When a corresponding line of tabs listed below of [IPMI Information] tab, [detail] tab and [SDR] tab are created, details of Record and relating SDR information of the corresponding line are displayed. [System Event Log] > [Record] Tab [Sensor Data Record] > [Record] Tab [Field Replaceable Unit] > [Record] Tab [Management Controller] Tab TIPS : If the selected Record has no relative SDR information, [SDR] Tab is not created Log Information Display Hardware logs and software logs in a group of log information files collected by Product Info Collection Utility can be displayed File Display This subsection explains about the file display e of Log Information. Log Information creates tabs by the following condition and displays information in it. See Table 3-5 Tab of Log Information. 14
15 Table 3-5 Tab of Log Information Tab name Reading file name ALL Condition Shows the tabs as many as reading files. The tab created by merging all the tabs of read file. Merged by using Datetime as the key. Tab is created every time a file is read. Though multiple files are read, there is only one ALL tab Detail Information This subsection explains about the verbose of each Record within file contents of Log Information. When a corresponding line of tabs listed below of [Log Information] tab, [detail] tab and [SDR] tab are created, details of Record and relating SDR information of the corresponding line are displayed. [Reading file name] Tab [ALL] Tab TIPS : If the selected Record has no relative SDR information, [SDR] Tab is not created. 15
16 Chapter 4 Ezclct Viewer Menu This chapter explains about the functions of menu bar of Ezclct Viewer. 4.1 [File] Menu This section explains about the [File] menu [Open] Menu Select the file to display in Ezclct Viewer from the menu. Refer to Table 4-1 Selectable Data File for the selectable data file type. File Type All file ZIP file TAR file TGZ file RAR file DAT file TXT file LOG file Table 4-1 Selectable Data File Extension (*.*) Default (*.zip) (*.tar) (*.tgz) (*.rar) (*.dat) (*.txt) (*.log) If the extension of the selected file is zip, tar, tgz or rar, the contents of the compressed file is acquired and displayed on Contents of Compressed File screen in the left. If the extension of the selected file is otherwise, Contents of Compressed File is empty. IMPORTANT : To select [File] > [Open] again, clear all the currently displayed information beforehand. TIPS : If the specified file is not supported or no supported file is included, the corresponding message is displayed on a dialog and the process is canceled. 16
17 4.1.2 Drag and Drop Drag and drop files to Ezclct Viewer are enabled. Confirm the extension of the file and start the process same as [File] > [Open]. IMPORTANT : If two or more compressed files are specified, dialog is displayed and the process is canceled. 4.2 [Tool] Menu This section explains the [Tool] menu Display the System Information The SMBIOS Information and IPMI Information of the machine on which Ezclct Viewer runs can be displayed. Select [Tool] menu > [Display the System Information]. IMPORTANT : Displaying of the System Information must be run with administrative rights. If the confirmation dialog by User Account Control is displayed, follow the displayed message, and run it with administrative rights. Duplicate execution of the System Information display is not available on the same machine. CHECK : Display the System Information must be run on Express5800 Series and needs to install ESMPRO Server Agent Service or ESMPRO Server Agent. The System Information acquires and displays the following information. See Table 4-2 Contents of Display the System Information. 18 4.2.2 Display the Maintenance Information This function displays the Maintenance Information. Select [Tool] menu > [Display the Maintenance Information]. IMPORTANT : A maintenance password is needed to display the maintenance information. 4.3 [Help] Menu About The dialog to indicate the version is displayed. See Figure 4-1 Example of About. Figure 4-1 Example of About Ezclct Viewer Help This function displays the Ezclct Viewer Help. Select [Help] menu > [Ezclct Viewer Help]. 18
19 Chapter 5 Contents of Compressed File Screen This chapter explains about the function of Contents of Compressed File Screen. 5.1 File Output Output the List of Extracted File Name This subsection explains the function to store the list of contents of compressed files in a file. Right click on the title of Contents of Compressed File to display the pull-down menu Output the List of Extracted File. Click Output the List of Extracted File, and save the list of compressed file contents in a text format. Figure 5-1 Example Output List of Extracted File Save File This subsection explains the function to save files individually from the list of compressed file contents. Select the file to save from the list of compressed file contents, and right click to display Save File. Click Save File, specify the saving destination., Now the file is saved. 20 5.2 File Operation Add to Data Viewer This subsection explains the function to display the information of particular file in the Data Viewer screen from the list of Contents of Compressed File. Select the file to display in Data Viewer screen from the list of compressed file contents, and right click to display Add to data viewer. Click Add to data viewer, and the Information of the file is displayed on Data Viewer screen. CHECK : When adding to Data Viewer screen is enabled, an icon is displayed on the left side of the file. The file with no icon cannot be added to Data Viewer. Figure 5-3 Example Add to Data Viewer Open from Program This subsection explains the function to open files individually from the list of contents of compressed files. Select the file to open from the list of compressed file, and right click it, then Open from program is shown. Click Open from program, and then the file is opened. CHECK : The selected program to open file depends on the environment on which Ezclct Viewer runs. 5.3 Search File This section explains the function to search a file from the list of compressed file contents. 20
21 Enter the words in the search text box of compressed file contents, and press Enter key to search a file or folder name. Only the matched search result with the file or folder name is displayed on the list of compressed file contents. After search, set the top file or folder name in the focus status and press Enter to move downwards. If it reached to the bottom, it returns to the top. TIPS : To search files, use partial match for which regular expression is available. Figure 5-4 Search File 5.4 Display the Specified Files This chapter explains the function to only display the specified files by searching from the compressed file contents. Display the specified Files selects only the following files by the contents of compressed file. 21

OFF Status ON Status Figure 5-6 Example Display the specified Files OFF/ON status IMPORTANT : The setting of Display the specified Files OFF/ON becomes effective at the next specification of log. The change of setting is not reflected to the log showing now. 22
23 Chapter 6 Data Viewer Screen 6.1 Sorting Function You can sort the information to click Sorting function can be launched by clicking on the index of detail information table on Data Viewer Screen. Each click switches the orders to descending/ascending. Upper- and lowercase letters are not distinguished. It is set to the descending order in default setting. Figure 6-1 Example the index of table (in ascending order) Figure 6-2 Example the index of table (in descending order) 6.2 Record Copy The record is copied to clip board by enter Ctrl + C with selecting the record of detail information table on data Viewer Screen. 23
24 6.3 Color coding Display by Severity The information is displayed with background color according to the log severity. See Figure 6-3 Example Color coding by severity. 25 6.4 Save as Excel File The contents of displayed tab can be saved in Excel file format. See Figure 6-4 [Output Excel] button. Figure 6-4 [Output Excel] button Press the [Output Excel] button to display the screen to select the saving file name. The following file types are selectable. XLS File (*.xls) Default XLSX File (*.xlsx) An excel file with the specified name is saved. The target tabs to output Excel file are following. All tabs on [IPMI Information] Tab [All] Tab in [Log Information] Tab In the [Severity] column, cell color is changed according to color coding by severity. IMPORTANT : All the tabs in [IPMI Information] tab are output on new sheets per tab. The [All] tab in [Log Information] tab outputs the information displayed on Ezclct Viewer only. 25
26 6.5 Save as CSV File The contents of displayed tabs can be saved in CSV file format. See Figure 6-5 [Output CSV] button. Figure 6-5 [Output CSV] button Press the [Output CSV] button to display the screen to select the saving file name. The following file type is selectable. CSV File (*.csv) A CSV file with the specified name is saved. The target tabs to output CSV file are following. All tabs on [IPMI Information] Tab [All] Tab in [Log Information] Tab IMPORTANT : All the tabs in [IPMI Information] tab are output as one file. The [All] tab in [Log Information] tab outputs the information displayed in Ezclct Viewer only. 26
27 6.6 Filtering This section explains the filtering function of Data Viewer Screen. Putting the [Filter] button, the filtering screen is displayed in a new window. Figure 6-6 [Filter] button You can choose the items to display by check box on the Filtering Screen. The filtered log is displayed at putting the [OK] button after checking the selectable items About IPMI Information Filtering Function This subsection explains about the function to filter the IPMI Information tab. 28 When the check box in [Severity (Class)] field is selected, only the selected items are displayed. The information in the period of [Date time span] field is displayed. The items selected at the check box are enabled. Start Datetime: Display the information after the specified date and time. End Datetime: Display the information before the specified date and time. If the two or more check boxes are selected, all the selected items are displayed. All the items are selected at default settings. (Except Dictionary and Datetime) The filter is applied to all the displayed IPMI Information. IMPORTANT : The unchecked items are not displayed. If no check box is selected, no filter is applied to the line. (All items are displayed.) Log Information Filtering Function This subsection explains the function to filter the Log Information tab. See Figure 6-8 Filtering Screen to Log Information Tab. Figure 6-8 Filtering Screen to Log Information Tab When the check box in [Severity (Class)] field is selected, only the selected items are displayed. 28
29 When the check box in [Log file name] field is selected, only the selected items are displayed. When the check box in [Source (Locale)] field is selected, only the selected items are displayed. The event log during the period specified by [Date time span] field is displayed. The items selected at the check box are effective. Start Datetime: Display the information after the specified date and time. End Datetime: Display the information before the specified date and time. If the two or more check boxes are selected, all the selected items are displayed. If the log has no data in Severity or Source, check box (No Item) is displayed. If you select this check box, the items which have no data are displayed. The initial state of filtering screen is selected all. (Except Datetime) The filter is applied to all the same kind files. IMPORTANT : The unchecked items are not displayed. If no check box is selected, no filter is applied to the line. (All items are displayed.) 6.7 Time Correction Correct the time gap between hardware log ([Log Information] tab [ipmi.dat[sel]] tab) and DAC (Disk Array Controller) log. Refer to Figure 6-9 Time Correction component boxes for component box to correct the time. Figure 6-9 Time Correction component boxes Select hour/minute/second of the component boxes to adjust time forward or backward. The value is set to zero at starting and reading of compressed file. The specifiable range is from 0h0m0s to 23h59m59s. (Switching of [+/-] is available.) The set values are kept though moved to another tab. The adjustment is available as follows while displaying [+/-] toggle button: When [+] is displayed; Move the time forward. (e.g., if the specified value is 0h0m5s, 13:00:00 becomes 13:00:05) When [-] is displayed; 29
30 Move the time backward. (e.g., if the specified value is 0h0m5s, 13:00:00 becomes 12:59:55) Time correction is applied to [ipmi.dat[sel]] tab in [Log Information] tab [ALL] tab and [NVRAM Log(MegaRAID-SAS)] tab. The viewing time is not modified and it is changed the color to blue character. The information is sorted with the same condition at before modification. IMPORTANT : If the sort of date is in ascending order, after modifying, the date is sorted in ascending order. If the sort of date is in descending order, after modifying, the date is sorted in descending order. You cannot modify the date partially. Figure 6-10 Example applying Time Correction 30
