1 WiredContact Enterprise Import Instructions You can perform an import from many different file types:, this document deals with TXT and Microsoft Excel. File Format CSV TXT Excel Import Type Text Data Import Text Data Import Database Import (preferred option) NOTE: Importing records into WiredContact is a permission-based option. Please check with your WiredContact Administrator to ensure your user login has been enabled to perform imports If it has not been enabled for imports then your administration or support team with your URL such as as this will make it quicker to get you online. There are 2 import types (Text and Database), so if you plan to perform both text and database imports, those permissions will both need to be enabled. We recommend you always elect to Import from a database which would ideally be *.xls Your Excel spreadsheet needs to contain the field headings that will align with your database such as shown below. The MT (Managing Team Field) is needed to identify your Team if you are part of a Franchise or a group of independent businesses 1. Importing Text Data Not relevant if you are using Excel go to part B 1. Navigate to your My Record contact in WiredContact (from the Lookup or Contact view, click this icon ). 2. Click on the purple lock.

2 3. At the bottom is a menu option for Import Text Data and / or Import from Database. Click on the link you need. 4. The Text Import Dialog will appear or see below

3 Follow these types in the Text Import dialog window: 1. Import Map: If you have performed an import previously and saved the import map, click on the down arrow and select the name of your import map. If this is a new import, leave blank. 2. Default Record Manager : Click the down arrow to select the default Record Manager for your imported records. 3. Import File: Using the browse button (yellow folder on database import), select the file from your Library that you want to import. This should be a file format of txt or csv or xls if you are importing from a database 4. First Row Labels: If your import source has a row of labels identifying the columns, select Yes. 5. Delimiter: select the type of delimiter file it is. 6. Default Country Code: this will be the default country code for the phone numbers you are importing. Default is USA. 7. Click Next. 5. You will now see the Import fields and database fields along with 3 columns of sample data. 6. Map your Import fields to the database fields. 7. If you are p[art of a Franchise or you are aware you use Teams them your spreadsheet should have a field called MT this is your Managing Team field and should contain your Team Identifier This is the panel you will see if you are importing from txt

4 Database fields In the white area you will select the field in the database where you want the data to arrive, your data is on the right hand side in black on a blue background 8. If you want to check for duplicate records, check the "Key" checkbox next to the fields you want to use for duplicate checking. **IMPORTANT** - if you don t want duplicates to be added to the database, select do not add duplicates in the section above. 9. Then when you're done - in section #7, add any static values to fields (Like "Prospect" in the ID Status field - or put in an identifier in the Import source field - this is a good idea to make it easy to find the imported records just in case you want to delete the import and try again) 10. Click Import.

Importing Data from Database Microsoft XLS (not xlsx) Before you can import into WiredContact you need to upload your xls (not xlsx) to the server, go to the Library icon on the left and upload the spreadsheet into your Personal Library preferably into a folder called Lists 1. For an import database operation - you need to get the excel file to the server first. Go to Library > Personal Library. Upload the file to your Personal Library. (Once you are on the folder you want, click on the piece of paper with a paperclip to upload). 2. Navigate to your My Record contact in WiredContact (from the Lookup or Contact view, click this icon ). 3. Click on the purple lock. 4. At the bottom is a menu option for Import Data from Database. Click on the link. 5. To locate your data navigate to the Private folder where you will see your name, within here you will see your spreadsheet which you will now select.

Then in the Import dialog will appear: #1 leave blank (unless you have a file with the same mapping as a previous import) #2 select the user you want as the Record Manager usually this will be you. #3 Select the Alias Type to MS Excel, and then click the Next button in the upper right. Then click Next again. As long as there is only one worksheet in your file, the SQL Command should be correct. Skip to #6, and map the field in the spreadsheet to the field in the database -example data for the first 3 records will appear on the right. If you want to check for duplicate records, check the "Key" checkbox next to the fields you want to use for duplicate checking. **IMPORTANT** - if you don t want duplicates to be

7 added to the database, select do not add duplicates. Then when you're done - in section #7, add any static values to fields (Like "Prospect" in the ID Status field or your Franchise ID in the Managing Team field (MT) - or put in an identifier in the Import source field - this is a good idea to make it easy to find the imported records just in case you want to delete the import and try again) Then - when you're really done - click the Next button in the upper right again. If you'll be doing this import from the same spreadsheet several times, you can put in a name in the #1 field - Import Map. That way you can retrieve these settings for the next one when you're ready. After you double check your work - click the Import icon in the upper left - and it will take care of the rest.
