GERBER builds on all the previous OMEGA features and stability, and offers smart new usage enhancements! See below for a summary of new features, and see the attached "What's New in " document for complete details: Groups of Groups offers smarter, easier job organization Improved EPS/AI/PDF import optionally keeps original CMYK colors The PLT Extract program now shows Gerber vinyl and GerberColor Foils costs in extracted results. A new Gerber PDF export filter with support for named spot colors and CutContour can be used for presentation Automatically merge selected fields from PLT Extract results back into Composer PLT files for customer presentations or business tracking purposes. On-screen constraints with the ALT key is even better as it can be used with detail editing on on-screen digitizing. Outline function now has "Outside Contour Only," and Shadow now included a "Hide Original" feature. Press F8 to show filled/wireframe, and scroll with the mouse wheel while in Composer dialog boxes. This makes contextual design even easier when using the "Apply" button in Composer dialog boxes. Plot Backcut improvements, clipping path display enhancements and many other features make the best OMEGA ever! is available in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Dutch, and Chinese Summary of New Seat and Upgrade Offerings Effective March 1, 2017, will become the standard software offering for upgrades, new seats and options. Please see below for a summary of offerings. New seat products are unchanged from OMEGA 6.0; however some of the upgrades have been combined to reduce the number of upgrade permutations. The 6.5 upgrade combinations are slightly different from the 6.0 upgrades. A complete chart of part numbers and prices is at the end of this newsletter.

GerberNet passwords can once again be generated using your Gerber EService account. GerberNet upgrades qualify for an additional 5% discount off list price (35% vs 30%), and allow for faster servicing of upgrade customers. Contact Sales Support for more information about GerberNet Upgrades. Key Only Upgrades All GA to and OMEGA 1.5x / 2.0 / 2.1x to 6.5 Upgrade orders must be placed through Gerber. They are not available as GerberNet upgrades. These upgrades include a new USB security key that will be serialized at Gerber. Serial number and system ID information must be provided with the order. Password Upgrades OMEGA 6.0 to 6.5; 4.0 and 5.0 to 6.5; and 2.5x/2.6x and 3.0 to Upgrades can be ordered either with a password, as GerberNet upgrades, or with a new USB security key. New Security Key upgrades We now offer "New Key Upgrades" for OMEGA 6.0 to 6.5; 4.0 and 5.0 to 6.5; and 2.5x/2.6x and 3.0 to Upgrades. Theses upgrades cost $50 (list price) more than password upgrades. The New Key versions of these upgrades are available if the original Omega key is damaged and therefore cannot get a password upgrade. The original damaged key must be returned to Gerber on an RMA. If the damaged key is not returned within 30 days, we will debit you for the cost of a new seat, less what you paid for the upgrade. Please make sure your customer understands this obligation. Correct Information Required All upgrade orders require complete and correct serial numbers and system ID numbers. Missing or incorrect information will result in delayed shipments. Please note that the OMEGA Security key must

3 be present on the PC to accurately read the serial number. Run the Security Key Report (Winblock) on the OMEGA DVD for the most reliable information. Information, Installation and Ordering Details The DVD includes all software, fonts, Gerber ClipArt Libraries, ICC profiles, documentation, and What s New videos. will be posted on Eservice and but this will not run properly without purchased security key permissions. All OMEGA orders will be entered as as of February 27, OMEGA 6.0 will no longer be available as of that date. shipments will begin March 1, Gerber will become the standard OMEGA software for all OMEGA new seats and upgrades. The Multiple Upgrade Program Distributor Discount is 20% for. OMEGA ImageRIP is no longer supported or included with. The ART Path AutoCarve Option includes a password to activate the AutoCarve capability. 3D AutoCarve ONLY runs on 32 bit operating systems. The Gerber Braille Interpreter Option has not been offered for more than six years as a new product, but if upgrading from a previous version, it requires a 32 bit OS. Please also note: The Gerber Library Pack ($495 value) is included with at no additional charge. See "Getting Started" and "What's New" for installation details. The EDGE Font Pack and the Highway Font Pack are now standard with new seats and upgrades. See "Getting Started" for installation details. The Gerber Signshop Helper vehicle templates have been updated to more current versions. All GRAPHIX ADVANTAGE to Upgrades will automatically be upgraded to CP. This provides an extra incentive to upgrade to. OMEGA CL customers who upgrade to will be upgraded to CS automatically as part of the standard upgrade pricing. The OMEGA base set fonts converted to Truetype fonts are no longer included with. They are still available for matching purposes in the Find My Font Gerber OMEGA Edition online database. Recent Purchases of OMEGA 6.0 New Seats and Upgrades New OMEGA 6.0 seats or Upgrades to OMEGA 6.0 purchased by customers since December 1, 2016 qualify for an upgrade for a list price of $95 per upgrade. Reduced-price OMEGA 6.0 Layout Stations purchased by customers since December 1, 2016 are also eligible to be upgraded to for a list price of $95. Free Layout Stations received in January 2017 do not qualify for this recent upgrade promotion. There are no multiple upgrade discounts available for these discounted Recent Upgrade offers. Distributors must fill out the Recent Upgrade coupon at the end of this newsletter to get these Recent Upgrade offers. A distributor-to-customer invoice showing the sale of the above products to the customer during these timeframes must be included with this coupon. These Recent Upgrade offers expire May 31, A 20% distributor discount applies to these reduced-price Recent Upgrade offers. March and April Upgrade Incentive for Upgrades Any Upgrade purchased and shipped on or before April 28, 2017 qualifies for an introductory incentive list-price savings of $50. Any upgrade orders placed between February 27, 2017 and April 28, 2017 will automatically receive this incentive pricing. The Multiple Upgrade discount CAN be combined with this $50 list price savings. The $50 list price discount is applied first, then the 20% MUP discount is applied second. To summarize: programs, including Composer and GSPPlot Programs will run on 32 or 64 bit versions of Windows 7, Windows 8.0/8.1, or Windows 10. will load on Windows Vista but is not recommended. will not load on Windows XP or other earlier operating systems.

5 REQUIRED with : DVD ROM drive (DVD read/write recommended); at least 2 USB ports; Ethernet port (for the EDGE FX and network connections), 9-pin serial port OR the Gerber USB to Serial Adapter (P83305A) for vinyl cutters; See note below about 9-pin serial port compatibility. Parallel ports are not supported by Windows 7, 8 or 10. Therefore the Gerber USB to Parallel Cable (P83301A; list price = $99) is required for use with the GERBER EDGE and EDGE 2. The Gerber Edge and Gerber Edge 2 can be used with Windows 32 or 64-bit operating systems with this Gerber USB to Parallel Adapter Cable. Minimum CPU, RAM, and hard drive requirements are essentially dictated by your operating system. While Gerber recommends a minimum Pentium 4 or 1 GHz Multicore CPU, 100 GB of free hard disk space, 2 GB RAM and 1024x million color monitor, better hardware configurations can significantly make design and output processing faster. Faster PCs and hardware upgrades are quite inexpensive and can save many hours over the course of usage. If you have a GERBER EDGE FX, you can use 32 or 64 bit versions of the above operating systems. This is because the EDGE FX uses Ethernet, which is supported by 32 and 64 bit versions of Windows. OS support for serial ports is becoming more limited and may not work with specific PC and OS combinations. Gerber offers a USB to Serial Cable Adapter (P83305A; list price = $99) if installing a Gerber plotter on a PC without a nine pin serial port. Gerber highly recommends the use of this serial cable adapter because of variations in off-the-shelf USB to serial cables that may or may not work with Gerber plotters. Be sure to have backup hardware and software for all of your important design and customer files. Technical Support for Older Versions of Gerber Software Beginning May 1, 2017, GERBER no longer supports OMEGA 2.5x/2.6x or lower. GRAPHIX ADVANTAGE, OMEGA 1.5X, OMEGA 2.0X.2.1X and OMEGA 2.5X/2.6X. Gerber ImageRIP is not supported and will not load on at all. This includes Marketing, Training and Transition Tools includes many informational and transition tools to help users take advantage of all the great new features in. These tools are on the DVD and on as of February 20. Marketing activities include web blasts, a new sell sheet, web page updates, and all the training tools below. As noted above, there will also be an introductory upgrade incentive for upgrades. All products include a printed What s New document and a PDF file on the DVD. Getting Started with includes installation instructions. This document is included as a printed document and as a PDF file on the DVD. The PDF files of the user s manual on the DVD and web site have been updated with features. Gerber will offer customer and distributor webinars beginning in March Webinar scheduling and details will be covered in a separate newsletter. The OMEGA Demo mode can be used as a training tool by allowing customers to use OMEGA at additional seats without being able to save or output jobs to an EDGE, plotter, or router. The OMEGA 2.5 Learning Guide PDF file is still available as a PDF file on the DVD.
