1 Preview What s New in Nimbus Control Version Nimbus Partners Ltd

2 Introduction This document provides a preview of the new functionality scheduled for release in Nimbus Control version 8. You are reminded that this document is for preview purposes only and though it is unlikely that the final release will vary from the features summarized here, until the release is officially announced things can change. The exact release date has not yet been confirmed, but is likely to be Q Final and future release information can always be accessed from our website on the Software Latest Release page. New Branding To simplify the product name, Control 2007 has been re-branded as Nimbus Control and the Registry is now known as the Document Registry. Support for Windows 7 With effect from Nimbus Control Version 8, Windows 7 is supported for the authoring client. Note, the previous release (Nimbus Control v7.0.2) is already supported on Microsoft Windows Server 2008, Windows XP and Windows Vista.

3 Drawing To provide faster drawing capabilities and more attractive diagrams, process authors can quickly align and merge flow lines. Gradient object fills can also be applied to a number of objects. Action Management The new Action Management Module in Nimbus Control takes some of the previously disconnected actions that could be created and integrates this capability into various elements of the managed content within the application. This capability is added to both the web for execution and the author client for administration. This module creates the capability to enforce and measure a business s adoption of the operational practices captured. It is particularly relevant to self assessing a control structure against the risks and processes, as well as providing a more granular checklist capability for more regular use. Action Management Web Enablement A new section on users' My Workspaces - Actions - provides greater visibility for users to view their outstanding actions. 'Other Actions', which previously appeared under users' To-Dos, is now split into the various action categories under the new Action section, with overdue actions clearly indicated.

4 A new page - My Actions - allows users to easily view and manage all of their currently assigned actions. Viewing and managing individual actions for users is now much easier in the new Assignee's Action page. Quicker action sign offs Multiple actions can be quickly signed off through the new My Actions page. This assists Business Control Certification needs, such as OpRisk. Files and links can also be attached by users when completing actions. Updating Data Tables through Actions Forms created using data tables can be embedded into actions to allow the capture and updating of specific information through an action.

5 Action Management Author Administration Action Registry Actions can now be managed in a governed fashion by those with appropriate administrative access. The Action Registry allows the searching, editing, re-allocation and prioritization of actions.

6 The ability to control access for viewing and editing, as well as viewing links within the map, history and embedded data tables, are all accessible through the editing capability in the Action Registry. Link actions with statements Actions can be linked to statement records - statements, statement links, statement audits and statement link audit records. Recurring Action Templates can also be created to assist in the management and recording of daily checklists, self-certifications, etc.

7 More control over action categories and statuses Action categories can have their own sets of statuses associated with them, and individual statuses can be defined for both action owners and action assignees. Process Management View master and draft diagrams simultaneously In the web environment, the ability to view both the master and draft versions of a diagram simultaneously allows authorizers to easily see the differences between the two versions before authorizing content. Promote multiple maps Administrators have the ability to promote multiple maps in one operation. Easy access to archived maps Archived maps can now be easily accessed, including archived maps from previous versions of Control, without having to unpackage or migrate them first.

8 Targeting Information Targeting the right content to the right users results in better knowledge management. Design users' My Workspaces Administrators have the ability to design the layout of user groups' Home pages more easily. Target process maps and documents quickly Administrators can easily add maps and documents to the Home pages of multiple user groups in one operation. End User Enhancements Track document usage View and access the diagrams that use a particular document in the Document Usage report, available from the Document Details page. This assists users that are responsible for documents and their control. Integration Integration with Salesforce.com To meet SFDC customer requirements and to demonstrate Nimbus' alignment as a SFDC partner, integration with Salesforce.com has been implemented. A new dedicated attachment link type - Salesforce URL - with corresponding report capabilities is now available. Salesforce.com Dashboards can also be registered in Nimbus Control as managed scorecards.

9 Extended integration with SAP Visualize SAP usage data for individual users on top of a SAP Business Blueprint Statement Set. SAP transaction usage can be extracted by Nimbus partners ECL and HRW and then imported into Nimbus Control to supplement (via data tables) an existing SAP Solution Manager-type statement set. Create and update statement sets from process maps. Compare an existing business process structure with the process structure defined in SAP Solution Manager. When updating a map from a statement set, an option will now convert SAP transaction codes to SAP transaction links on parent activities. This is useful for creating a starting point to building out process diagrams if a process structure already exists in SAP Solution Manager. Languages View all language variants used within diagrams A new report - Object Language Text Usage - lists all language variants used in selected diagrams. Use this report to monitor which languages have been used after unpacking a map from another process repository. Access all user languages You can now access the text from other language variants via the Language drop-down field in the Text window. Transfer all text between language variants Change all map text from one language variant to another. This is especially useful after migrating from version 6.5 to 7.0, as any non-english US text is marked with the default English US language variant. Other Enhancements Data table audit logging Any changes to a data table are recorded in a new data table audit log. Easier management of diagram subscriptions Diagram scope lists can now be used to manage diagram subscriptions. Improved diagram integrity checking Diagram checking through the Integrity Check facility is now easier with the option to use diagram scope lists. Rename map folders Administrators and process authors now have the ability to rename map folders. Identify users' custom group memberships The User Details List report has been extended to provide details of users' custom group memberships. This assists in highlighting those users that are not members of any custom groups.

10 Preview What s New in Nimbus Control Version 8 Administration Replace user accounts Transfer one user account to another, for example when an employee leaves the company and is replaced by another employee. Perform an LDAP synchronization across multiple domains The LDAP synchronization has been updated so that different groups of users can be imported from multiple domains. Users are authenticated with the domain from where they were imported. Analyze individual web usage The Web Logs Utility has been extended to display results based on individual diagrams and the total page hits for individual users. Customize the menu and quick launch bar fonts Some additional flexibility is now available to help customers tailor the branding (look & feel) of the Nimbus Control web front end. The Web Color Configuration utility now allows the menu font and quick launch bar fonts in the web server to be modified. Storyboard Players Two new products are being launched as part of Nimbus Control v8 the Nimbus Control Player Desktop Edition and the Nimbus Control Player iphone Edition. Aimed at end users, it provides users with offline access to process content. Please note that these products are licensed and released separately from Nimbus Control. Nimbus Control Player Desktop Edition Users can download storyboards into their Nimbus Control Player Desktop Edition onto their PCs or laptops for offline viewing. A number of viewing modes are available and the user interface is fully customizable through the use of skins.
