5 1 Information regarding this manual 1 Information regarding this manual The KNX ENO Tool software is used to edit links that have been created between various ENOCEAN sensors or actuators and the gesis KNX FLEX ENO32 gateway. The teaching of sensors and actuators can be controlled entirely via remote control using this software. The existing configurations of a gateway can be read, changed on the PC, archived, and then transferred back to the same or a different gateway. Additionally, a bus monitor is included that makes it possible to display ENOCEAN telegrams in a window on the monitor via the connection of the KNX bus. Wieland Electric GmbH BA (Rev.A) 09/2014 5

6 2 Installation 2 Installation An installation assistant will support you during the installation of the Tool. Download The "KNX ENO Tool 63x" software is available free of charge as a zip file in the download area of the Wieland e-catalog or the Wieland Internet site. Knx_Eno_63x_Tool.zip Prior to installation Before the installation, close all other open programs on your computer. This will prevent problems during the installation. Open the zip file. Double-click file Setup_KnxEnoTool_63x exe in order to start the installation. "Welcome" page Once you have started the installation, the installation assistant will open on the "Welcome" page: Click on `Weiter` in order to continue the installation. 6 Wieland Electric GmbH BA (Rev.A) 09/2014

You can specify a different directory via `Durchsuchen` (browse). "Specify start menu folder" page This is the page where you can specify which entries and links you can use to start the program.

7 2 Installation "Select target directory" page This is the page where you specify the installation directory. The assistant will suggest a standard directory: If you click directly on `Weiter` (continue), the tool will be installed in the proposed standard directory. You can specify a different directory via `Durchsuchen` (browse). "Specify start menu folder" page This is the page where you can specify which entries and links you can use to start the program. Folder in the start menu: Select a predefined folder from the selection list. Or enter your own folder name. Activate via desktop: By default, the assistant will create a desktop link. If you do not want this, place a checkmark in at `Keine Verknüpfungen erstellen` (do not create link). By clicking on the `Installieren` (install) button, you will start the installation with the settings you have specified in the assistant. Wieland Electric GmbH BA (Rev.A) 09/2014 7

This must then be confirmed with a mouse click on `Fertig stellen` (finish).

10 3 Working with the configuration tool 3.1 Requirements In order to use the configuration tool, the gateway and the channels to be programmed must have already been pre-configured with the assistance of the EIB tool software (ETS) and programmed with a physical address. You will only be able to link the individual channels with ENOCEAN radio sensors or radio actuators or view and edit created links with the KNX ENO Tool software after this step. To ensure that the software and hardware can communicate with each other, the computer must be connected to a KNX/USB interface via a USB cable or to an IP interface via an Ethernet cable. The ENOCEAN gateway must then be connected to the corresponding interface via the KNX bus. The KNX bus voltage with the gateway is used for communication and as a power supply. 3.2 Establishing connection and reading memory After the software has been started, the following window will open. 10 Wieland Electric GmbH BA (Rev.A) 09/2014

Step 1: Storing the connection data In the first step, you must set the interface connected for the communication (USB; IP).

If you are using a USB interface: Select `USB1(TP)x.x.x` USB settings: Step 2: Creating a connection to the interface In step 2 create the connection between the computer and the corresponding interface. The following buttons are available for this: Button Description Establishes the connection to the selected interface. The connection is active. An existing connection will be disconnected if selected. Opens a window with the interface settings. Example: Additional functions and buttons In addition to the buttons for setting up the connection, the following functions are available to you: Symbol Description Saves the currently open KNX ENO Tool file as a project. Procedure Press the `KNX` button on the gateway. The LED on the unit will light up. Click on the `Read Learn` button in the configuration tool. The address will be read by the selected gateway.

If multiple units are connected, you will have to repeat this process in a new window accordingly.

Step 3: Read memory To enable a gateway to be edited with this tool, the unit address must be read by the gesis KNX FLEX ENO32 gateway via the connecting interface in the next step. Procedure Press the `KNX` button on the gateway. The LED on the unit will light up. Click on the `Read Learn` button in the configuration tool. The address will be read by the selected gateway. The physical address of the gateway programmed by the ETS (e.g ) will appear in the `Device Address` field. If multiple units are connected, you will have to repeat this process in a new window accordingly. The following query will then appear directly following this: In order to create a bidirectional connection to the gateway, click on `Yes` in the query. The LED turns off at the selected gateway. Then you can read the memory contents for the connected gateway. In order to read the memory contents, click on the button under `Remote Device Session`. 14 3.3 Assigning a base ID Background Typically, information from an ENOCEAN telegram is sent together with the chip ID from the unit. This ensures a high level of reliability with respect to assigning the same types of telegrams with different sensors or actuators. Each telegram is thus unique. The disadvantage of this method quickly becomes obvious, e.g., if the user has to replace a gateway with its 32 channels and up to 128 assignments from a system in the event of a repair. This case, all of the ID assignments from the individual channels have to be relearned. Base ID In order to prevent this, it is possible to replace the existing gateway with any similar type of gateway and to adopt the existing IDs without the links having to be relearned. To this end, a so-called base ID is obtained. This base ID can be set at any gateway and be changed up to 6 times. In the event of this gateway, the radio telegrams are not sent in the typical manner, together with the chip ID, but rather with the base ID. The time-intensive teaching after a unit replacement is omitted. The user only has to set the same base ID on the new gateway. The links can then be transferred 1:1 with the assistance of the backup file from the old gateway and the KNX ENO Tool. Recommendation: In any case, the base ID existing in the unit should also be noted in the unit description of the ETS (EIB tool software) for a possible replacement of the gateway. Thus, this base ID is also retained for reprogramming in the event of a gateway failure. Also create a backup file for any gateway in the project. 14 Wieland Electric GmbH BA (Rev.A) 09/2014

Example: ID1 of channel 1 is selected. You can then manually enter the corresponding ID from the sensor to be taught. Subsequently, the entry is confirmed with a click on this symbol.

15 3.4 Teaching radio transmitters/sensors (rockers/buttons) You can teach radio switches and sensors in two ways. Option 1: Direct input of the ID You enter the ID directly into the corresponding ID1 to ID4 field. To this end, you must select the ID field of the desired channel. Example: ID1 of channel 1 is selected. You can then manually enter the corresponding ID from the sensor to be taught. Subsequently, the entry is confirmed with a click on this symbol. Option 2: Teach the ID via radio telegram Once you have the sensor at hand, it is also possible to teach the ID via radio telegram from the sensor/button. Procedure Click on the symbol. A dialog window will open (example representation). Using the navigation buttons, switch to the desired channel (1-32). Click on the symbol. Teaching of the ID will be activated. After the radio information is received, the corresponding sensor ID is assigned to the first available memory sight and displayed on the screen. In this example, it is ID 00 8B 06 D6.

16 You will see the following dialog window (example representation). The corresponding ENOCEAN unit can then be taught. Information on the setting Depending on the configuration in the ETS, one radio telegram, or even 3 radio telegrams following one another from the sensor/button, are necessary for teaching an ID. After the radio information is received, the corresponding sensor ID is assigned to the first available memory sight and displayed on the screen. In this example, it is ID 00 8B 06 D6. Additional actions are possible via the toolbar. Symbol Description Deletes a particular ID. The deletion of a particular ID is also possible in this window. A previously taught sensor/button can be explicitly deleted again with this function. If this button is active, the radio signal from the sensor must be sent once or three times again after each parameterization, just as with the teaching procedure. The ID from the corresponding sensors/button is thus removed. Deletes all IDs on the selected channel. Note If the user would like to delete a particular ID from a channel without the corresponding ENOCEAN unit being available, this can also be done through a direct input of the ID "FF FF FF FF" at the corresponding location in the channel. The base ID of the unit to be replaced must be known. Procedure Start the KNX ENO Tool ( page 11, "step 1"). Establish a connection with the unit ( page 11, "step 2"). Click button. The configuration window will open. The same base ID that the previously used gateway had is then entered in this window. Confirm the ID with a click on "Set ID". Then close the window. Open the backup file from the original unit and establish the remote connection to the new gateway. To do this, press the KNX button on the unit (step 3). Click on the "Read address" button in the KNX ENO Tool, confirm, and read in the physical address from the new gateway. If no change has been made on the KNX page, the physical address should remain unchanged here. Wieland Electric GmbH BA (Rev.A) 09/

Confirm the query regarding switch-off of the LED and click on the connect button. Start the remote connection to the unit.

- If you wish to accept the IDs that have been already stored in the unit, select the "Use configuration from unit" option.

Select transfer mode. - If you wish to accept the ID settings and data stored in the file, select the "Use local configuration" option. - If you wish to accept the IDs that have been already stored in the unit, select the "Use configuration from unit" option. A checkmark next to a channel confirms the matching of software and configured unit at the corresponding channel. Confirm the configuration with OK. The edited or confirmed data must then be written into the unit memory. To this end, click on the following symbol: A query window will open. Confirm the query with "Yes". 19 3.6 Bus monitor In order to log ENOCEAN radio telegrams and KNX telegrams being sent from the gateway, it is possible to start a bus monitor that is integrated into the software.
