1 Updating from 4.3 to The success of your update depends on adequate planning and resources. Please review the complete Updating Salesware Modules document for information on the general updating process. You will find specific information about each version and should review the Update Notice for each release on the Siriusware Information Portal in Downloads > X.XX Salesware. Timing Depending on the demand for e-commerce updates your lead time may be several weeks. Please request updates as far in advance as possible to meet deadlines. E-Commerce This update can be performed after you have your pools back up. 1. Download the Ecommerce_pages_xxx.xxxx.exe from your FTP folder. 2. Choose or create a temporary folder to unzip the files by double clicking on the.exe file. Note: Do not unzip them directly into your live web site at this time. 3. Make a copy of the /bin folder for your web site. Repeat this process for all web sites you want to update. 4. Copy the new bin files from your temporary folder to the /bin directory in the root of your web site. Repeat this process for all web sites you want to update. 5. Reset IIS. 6. Test the web site. Look for the new version in about.aspx, and delete the temporary files once you have validated the site. GL Integrations Do you have GL integration to an accounting system? Any update to the software can affect GL integration or custom reports. Note: If you have a Siriusware support contract for your GL integration, we ensure your integration functions with the latest updates but we do require at least a two week lead time on update requests. Configuration changes to products and setup that affect the GL integration is not covered in a support contract, so plan ahead and schedule time prior to making changes to ensure there is no down time with your integration. 1

2 Do you have custom reports created by Siriusware Inc. in Reporting Services? If so, please submit a footprint with Professional Services to ensure these reports function with the current version. The cost to update reports to function with new versions is not covered in any support contract. Replication Do you use replication? Siriusware Inc. does not support replication so please disable this before updating. JCA Do you have a JCA integration? Please notify Siriusware Technical Support prior to updating. We will work with JCA to make the appropriate changes to your Razor s Edge database. This work will be scheduled for you through Siriusware. Read the Updating Salesware Modules document 2. Make sure that all Windows Updates are current on all servers, salespoints and any computer running Windows and any Siriusware software application. 3. Install.NET 4.0 (This can be downloaded from on any computers running the following applications: Pool Service ServiceMonitor E-Commerce pages Self-Entry pages Messenger Service 4. Check available hard space. 5. Check. We strongly recommend using the recommended requirements rather than the minimum. 6. Create a temporary Updates folder on the desktop of the SQL server. 7. Download all update files from Downloads > Updates > which can be found at the Siriusware Information Portal. You should check for updates in 4.3 Salesware, Optional Modules, Reports, Utilities and Zip codes. Steps to Update 5 For management stations running SysManager or ReportManager, 100 MByte is the minimum requirement and 1 GByte is recommended. 7

8 1. Close all Salesware applications 2. Verify you are on SQL Server Version 2005 or newer. 3. Backup your SiriusSQL database. 4. Database Compatibility level a. In SQL Management Studio right click on the SiriusSQL database and choose Properties. b. Click on Options on the left side of the dialog and set the Compatibility Level to SQL Server 2005 (90) or higher. Note: If it was already set correctly, simply click OK To find your version using SQL Server Management Studio run the following query on your SiriusSQL database, select * from metadata. The following script is required to get updated to SiriusSQL 4.3 SP1 from version 4.3. The update script can be downloaded from the following page on the portal Downloads > Updates > 4.3 Salesware. 9 a. With all users out of Siriusware software applications run the SQL update script. Once the script finishes running, verify that the results at the bottom of the SQL query window indicate that the script completed WITHOUT errors. Important: If you see any errors at all, STOP and call Siriusware Technical Support as the database backup must be restored immediately. Update Files 1. Place the new application update files in your SiriusFS\Updates or Siriusware\Updates folder. (Similar to past updates.) Be sure to include the c_s_misc.exe file for zip codes for Sales Updating Middleware 1. Open the Update Pool folder and launch the update by double clicking on the shortcut. SysManager 1. In SysManager go to Utilities, select Data Maintenance, and then select MaxKeys on Server. 9
