1 User's Manual FieldMate R Operational Precaution IM 01R01A01-91E This document supplements information regarding Operational Precaution before use on IM 01R01A01-01E. By clipping the interface hardware on the live cables, FieldMate can be used to change any device parameter. OPERATE THE PRODUCT CAREFULLY BASED ON THE FOLLOWING CAUTION, NOTE AND RESTRICTION. I. Caution a) Connection The FieldMate should not be connected to the terminal box or the field devices when the control system is in operation. (i.e. CENTUM system or other Venders control system) b) Modem The modem connection is applied in non-hazardous area only. And the modem should not be connected to the cables with over 75VDC/50VAC. Note Installer & General a) Software Install PRM and FSA210 cannot coexist in the same PC. b) Software Install FieldMate installer does not cover the followings: NI-FBUS Communication Manager PROFIusb driver and COMM DTM Install separately according to their instructions. c) Software installer PC with Microsoft Network Client and Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) is required for proper installation d) Stand-by Mode on PC It is not advisable to use the PC stand-by mode. As after recovery, NI-FBUS may not respond. e) Windows User Log on to Windows with Administrator privileges, then or to start and operate FieldMate. f) Handling of 3rd party DD and DTM Although 3rd party DD and DTM are included in the Device Files CD-ROM, Yokogawa certifies the quality and operability of only our DD and DTM. g) Default password for Administrator When a new user is assigned in User Management, subsequent log in as DefaultUser or administrator requires the case sensitive password, FieldMate. h) CD-ROM installer If installation does not start automatically, double-click the following files. 3 2 Foundation Fieldbus H1 Communication a) NI-FBUS Setting Using the Foundation Fieldbus H1 communication function, define the NI-FBUS before use as follows. Device Address = Visitor Device Type = Link Master: ( Basic to be specified when the other Host exists) Usage = NI-FBUS b) Device Class Setting The device may not appear on the Segment Viewer immediately after changing Foundation Fieldbus H1 device class on Device Class Setting. Update is required approximately 30 seconds later. c) NI-FBUS: How to clear VCR See the appendix 01. DTM Works a) DTM License Some device DTM and COMM DTM specify the relevant Frame Application where they can perform with the check function built-in. Even if they can be used on Pactware, they may not be compatible with FieldMate. b) How to update DTM See the appendix 02.

4 3 III. Restriction Installer & General a) Device Tag Name The characters of device tag cannot include [,] [.] [!] : Comma, Period and Exclamation mark. It is advisable to exclude the irreverent text from the device tag name. I.e. if the irreverent text is located in the middle of device tag string such as TI01,01, only former parts before the irreverent text is displayed in Segment Viewer such as TI01. If the irreverent text is located in the head of device tag string such as!ti001, nothing is displayed in Segment Viewer. And the irreverent device tag name cannot be entered from Parameter Manager, etc. Modem and interface card a) Interface hardware It is not advisable to disconnect while communication is established. It may cause the damage of communication driver, FieldMate software, etc. Any of the followings: HART Modem: HART communication FiedlMate Modem: BRAIN/HART communication NI-FBUS card: FOUNDATION fieldbus communication PROFIusb: PROFIBUS communication Main Windows a) Scroll Bar on the Device Navigator The scroll bar for search function may not appear on the Device Navigator. Change the window size and the scroll bar will be recovered. b) History on Basic version Filtering by User is not effective in the Basic version. It is advisable to leave the field blank. DTM Works a) Disconnect Operation in DTM When Disconnect command is activated while FieldMate is in communication with the field device, DTM Works may not be able to close. Terminate DTM works process on Windows task manager. b) DTM parameter refresh More time may be anticipated than the setting value of the refresh rate on the screen.

5 4 DD Menu Device Viewer c) PROFIBUS DTM More than one PROFIBUS device DTM cannot start from Segment Viewer at a time due to comm DTM or driver constraint. d) Message from PROFIBUS DTM Block name of work and operation implemented on DTM works are not shown in History. e) PROFIBUS DTM help window If parameter cannot be accessed after opening online help window by clicking? icon in the screen, open another window by selecting menu tree and try to access the parameter again. f) PROFIBUS DTM for AXF It is advisable to use PROFIBUS COMM DTM, PROFIusb DPV1 V2.4 or later. g) PROFIBUS DTM Clicking the default setting button on the left bottom corner in offline parameter window may cause communication error. In this case restart DTM Works. h) HART DTM Clicking the refresh icon in disconnect status may cause communication error. In this case restart DTM Works. i) Foundation Fieldbus DTM (except EJX910) and HART DTM for EJA Differences are found between device default value and DTM value on starting offline parameter. i.e. value:0, character: space, selected item: top a) Historical Message On DD Menu, history is saved in the form of block tag name for Foundation Fieldbus H1 device. In contrast, on Parameter Manager, it is saved in the form of general block tag name, which indicates the type and number of the block. a) Parameter update While Device Viewer is open, changing the polling address or engineering unit, the relevant display is not updated. Close Device Viewer and start again.

6 5 Appendix 01: How to clear VCR Outline Although FieldMate has adopted NI-FBUS communication card of National Instrument for Foundation Fieldbus H1, the communication card itself contains the following glitches. If the specific operation continues, VCR, Foundation Fieldbus H1 communication resources, may reach the maximum limit (100), eventually communication with Foundation Fieldbus H1 device cannot be established thereafter. Note: the specific operation After starting NI-FBUS Communications Manager, PC is off or stand-by (not shutdown) and start again. Then change the Foundation Fieldbus H1 segment connection. If the problem above is encountered, clear VCR of NI-FBUS card by this tool incorporated in FieldMate. VCR (Virtual Communication Relationship) A Fieldbus device has many VCRs so that it can communicate with various devices or applications at the same time. It is possible because the VCR guarantees the message goes to the correct partner without risks of losing information. A VCR is identified by an application with device-local identifier called index specified in Application Layer. It is also identified from other devices with DL-address specified in Data Link Layer. A VCR has a queue (fast-in, fast-out memory) or a buffer (memory to store data) to save messages. It is the responsibility of network configuration to give the correct information of the index and DL-address as well as other operating information to VCRs through Network Management.

7 6 Screen The port overview of NI-FBUS card is displayed. NI-FBUS with a port displays one. Max VCR is displayed. The current NI- FBUS card always shows 100. It displays the port overview of NI-FBUS card installed in PC. Max first index No, used VCR, unused VCR. Effective in 2 port type Clear VCR The used VCR is displayed Max 100. The first Index No of unused VCR is displayed. Exit thetool Figure: FM NIFBUS Clear Operation Procedure In case that Foundation Fieldbus H1 communication suddenly stops, which functioned properly on FieldMate before, execute the following operation procedure. 1. Activate /FM/Tool/FMNIFBUSClear.exe 2. A window above is displayed. Check Number of Configured VCRs. If the values are close to 100, VCR needs to be cleared. Proceed 3 If the values are small, the other cause of trouble such as communication card disorder is expected. 3. Select Clear Stored VCRs and exit. 4. Restart FieldMate and check whether Foundation Fieldbus H1 communication functions properly.

8 7 Appendix 02: How to update DTM Library Outline Included device DTM of BRAIN, Foundation Fieldbus, HART and PROFIBUS are supplied in the form of DTM Library. They can be updated, entering User Site downloading the relevant DTM Library folder, double-clicking the Setup.exe file in it. On this procedure, your PC with FieldMate can keep device DTM latest. Note: Using the Add Remove Programs utility in the Windows Control Panel, installed DTM revision can be compared with DTM on the web. Procedure for DTM Log in from User site. Select Information.

9 8 Select Information on Equipment. Download the latest files to your PC and double-click.exe in the folder.
