3 ASSEMBLY / PARTS LIST How to attach your CP-D90DW Printer to the NUC 1. Attach metal plate to the back of the D90 printer using (2) silver screws. (Note: Make sure to point arrow up on metal plate) 2. Attach black screw to the back of the NUC. 3. Insert NUC with attached screws to the metal plate on the back of the D90 printer. 4. Connect USB Cable to the D90 printer and power adapter to the NUC. 5. Plug NUC to an outlet and press power button on the NUC. *Make sure D90 Printer power is on before powering up the NUC. ame and use new admin/user password Parts List Contents Qty. Do not unplug the power of the NUC without shutting down the system. Do not uplug USB cable from the NUC to the printer w/o properly shutting down the system. Proper shutdown; press the NUC's power button or perform a shutdown from the web program thru the admin user. 3

4 Simple Setup Workflow FunPrint basic setup workflow is as follows; 1) Wi-Fi connection to the PC box from a mobile device. Select SSID for the PC Box at Wi-fi setup menu of your mobile device 2) Start Application Tap "Start Application" button. For Android, manually open Chrome browser. For ios10.3.x, manually open Safari. 3) Move to Setup Log in screen Go to 4) Log in as Admin Default password is " admin " 5) Tap "Stop Service" button. 6) Tap "Frame/Layout Setup", and "2. 5 OPERATION Wi-Fi SETUP Wi-Fi Setup <Android> 1. Open Smart Phone/Tablet Wi-Fi setting. Connect to: SSID of PC BOX 1) If Notification area shows Wi-Fi connection, Swipe down to access the notification area at top of screen. 2) Touch "Sign into Wi-Fi network" 2. Open Android browser (Chrome is recommended) and start application. *If a web page is not automatically redirected, type "a.jp" at URL window. 3. 6 OPERATION Wi-Fi SETUP <ios 9, 10, 11.2> 1. Open Smart Phone/Tablet Wi-Fi setting. Connect to: SSID of PC BOX 3. The application starts automatically on Safari browser. 2. Welcome screen automatically pops up. Tap "Start application" <ios > 1. Open Smart Phone/Tablet Wi-Fi setting. Connect to: SSID of PC BOX 3. Tap "Done" at the top right to close this screen. 2. 8 OPERATION FUN PRINT SERVICE Fun Print Service Fun Print allows selection of up to 6 images from your mobile device and place them in a pre-format template. Can preview and edit each image before printing. The feature and functions are: Customized screen colors with a capability of showing any shop or campaign logo Easy Layout/Frame setting wizard Configurable up to 6 images per print Users can edit each image (size, angle, position and add decoration icons) Overlaid frame can be set ( Import the frame image from Easy print setup menu) Copies are selectable by end-users End-users can preview image(s) before sending it for printing 1. Choose a template design (No. 1-6). Note: When only one template is activated, this screen won't appear Tap on the square to place the photo in that location. 3. Optional: To edit the photo, touch the photo and hold, to show the edit menu. *Adjust size, position and angle or re-select image (center icon). 4. Optional: click Stamp to show Select Stamp screen. Choose a stamp and select a stamp size. Touch image to stamp

9 OPERATION FUN PRINT SERVICE 5. "Print Confirmed" screen will come up Set number of copies. 7. Tap "Print". Image will be uploaded to the system. 8. "Print Complete" screen with Print number and SSID of the system will come up

10 OPERATION EASY PRINT SERVICE Easy Print Service Easy Print provides a quick and easy way of printing stored images from mobile phones and tablets (ios and Android). This service feature and functions are: Quick print service One image per print Users can select an image from their photo library or take a photo and send it directly for printing thru Wi-Fi connection Easy Print 1 1. Press "Yes, I Agree to Terms and Conditions" Take photo or pick an image from Photo Library. 3. The image will be immediately uploaded to the system. Printing will begin shortly. 4. "Complete" screen with Print number and SSID of the system will come up

14 SETTINGS To access Settings, tap Stop service on the start screen and select OK. Go to Top Menu to access settings or Frame/Layout Setup for easy setup wizard for Funprint. All setting menu FunPrint Setup Wizard When Error occurs, eg. during auto archiving, Error dialog in red is shown. Tap the dialog to see Error details. 14

15 SETTINGS - SETUP WIZARD Frame/Layout Setup Wizard Follow steps to setup FunPrint settings. 1. FunPrint Frame Import Import: Store frame image(s) - png format - in the following directory in the USB: Fun Print: /(USB)/Smartp/funprint/frame/ 2. Funprint Layout Setting 1/7 Max. 6 different frame/layout designs can be set. Tap a layout to modify. Set Enable at lest 1 layout. 2/7 1) Customize Layout Name - max 15letter. 2) Select Print Size from drop down menu. 3/7 1) Select Layout type from drop down menu. 2) Enable or disable Auto Rotate. 15

16 SETTINGS - SETUP WIZARD Refer to 4. HotFolder Setting for available function names. 4/7 Select a thumbnail of Frame Design. 5/7 When Caption option is set Enable, Caption setting screen appears. 1) Select type of caption. When selecting "Free", input a free caption or a function name. When Index number is used for a caption, set the start number. 2) Set Font, Color and layout of the caption 6/7 Adjust Caption position by arrow buttons. A part of caption may be cut off if set at too close to top / bottom end. 7/7 Setup summary is shown Tap Finish or back to change setting. 16

17 SETTINGS - INFO TOP Menu 1. Print Info Print Info Print data sent from mobile devices are shown. [Note] "Validate" for a pending print job is effective when "Validation" at Hotfolder setting is enabled. "Reprint is effective for a print job of which Status is shown as "Completed". 2. Printer Info Print Number will be shown on a user's device. You can input the order number and search. Select Validate to print photo or Reprint. [Note] When "Auto Delete" at System setting is enabled, Print Info will disappear after printing is completed. (USB)/(System ID)/ OrderList_YYYYMMDD_yyyy mmdd.csv OrderTotal_YYYYMMDD_yyyy mmdd.csv YYYYMMDD: "from" Date yyyymmdd: "to" Date Tap Show to display statistics data. Insert a USB flash drive to the USB slot and tap Save for exporting statistics data in csv format. 20 SETTINGS 4. HotFolder Setting HotFolders ID are used for Easy Print Service 1 &2. To choose a HotFolder for Easy Print, go to: Service Setting > Web Print Setting HotFolders ID are used for Fun Print Service. Select a Preset Print Size from drop down menu. i.e. 10x15(4x6 ) Choose a Preset Layout from drop down menu. i.e. 10x15_Type2 *Make sure to select the same layout size specified in Print Size Layout: i.e.10x15_type2 Different frames will appear according to the number of times it is set to appear in the Freq (frequency) setting. Refer to Easy Print Layout and Frame Chart for more Details When "Variable" is selected for Layout, positions (x,y) and size (W,H) of image can be set. None, Frame select or Frame Rotation When Frame select is chosen, available frames are listed in the drop down menu. Be sure to Set to save settings. When Frame Rotation is chosen, Rotation Edit menu appears here. 20

22 SETTINGS 5. Print Setting Auto resume after recovery from an error state. Select Auto, UltraFine or Fine for setting parameters below. Gamma+1.cpd, Gamma+2.cpd or Gamma+3.cpd are selectable to adjust brightness of image. Level of Brightness by Gamma Table setting None < Gamma+1.cpd < Gamma+2.cpd < Gamma+3.cpd ( Normal) (Brighter) Be sure to Set to save settings. Print mode for each service must be set in HotFolder Setting menu > Quality. Auto Fine UltraFine Image quality parameters can be set for each Print Mode. For example: Adjust sharpness settings for Fine mode and Auto mode. 22

23 SETTINGS 6. Service Setting 6.1 Web Print Setting <Easy Print 1, Easy Print 2> Select Easy Print1 or Easy Print 2 Select a user defined HotFolder set by 4. HotFolder Setting Import additional Frame(s) if available or Delete unnecessary Frame(s). Be sure to Set to save settings. Easy Print uses an overlay frame on to a photo image with a transparent window. The window shape can be quadrangle, round or any shape. Store following directory for Easy frame image: /(USB)/Smartp/easyprint/frame/***.png <Fun print> Select Easy Print1 or Easy Print 2 See 6-3. Layout Setting (Note) See 6-4. Screen Setting Import additional Frame(s) if available or Delete unnecessary Frame(s). (Note) Be sure to Set to save settings. [Note] Layout Setting and Frame import are available at "Frame/Layout Setup" also. Store following directory for FunPrint underlaid frame image. /(USB)/Smartp/funprint/frame/***.png 23

24 SETTINGS <About Frames for Fun Print> The basic fame for Fun Print is Underlaid of the image, and image shape is always quadrangle. Frame/Layout Setup wizard for FunPrint allows to use the underlaid frame only. However, if Hotfolder setting for # is used, Overlay frame can be used for Fun Print also. The overlay frame can be a full size frame design with a transparent window for a photo image or overlay design like a logo or a character with a full size transparent canvas. [Import] Overlayed frame for Fun Print must be imported from Service Setting - Easy Print1 or 2 - Frame Setting - Import Store following directory for Overlayed frame image: /(USB)/Smartp/easyprint/frame/***.png [Note] The overlayed frame will not be displayed on Fun Print Service screen on user's mobile device, but added on a print. Overlayed [Use of frame] HotFolder Setting - ID 201, , corresponding to Layout number of Funprint from 1 to 6 - Frame - Frame select / Frame 6.2 Print Limit Setting Underlaid Max Print Count setting per system Max Print Count setting per device The above max count will be reset after the expiration time. System - Max Print Count Print service will stop when the total print reaches the setting value. i.e. If 1000 is set, the service stops when the number of prints reaches User - Max Print Count Sets max print count & timer for the user. Each device is allowed to print until each total print reaches the setting value. Print limit is reset after expiration time has passed. i.e. If 1 hour is set for Expiration Time, each mobile device can print up to 10 copies per hour. Another 10 copies on the next hour. 24

25 SETTINGS 6.3 Layout Setting (for Fun Print) - Advanced For easy setting, use Frame/Layout Setup wizard from the Start menu. Customize Layout Name. - max 15letter Select a Preset Print Size from drop down menu. i.e. 10x15(4x6 ) Choose a Preset Layout from drop down menu. i.e. 10x15_Type2 *Make sure to select the same layout size specified in Print Size Layout: i.e.10x15_type2 Refer to Fun Print Layout and Frame Chart for more Details When Variable is chosen for Layout, number of image(s) - up to 6, positions (x,y) and size (W,H) for each image can be defined. Available Frames are listed in the drop down menu. Be sure to Set to save settings. 25

26 SETTINGS 6.4. Screen Setting (for Fun Print and Welcome screen ) Note: When Easy Print1 or 2 service is active, these settings reflects Welcome screen only Preview image is shown. (example) Customization of color for the Welcome screen and FunPrint screens: Color of Background, Title Bar, Button and Text Import Logo image from USB drive. Delete Logo image Select Logo image Be sure to Set to save settings. Logo Image data requirements Logo file type : png format Logo file size : 1000 x 1000 pixels or less (Size of the sample logo file is 900 x 400 pixels) Store logo images in the following folder; /(USB)/Smartp/theme/***.png Use Alphabet and number for a logo file name. Do not include space in the name. 26

27 SETTINGS 7. System Setting No remedy for forgetting password. Make a note of new password(s) if changed. Automatically copy photo data to a designated device, SD card or USB Auto Archive will copy photo data to the following folder; Be sure to Set to save settings. /(USB or SD )/SmartpImages/****(systemID)/OrderData /PrintData * System ID is shown on Setup Start menu. *"Auto Delete" must be disabled for activating Auto Archive. *When SD card is used, insert or remove a SD card while the PC box is powered off. Time Zone and Date, Time settings [Note] Do not connect more than one USB drive to the PC Box at the same time. [Note] Be sure to reboot the PC after change of System Setting item(s). 27

28 SETTINGS Internal Wi-Fi Client mode * Set SSID and password for Wi-Fi router (Master router) that PC Box accesses. Set necessary network parameters by disabling DHCP, as needed. *Client mode allows Internet access when Master router has Internet connection. Bridge Mode Mobile devices lose Internet connection while connected to the system via Wi-Fi. Using Client mode and Bridge Mode, such mobile devices can access Internet, eg. photo storage in icloud. 29 SETTINGS External Wi-Fi (USB) AP mode Set SSID and password for PC External Wi-Fi (USB) setting for AP mode 1. Connect USB Wi-Fi adapter to a PC box. - Make sure to plug the USB port of the PC box before setting. 2. Apply External Wi-Fi (USB) settings 3. Reboot the system - Some USB Wi-Fi adapter may not be compatible. External Wi-Fi (USB) Client mode * External Wi-Fi (LAN) AP mode External Wi-Fi (LAN) Client mode * Set SSID and password for Wi-Fi router (Master router) that PC Box accesses. Set necessary network parameters by disabling DHCP, as needed. *Client mode allows Internet access when Master router has Internet connection. External Wi-Fi (LAN) Setting for AP mode 1. Set access point settings as follows: Mode: Access point mode Access point name: any SSID Wired LAN setting: IP Address setting: Fixed IP Address: Subnet mask: DHCP server: Disabled - Name of setting may differ depending on model - See operational manual of access point device for detail 2. Connect the Wi-Fi access point with LAN cable to the LAN port of apc box 3. Apply External Wi-Fi (LAN) settings 4. Reboot the system Set necessary network parameters by disabling DHCP, as needed. 29

30 SETTINGS 8. Additional Setting (Not Available : Future option) 9. Maintenance Original Photo data or Finished Photo data with a frame etc. or both can be manually exported to a USB Flash drive as a zip file. "Auto Delete" at 7. System Setting must be disabled for use of this service. *If "Auto Archive" at 7. System Setting is enabled, both data in JPEG format are automatically stored in a designated device. * Max Print Count See 6.2 Print Limit setting Export Photo data 1) Select Original Photo, Finished Photo or All. 2) Insert USB Flash Drive to the system. 3) Tap Export 4) Wait until a dialog "Successfully completed!" is shown. Delete All image data and print Info data. (Statistics data is not deleted.) Clear Max Print count Limit per system * Clear Max Print count Limit per each device * Service setting : System setting items like SSID, password are not included. Service & System setting : System setting items like SSID, password are included. Export Service Setting 1) Select Service setting or Service & System setting. 2) Insert USB Flash Drive to the system. 3) Tap Export 4) Wait until a dialog "Successfully completed!" is shown. 5) Remove the USB drive Import Service Setting 1) Insert USB Flash Drive including Export file to the system. 3) Tap Import 4) Tap OK on "Successfully completed!" dialog 5) Remove the USB drive and reboot the system. Note: Both systems for Export and Import must have the same software version. 30

The error state will continue if a photo with those print settings is sent to a printer. ( You cannot stop service even after reboot the PC.) [Method of recovery from the continued error state] 1. Press and hold the power button of PC to shutdown. 2. Power off Printer. 3. Turn on PC. 4. Log in with Admin, stop the service and go to Maintenance menu. 5. Tap "Clear all" to delete print jobs. ( All photo data will be deleted.) 6. Power on Printer. or, load CK-D746, D768, D868 or D769 media (both ribbon and paper). The pending job will be printed. 31

36 UPDATE Wi-fi Print System Software Update Procedure 1. Log in the maintenance mode and make sure that the current System Version is the update applicable version designated by a release note Software update is valid for System ver or later versions. <Update for > Applicable versions Ver.1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4 It takes about 20 minutes. Delete print (order) data from Maintenance - Clear All. (Save data first as necessary) 2. Shutdown the system. 3. Using Windows PC, create "SmartpUpdate" folder at the root directory of a USB flash drive and copy the update file "KT_V****.zip" in the folder. /(USB)/SmartpUpdate/KT_V****.zip 4. Insert the USB flash drive to a USB port of the system. 5. Power On the PC. The software update starts automatically. * Do not unplug the USB flash drive while updating. * Refer to a release note for approx. time to complete the update. 6. After the update, the PC will soon reboot automatically. There is no obvious sign showing the timing of automatic reboot. Check wi-fi SSID by a smart phone or other wireless device. If the Wi-Fi SSID of your system stably appears, the system is already rebooted. 7. Log in the Start menu and confirm that the System version is updated. 36

39 TROUBLE SHOOTING Always start out by turning the smart phone or tablet off and back on again to see the issue persists. How to properly shut down the system: 1. Press the NUC's power button. 2. or using the application, go to maintenance login: log in as an administrator. On the start screen, tap Shutdown. Warning: Do not unplug NUC from the power outlet w/o properly shutting down the system. Do not uplug USB cable from the NUC to the printer w/o properly shutting down the system. If the App isn't responding: 1. If the app is having issues, acting slow or giving problems, reload the browser screen. 2. If reloading the screen does not work, check Wi-Fi connection and make sure you are connected to.selfone_wifi_print If the Printer is not responding: Note: When logged in as an administrator, the start screen will show System: Error 1. Make sure your printer is plugged in and power is on. 2. Make sure that USB connection between the printer (Type B) and NUC (Type A) is secure. 3. Printer is out of paper and/or ink. a. Properly shut down the system and replace paper and/or ink, then power it back on and re-connect to the Wi-Fi. If the NUC is not responding: 1. Make sure the NUC is plugged in and power is on. 2.
