Effective April 30, 2015, Lenovo is withdrawing from marketing: IBM GPFS Single Server PVU-based offerings IBM Flex System Manager 3 Year offerings IBM Platform Resource Scheduler offerings Replacement program information Windows Server 2012 As the replacement for the withdrawn Windows Server 2012 offerings, selected Lenovo Server System x, BladeCenter, and PureFlex TM System server models can be shipped with the Microsoft TM Windows Server 2012 R2 Operating System. Also available from Lenovo Server are Downgrade offerings from Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard and Datacenter to Windows Server 2012 Standard and datacenter and from Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard and datacenter to Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard, Enterprise and Datacenter. Qualifying Lenovo Server Distributors can purchase Windows Server 2012 R2 Downgrade kits for distribution to Lenovo Server Business Partners (Resellers) for installation on Lenovo Server Systems x, BladeCenter and PureFlex System servers. The Windows Server 2012 R2 downgrade kits include both Media and activation Keys. When downgrading from Windows Server 2012 R2 to Windows Server 2012 or to Windows Server 2008 R2, the licensing rights of the Windows Server 2012 R2 product is maintained. With downgrade rights, end users are allowed to acquire Windows Server 2012 R2, but continue to use Windows Server 2012 or Windows Server 2008 R2 until they are ready to upgrade. When they are ready for Windows Server 2012 R2, they already have the license. Windows Server 2012 R2 to Windows Server 2012 or to Windows Server 2008 R2 downgrade rights are an end-user right, documented in the Software License Terms that customers accept upon first running Windows software. Qualifying Lenovo Server Distributors are authorized to distribute Windows Server 2008 R2 ROK downgrade editions with the distribution of Windows Server 2012 ROK upon an end-user request. To downgrade Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 to Windows Server 2012 or to Windows Server 2008 R2 software, customers must purchase a System x server with Windows Server 2012 R2 ROK software, accept the End User Software License Terms and then perform the downgrade or authorize a third party to perform it on their behalf. 4 If downgrading to Windows Server 2012 or to Windows Server 2008 R2, the end user cannot use the new Windows Server 2012 R2 operating system at the same time. If an end user chooses to downgrade to the Windows Server 2012 or to the Windows Server 2008 R2 operating system, the Distributor still must apply the Windows Server 2012 R2 operating system Certificate of Authenticity (COA) to the System x server. Agreement for the precise terms and conditions that govern use of the software.
