4.4 Viewing on a PC or Mac You have several options when using a PC or a Mac. You can either use the traditional browser, or the new MVP application. You also have the choice of using wired or Wi-Fi for connecting to the server. If you use the wired connection then you will get access to all the TV channels using multicast. If you use the wireless connection you will only get access to the HLS TV channel (BBC1 by default). To access the server using a PC or Mac, point a web browser to: or You will be presented with the screen shown below. Illustration 6: PC Main Landing Page From here you can either use the web browser to access Triplechoice, or you can download the MVP for you system. If you choose to use the browser, you will be taken to the Triplechoice sector selector (Illustration 2). Be aware that you will also need to enable and possibly install the TripleplayVLC plugin before you can play TV content. The MVP is the new desktop application which provides a browser and plug-in free media player application. To install the MVP on a PC or a MAC following the instructions below. Page 11 of 27

4.5 Installing the MVP Selecting the MVP link shown in Illustration 6 will take you to this page: Illustration 7: MVP Download Links From here, select the icon for the device you are using (PC or Mac) and download and install the application. After downloading the MVP and installing it you will need to configure it to connect to the demo system. The first-time setup page is shown in Illustration 8. Enter the IP address of the demo server This will show the main portal login page where you can choose the sector (Illustration 2). Pick one of the sectors, and then enter the user name/password from Table 3. You can also go directly to the sector by using the following URLs. You can also create bookmarks for these to make access easier: Page 12 of 27

Education Enterprise Sports Healthcare Sector URL Table 2: sector specific URLs To go back to the sector selector at any time use: If you have an MVP on your PC that is not configured for the demo system, for example if you have previously installed it for a different server, you will need to change the address of the portal in the MVP. To do this see Appendix D. Page 13 of 27

4.6 Viewing the portal on a Smart TV To view the Portal on a Smart TV, make sure that everything is connected as described above. Ensure that the TV is configured to the demo shuttle s portal IP address. Refer to the relevant technnote for the TV you are using. Once that is done you will be presented with the top level product selector as shown in Illustration 9. Selecting Triplechoice will take you to the main sector selector as shown in Illustration 2. Once you have selected a sector all access will be directed to that content until one of the following is done: Reboot the Smart TV. Use the switch theme menu in the STB portal to navigate to the sector selector. Use the switch theme menu in the STB to navigate to a different sector. 4.7 Internet access Internet access will take you to Google s home page. If you don t have Internet access a canned (dummy) Google page will be displayed. Normally Internet access requires the use of a keyboard. However, you can navigate a page by using the cursor keys on the remote control. 4.8 Device Pairing When PC, MVP and Mobile Clients select the Hospitality option the user will be greeted with a page asking them to confirm the room number and pairing code instead of the normal hospitality home screen. This can be used to demonstrate Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) where a user can pair their mobile or PC client with the TV in their room. Once the room number and pairing code have been entered the purchase history and video resume point data will be shared between all clients in that room. The room number and pairing code can normally be found by selecting My Device from the main menu of an STB or Smart TV in the hospitality sector theme. However as the room number and pairing code are hard coded to always be the same on every demo system you can easily enter use the following values: Field Name Room Number 101 Pairing Code 1337 Value Page 14 of 27

4.9 Username and Logins The demo system comes with a number of pre-defined users who have different capabilities. Username Password Real name (for sharing) Permissions admin admin System Administrator Access to everything. andy andyandy Andy Pandy Access to everything. mike mikemike Michael Knight Can view, upload, share, record and bookmark. barry barrybarry Barry White Can view content and bookmark content. bob bobbob Robert Smith Can view content and bookmark content. jason jasonjason Jason Vorhees No permissions at all. This user can be used to show that permissions work in an obvious way. Table 3 User names and passwords for the demo system The Real name, or part of the Real name is the name you will need to use when sharing content. 5 Viewing TripleSign (signage) on an STB or SSSP There are two ways of showing signage on an STB or Samsung SSP device. The simplest way is to go to channel 23 which is a short playlist of a general collection of layouts. This cannot be changed, but gives an overall flavour of digital signage. You can return to the main portal at any time by using the menu button, or change channel. The more advanced options are available from the main sector selector as shown in Illustration 3. This gives you a selection of signage playlists that have been saved on the system, sorted alpha-numerically. Select one of the playlists and the STB will start displaying the playlist. To switch to another playlist, use the TripleEvent page to select the required playlist. This is shown below. You can display this on either a laptop or a mobile device connected to the demo system Wi-Fi network. Illustration 10: TripleEvent page to switch signage playlists To permanently change the STB to signage, for example if you only wish to demo signage, you will need to use TripleCare to set the URL of the home page in the TripleCare Configuration->Client Management- >Configuration menu item, and selecting the STB you wish to change and selecting Pre-set Homepage. This will allow you to choose TripleSign as the default homepage. Page 15 of 27

The playlist selection can be customised or tailored for specific customers or events as required. See Appendix C. 5.1 Interactive Signage Interactive signage layouts can be demonstrated on the SSSP V3 touch device by selecting the 'Interactive' playlist on the main selector screen. The playlist contains a single layout with two interactive cells that change signage layout when touched. The interactive channel list can be demonstrated on the A150 or SSSP using an accompanying IR remote control. On the A150, the 'Interactive' playlist contains the 'Tripleplay Corporate' layout with TV and an interactive channel list cell. Pressing the up or down arrow keys on the remote will display the channel list. The channel list can be reached this way on the 'Tripleplay Corporate' layout or any of the 'Wrapper' layouts in the playlists provided. Page 16 of 27

Appendix A. Customising the content To change the live TV you will need to capture the required content and then use QuickDrop to change the appropriate channel. The following instructions are intended for advanced users only. Capture the required content. This can be done by using TripleTV+, the TripleTV capture tools (See the Tpiptv user guide, View Output section and save capture to file), nwtest or other capture tools. You will need about 5 to 30 minutes of TV with audio and any subtitles you want. Aim to avoid any content that is controversial or offensive. With the content on your PC or laptop, open a web browser on the management portal ( and login as admin. Navigate to the QuickDrop icon. Under this you will see icons for each of the primary live TV categories. Select the category you want to update, for example Entertainment. Then go to the Default Playlist icon and then Replace All You will be taken to a screen that invites you to drop the captured file. After you drop the file the system will automatically upload it, perform any conversions required and after a successful conversion will replace the current item for that live TV channel. Page 17 of 27

Appendix B. Customising the currency and time zone The currency, time zone and other location dependent details can be changed to suit the location that the demo is going to be shown. Currency: This can be found under TripleCare->Configuration. Here you can change the currency and time format. Timezone Then select the country and area you want. You should reboot the shuttle after making these changes so they are correctly applied. Page 18 of 27

Appendix C. Adding new signage playlists The default set of playlists can be easily updated. This can be done either by creating a new playlist yourself using the signage tools or by importing playlists that have been prepared by others. There is a section available on the partner portal. Once new playlists have been imported the demo system will refresh the main selector automatically. If the playlist uses a device type of 'STB' and geometry '1080P', a matching event will be setup automatically under TripleEvent. If the playlist uses any other device / geometry, the event will need to be created manually. By using a naming convention different signage playlists can be grouped together. You can also make new or important playlists appear at the top of the list to help when presenting specific content by using a low value character, e.g. 0, or A as the first character of the playlist. e.g. A-demo-playlist You can also export individual playlists for later use, or for use by other from within TripleSign. If you create a Signage layout that you think would be worthwhile to others you should consider exporting it and sending it to the marketing team for review and cataloging. Page 19 of 27

Appendix F. Wi-Fi Routers A number of different Wi-Fi routers may be used with the demo system. The general configuration is to provide a Wi-Fi access point to connect to the STB network. Since there are many makes and models of router it is not possible to give instructions for all types. However, two units have been tested with the system and these are described here: Netgear N600 dual band router and a portal TP-LINK MR3020 router. For all Wi-Fi routers it is very important to configure Wi-Fi security using WPA/WPA2 Personal profile. You can connect to the PC portal and management pages on the address. Note you should not stream any live TV steams using the Wi-Fi router as this will cause picture breakup in some cases. The portable router supplied is powered via one of the USB connections on the back of the shuttle. The router must be set to AP mode on the front panel and configured as an access point in the configuration menus. See Appendix H. for details of the configuration settings for this router. Page 24 of 27

Appendix G. Optional built-in Wi-Fi Access Point An optional built-in Wi-Fi Access Point is available and may be fitted to some shuttles. If you shuttle does not have one please contact the build team. The presence of the access point is the two small aerial connectors. Both aerials should normally be used to ensure the best coverage. The access point will have the hostname of the shuttle as the SSID. The password is 3playdemotps When using the built-in access point clients will automatically be directed to use the HLS version of the live streams and stored content. Page 25 of 27

Appendix H. TP-LINK MR3020 Configuration This appendix lists the configuration settings for the TP-LINK MR3020. To obtain further details of how to configure this router please refer to the manufacturer s documentation, see Ref 1. Make sure the switch on the front panel is set to AP. You will need a laptop to setup the initial configuration (see Appendix B). After reset, the router has an IP address of , net mask Operation Mode SSID Region/Channel Mode SSID Security Passphrase Update the administration password Access Point.
