INTRODUCTION The purpose of this document is to guide user thru the LalPac install 1.1 DOCUMENTATION CONVENTIONS This document often uses LPc meaning LalPac Classic 1.2 TARGET AUDIENCE This document is intended for.. PROCEDURE Insert the CD into your drive, the CD should automatically load and show the below screen. Click Install Software on the CD Menu screen to start installing the LalPac software. When it shows the install box, click Next, then Install, Finish.

3 If you are presented with a pop up box saying you do not have the BDE installed, say "OK". It will run through a short install process. When it shows the install box, click Next, then Install, Finish. You will be presented with the following screen: (Screen 1) Click Next to go to the License Agreement screen: Filename: lalpac_install_manual.doc Page 3 of 10.

4 (Screen 2) When you have read and accepted the License Agreement click Next: Enter your activation key and then click Next : Filename: lalpac_install_manual.doc Page 4 of 10.

6 The Network screen will ask you for a location of a working ini file to copy the settings from, this can be useful if you are installing lots of clients and don't want to set up each client. Click Change to find the location of your LalPac.INI file you want to use and click next to select the installation Folder: Minimal will install LalPac with out the locking file and report templates, but will NOT edit the ini file. This will take you to select installation Folder: SINGLE USER SETUP If you are setting LalPac up in a Single User mode then select a location, either local or networked for the database and shared files (default is C:\Program Files\LalPac). MULTI USER SETUP If you will be using LalPac in a Multi-User setup, then locking files and report templates needs to be a shared network directory available to all workstations. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are installing the locking directory to a network location, please make sure that the full path (all folders) are 8 characters or less in length and do not have spaces in the names. This is especially important if you are installing to a NOVELL server, although we recommend for compatibility that you also use this advice for Windows Servers. The reason for this is due to a problem with the way that NOVELL handles long filenames and can cause problems with the LalPac automatic update utility. Click Next to continue. 7 (Screen 5) Select the BASE Location where you would like the LalPac files to be installed. All the extra files by default will be installed to this location. (Screen 6) Click Next once you have selected the location for the locking files: Filename: lalpac_install_manual.doc Page 7 of 10.
