3 Installation 1 3 Installation In general, we recommend that you select the default installation options during the installation process. However, the installation program allows advanced users to modify several options to their liking. You will be downloading the installation file named "EzvDcmv4Installer.exe" and saving it to your computer (you may place the file anywhere on your computer to run it, but the actual installation location of the program will be determined by the installation program, it won't be determined by the location of the installation file when you run it). Double-click on the file "EzvDcmv4Installer.exe" that you've downloaded and copied to your computer. The following screen may appear, if so, select the "Run" button: The following screen will appear, select the "Next" button:

4 4 EZViewer DCM Installation The following screen will appear: 1. enter your name in the Name field 2. if applicable, enter the company name in the Company field 3. if you're installing a trial version, it will show "Trial" in the Product Id field (and you won't need or be able to change it); but if you're installing a full version, this field will be blank and you'll enter the unique Product ID that comes with your purchase (be sure to store this number were you can find it in the future in case you ever migrate to a new computer and need to reinstall the program.

5 Installation The following screen will appear, read the license agreement, confirm your understanding and agreement by selecting the option "I accept the agreement", and select the "Next" button: 5

$6 EZViewer DCM Installation In the following screen, the installation program recommends that you install the program in "C: \Program Files\GJC Software\EZViewer DCM v4" (which is the combination of$

6 6 EZViewer DCM Installation In the following screen, the installation program recommends that you install the program in "C: \Program Files\GJC Software\EZViewer DCM v4" (which is the combination of the Windows default directory "C:\Program Files\" and this program's default directory "GJC Software\EZViewer DCM v4"). If you are an advanced user and have a reason to change the directory, you can enter it here or use the "Browse" button to navigate to another directory for the installation. When you're ready, click on the 'Next" button.

7 Installation 7 In the following screen the default option during this installation process is to use the Windows "My Pictures" directory which is associated with your Windows user profile as your default directory. The "default directory" is the directory that EZ Viewer DCM program will open the first time you use the program. However, since it can be changed, and that it also changes based on any other directories you may catalog, it's not usually beneficial here to make any changes. If you are an advanced user and have another directory you prefer to use, you can enter here or use the "Browse" button to navigate to the directory of your choosing. Click "Next" when you are ready to proceed.

8 8 EZViewer DCM Installation In the following screen it is showing that the default location for the EZ Viewer DCM database files will be located in the root of the C-drive. This is the preferred directory so that there won't be any Windows permissions problems. Additionally, if you were to store the database files in alternate locations, you might lose track of them and/or accidentally erase them at some point in the future. Also, another important issue is The "database" files are where the information about your files will be cataloged. In other words, the actual pictures, files, etc. that you will be cataloging will remain in their original directories, but the thumbnails and information (such as "keywords") about the pictures, files, etc. will be stored in these database files. However, if you are an advanced user and have a reason to change this location, you may enter the alternate directory or use the "Browse" button to navigate to the desired directory for this database files. Click "Next" when you're ready to continue.

9 Installation 9 In the following screen it is notifying you that a shortcut to the EZ Viewer DCM program will be created in the Windows Start Menu. If you prefer not to have a shortcut to this program in the Windows Start Menu, you can select the box where it states "Don't create a Start Menu folder."

When you are ready to proceed, click on the "Install" button.

11 Installation The installation process will proceed to completion. When the program has finished installing, the following confirmation screen will appear: 11
