3 Introduction We are delighted to launch DATRAN Reporting v6. DATRAN Reporting provides the ability to create and schedule operational and regulatory reporting from DATRAN VI SCADA systems. This includes regular reports such as: Resource consent reports DWSNZ compliance reports All alarms for a given period Comms fail reports etc Key features of Reporting are: Automated running of scheduled reports Ability to send reports via Ability to transfer reports to an FTP server DATRAN Reporting v6 is built on a new ReportBuilder engine which provides significant improvements to the user interface and speed of report generation. This release comes with a user friendly Setup Wizard to help simplify installation. QTech recommends that all existing users of DATRAN Reporting upgrade to v6. The following sections of this document describe the installation procedure and the enhancements. Your feedback on this product and future enhancement requests are always appreciated. 4 Prerequisites for Upgrade This version replaces all previous versions of DATRAN Reporting. Backward Compatibility This is a full release version and replaces all existing versions. Reports built with previous versions are still available and can be used with the new version. Software Licensing No additional licensing is required for registered users. Multiple user licenses are available as required. The Client install allows existing reports to be run and scheduled, this can be installed on multiple machines. The Report designer is a licensed application to a defined machine. Close Applications Before installing it is recommended that you close all applications running on the target machine. PC Reboot No rebooting of the target machine is required after the installation. Installation Packages Due the variety of IT layouts DATRAN Reporting is used in, there are two installation packages: Server Install - DATRAN_Reporting_vx_xx_Setup_Server.exe The Server installation should be used on the machine that is running 24/7. It includes the report designer and a DATRAN Reporting Service which is a Windows Services that handles the timed scheduling of report creation and distribution ( , FTP etc.). Client Install - DATRAN_Reporting_vx_xx00_Setup_Client.exe The Client installation allows you to run and schedule existing reports and is intended to be installed on user workstation machines. It does not include the DATRAN Reporting Service. An example configuration is as follows: Page 4 of 10

5 Summary of New Features New User Interface The main user interface has been simplified and improved. New Individual Scheduler Options Each report can now have a unique date/time setting to ensure flexibility with your reporting requirements. Previously this was a global setting for all reports. New Success/Fail Diagnostic view This display shows the success/fail status of each scheduled report. This helps ensure you know the reports were actually sent etc. Report Templates There are now 11 Alarm Templates provided with Reporting, including the new Operator list report. All of these templates have been significantly reviewed to maximise the out of the box functionality of Reporting. Many of the most popular system reports can now be provided automatically or by double clicking and selecting the applicable dates. These templates are also intended to provide you with a basic layout for customisation to your specific needs. For further details on all of the templates please click here. Page 5 of 10

6 Improved Date Selection A new calendar makes it easier and faster to select the required date range. No Data Found - Label Improvements made to the use of this feature to clearly state when no data is found on all the template reports, instead of the report being blank. Page 6 of 10

7 Installation Procedure The software is available as a download from the QTech website. Please log on to the members area as normal and select software downloads. Then follow the instructions below. If the software is supplied on a CD, insert the CD into your CDROM drive and it should automatically run the installation menu system. If you have CD auto run turned off, then using File Explorer, you will need to navigate to the MainMenu folder on the CD and double click on Autorun.exe. This is the Welcome screen, click Next. This is the software license screen. Please read all of the terms and conditions and if you agree click I accept the agreement and then click Next, otherwise click Back. This is the location screen. Click Next to accept the default (recommended) location. If you wish to change the location click Browse. Page 7 of 10

8 This is the select components screen. Tick the DATRAN Reporting Service checkbox if you want this computer to be running the scheduled reports. Click Next. This is the start menu folder screen. To create a shortcut in the default location (recommended) click Next. If you wish to change the location click Browse. This is the additional task screen. To create these icons check the required box(s) and click Next. This is the install screen. To start installation click Next. Page 8 of 10

9 This is the completion screen. For the installation to be complete click Finish. The installation is now complete and DATRAN Reporting can be launched. If you have opted to install DATRAN Reporting Service and this is the first time it has ever been installed, you will be prompted with the Logon Parameters dialogue box. Please enter the Windows username and password of a Windows user that has a default printer setup. This allows DATRAN Reporting Service to send scheduled reports to the default printer. The default Windows user is DATRAN service which will be valid if you are installing on a computer that already has DATRAN VI installed. Remember to change the password if the DATRAN service password is no longer the default password. If you opted to install DATRAN Reporting Service and this is not the first time it has been installed, you will get a warning that it is currently not running. It is recommended that you click Yes to start the DATRAN Reporting Service. Page 9 of 10

Ongoing Support encourages clients to configure their systems to allow remote access via a direct connect modem or internet based VPN. This allows for off-site support from either staff, or in-house staff outside of work hours. A support services maintenance agreement is available (or users can upgrade from an existing maintenance agreement). All support will be charged at $110 +GST per hour plus disbursements. Page 10 of 10
