3 1 Overview Please read the entire document before beginning. This document covers the installation of third-party components used with Relius Administration 10.0 Web/VRU/CSR. A downloadable zip file of this document can be obtained at our web site for offline viewing. If you are unclear about this installation, please contact Support at , option 3. The installation of Relius Administration 10.0 is divided into two parts: component installation and workstation installation. This document covers the component installation. Both upgrades and new installations must follow the procedures detailed herein for a successful implementation of Relius Administration The component installation is available on CD. This CD must be installed in advance of Relius Administration 10.0 Web/VRU. Do not install this CD until you have downloaded RA 10.0 Web/VRU and are ready to install it. Once the components are in place, the RA 10.0 Web/VRU installation can then be run. The installation of Relius Administration 10.0 involves the following basic procedures: 1) Read and understand this document and the accompanying Relius Administration 10.0 Update document. 2) Ensure your database has been properly exported and backed up. 3) Install the Relius Administration Web/VRU Component CD. 4) Install Relius Administration 10.0 Web/VRU, running update scripts against VRU databases if necessary.

4 Web users only, please note: Relius Administration 10.0 Web servers must run on Windows Server 2003 (Web, Standard, or Enterprise Edition). Windows 2000 Server will no longer be supported as the Web server platform, beginning with Relius Administration Upgrades from Windows 2000 Server are not supported, and the installation will abort. Web servers must be formatted, with Windows Server 2003 installed fresh before running the Web Component CD and the Relius Administration 10.0 installation.

5 2 Performing the Relius Administration 10.0 Update Installation In most cases where an update of an existing Relius Administration Web/VRU server is performed and Windows Update is regularly run, the majority of these components will already be properly installed and not updated by this process. Pre-installation Notes: a) This installation is valid for Windows 2000 Server (VRU) and Windows Server 2003 Web, Standard, or Enterprise Edition (Web/CSR). All references to Windows, unless otherwise noted, are also valid for the above named operating systems. b) Run Scandisk (also known as Analyze ) to check the integrity of your hard drive and have any problems resolved before installing this release. c) Be sure no screen saver will become active during the installation. SunGard Corbel discourages the use of screen savers whenever running Relius Administration or its Installer. d) Many support files will be installed to the System directory, normally C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32 (on Windows 2000) or C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 (on Windows 2003). e) The installation process takes approximately 1/2 hour to complete, depending on the number of components being installed and the speed of your workstation. For example, if the Oracle client is already installed on a Web server whose Microsoft.NET is up-to-date, the Oracle client and.net installations should be skipped, saving a considerable amount of time. f) Review the Relius Administration 10.0 system requirements located on our web site ( Do not proceed with the update if your environment does not meet the minimum system requirements. 2.1 Remove any icons or shortcuts from the StartUp folder. Services (such as real-time virus scanning) that may impede or interfere with the installation should be stopped and set to Manual before proceeding. Additionally, programs that are set to launch when Windows is started can also be specified in C:\WINDOWS\WIN.INI. Please edit this file using Notepad. Temporarily remark the entries RUN= and LOAD= by placing a semi-colon ( ; ) in front of the line (if programs are specified), then Save and Exit the WIN.INI file. Example of remark: ;RUN=EXAMPLE.EXE 2.2 Re-start the computer. Windows or other programs may have locked some files that need to be overwritten during the update process.

6 2.3 Temporarily disable all virus protection. 2.4 Insert the Relius Administration Component CD for Web/VRU into your CD-ROM drive. Because this installation is a self-starting installation, the installation process will begin automatically. 2.5 If the installation does not automatically commence, click Start, then Run and type D:\Setup.exe in the command box (where D: is your CD-ROM drive), then click OK. 2.6 You will be prompted whether you are using VRU databases. If you are uncertain, select No. No changes will be made to your databases or connectivity at this time. 2.7 At the Welcome screen, click Next.

7 2.8 If necessary, the Oracle Client installation will start automatically. There may be a slight delay between screens. Do not interrupt the process. 2.9 Enter the path of the Destination, which will default to the local drive with the largest amount of free space. SunGard Corbel requires C:\ORACLE\ORA81 if space is available (about 150 MB). Click Next when ready The Product List will then load. This may take several minutes. Do not interrupt.

8 2.11 A flood bar will appear at the top-right corner of the Oracle Universal Installer screen. This shows the progress of the installation program preparing to copy files. Do not interrupt this process or click any buttons Files will begin installing to your hard drive. This process takes several minutes to complete. Do not interrupt the process.

9 2.13 You will need to enter the TCP/IP address of the database server. If you are unsure of the TCP/IP address of your database server, see your Database Administrator or Network Administrator Microsoft Data Access Component will then install. Depending on your computer s capacity, the installation may take several minutes. Do not interrupt the process Windows Scripting host will update, if necessary.

10 2.16 If necessary, Microsoft.NET will install. This is a fairly sizeable installation. If Windows Update has not previously installed it, this will also take some time. Allow the system time to finish the installation without being interrupted When the installation has finished, you will see the screen below. Be sure Yes, I want to restart my computer now is selected, and click Finish.

11 2.18 After logging back on, you may see a DOS window appear (SECEDIT.EXE) momentarily, as well as a Control Panel setup window. These are normal and expected. Do not interrupt the processes that are running. They will close on their own If action was taken in Step 2.1, restore the icons or shortcuts that were temporarily removed from the StartUp group or folder and remove the remark from the RUN= and LOAD= statements from WIN.INI. Restart any services that were temporarily set to Manual and if necessary place them back in Automatic mode.

12 3 Verifying Connectivity 3.1 Open SQL Plus. Click Start Programs Relius Admin SQL Plus and sign on as SYSADM with the password of SYSADM and the host string of QTDB. Click OK. 3.2 You should see a SQL> prompt. If so, type EXIT <Enter>. 3.3 You are now ready to download and install Relius Administration 10.0 Web/VRU/CSR.
