5 3. HR-Lite Installation We provide Standard, Professional and Enterprise edition of HR-Lite to cater different needs of different customers. Installation of each version is definitely the same. In this user guide, we will take Professional version as an example to demonstrate the installation. For details requirement of each HR-Lite Editions, please refer to System Requirement 3.1 Install with CD Insert the HR-Lite compact disc in your CD-ROM drive, double-click HR-Lite version executable file (e.g. HR-Lite_v3.0.1_Professional_Full_Setup.exe) in the root directory of the compact disc. (Remarks: the file name of HR-Lite executable is based on the version of the release, for version 3.0.1, the name is HR-Lite_v3.0.1_ Professional_Full_Setup.exe). Click Run to continue the following installation. Remark To install HR-Lite, Window administrator is required. For Professional and Enterprise Editions run on Window Vista, window configuration and setting are required as below: System Installation and Upgrade Full administrative rights must be enabled for current window user profile who require to install / upgrade HR-Lite The installation path should not be inside C:\ProgramFiles\, please choose other path for the installation Besides, disable the User Account Control before running installation / upgrade package Control Panel User Accounts and Family Safety User Accounts and turn off the Turn User Account Control on or off. Using HR-Lite Go to the exec file of HRLite in its installation directory (e.g.: "C:\ HRLite\HRLite.exe") Right-click the exec file Properties Compatibility tab Under "Compatibility mode" click the check box "Run this program in compatibility mode" In the dropdown, select Windows XP (Service Pack 2) HR-Lite Installation & Online Registration Guide Page5 of 11

6 3.2 Welcome page After complete the installation preparation, a welcome page will display, click Next to proceed or click Cancel to exit setup. 3.3 Installed Destination Click Next to install HR-Lite to the default location, or click Browse to install to a different folder. Click Back to return to the previous steps or click Cancel to exit setup. (The installation path should NOT be inside C:\ProgramFiles\) HR-Lite Installation & Online Registration Guide Page6 of 11

7 3.4 Ready to install This screen shows the summary of HR-Lite installation, check the path and click Install to continue installation or click Cancel to exit the setup. 3.5 Installing the package The screen shows the installation progress; please wait until all the necessary files have been installed. 8 3.6 Creating ODBC to link to SQL Server (For Professional and Enterprise Edition ONLY) Input Server Name (computer name or IP address), Database Name (default in hrlite )and key in Password (default in hrlite ), then click OK. There will be a message telling you that you have successfully created DSN. 3.7 Restart PC Restart computer to finish the whole installation process. 3.8 Upgrade your HR-Lite Please refer to HR-Lite Patch Upgrade Guide for detailed procedure HR-Lite Installation & Online Registration Guide Page8 of 11

HR-Lite Registration 4.1 Generate Installation Ref Double click the desktop icon of HR-Lite to show the above screen Input the new Serial Number which is given by HR Click Generate Installation Ref., the second key (Installation Reference number) will be generated by the system automatically 4.2 Generate Registration No Go to this website ( to register your HR-Lite Or you can simply go click Products > HR-Lite and select Client Login, another new web page will pop up. 10 4.2.3 You may now input the Serial Number (Given by HR21) for the User Name, and the Installation Reference number (generated by your HR-Lite system) in Step for the Password. Then click Register for the first installation. (If you have encountered any problem on this page, please do not hesitate to call our Hotline at ) A page of company information has to be filled in by user. Please note that the fields with asterisks* are mandatory. Important Please make sure that the address inputted is correct, as the last key (Registration Number) will be sent to this address, in order for you to complete the registration process After completing this page, please click Register An will send to the address that you imputed in the User Registration HR-Lite Installation & Online Registration Guide Page10 of 11

11 4.3 Register your HR-Lite Check your and input the third key (Registration Number) in System Registration screen Click OK to complete the whole installation and registration process. Please note that the above process has to be done once only, and now you may login HR-Lite REMINDER Steps to register HR-Lite in others PC: 1.
