4 1. Introduction FluxTool v3.2.6 is intended for production environments where eldoled LED drivers are programmed in configuration jigs. The application allows you to create and edit profiles and write these to connected LED drivers. A profile is a set of parameters with predefined settings for a specific LED driver type, created for the purpose of quickly and efficiently configuring LED drivers Compatibility Operating system: Microsoft Windows 7, 8 or 10, Mac OS X 10.9, 10.10, and eldoled TOOLbox pro: version and higher eldoled LED drivers: all eldoled LED drivers with LEDcode and/or DMX interface 1.2. Installing FluxTool To install the application: 1. Download the latest FluxTool version from the eldoled website. 2. On Microsoft Windows, go to your download location and run FluxTool v3.2.6 WIN.exe. On Mac OS X, go to your download location and run FluxTool v3.2.6 MAC.pkg. The very first time you start FluxTool, log in as engineer (see Users) to access the FluxTool configuration parameters FluxTool version check When you start FluxTool, and a new FluxTool version has been made available, you will be notified via a pop-up, which will tell you whether it is an optional or required update. The pop-up will also include a download link. You can manually check if an update is available via the About menu item Connecting a TOOLbox pro The TOOLbox pro package contains three parts: A TOOLbox pro A USB cable A TOOLbox cable with an RJ45 connector and three driver connectors 4
5 To connect the TOOLbox pro: Connect the USB cable s mini USB connector to the TOOLbox pro and the standard USB connector to a USB port on the PC or Mac. Connect the TOOLbox programming cable s RJ45 connector to the TOOLbox pro. Connect one of the other connectors of the TOOLbox programming cable to the LED driver: o To program profiles to a DALI or 0-10V LED driver, connect the connector with the green and brown wire to the LED driver s LEDcode/NTC connector. Make sure to connect the green wire to the LEDcode + terminal, and the brown wire to the LEDcode - terminal. o To test DALI signals to the LED driver, connect the connector with the blue and blue/white wire to the DALI (DA) connector of the LED driver. This connection is polarity independent. o To program a profile to a DMX driver and to test DMX signals, connect the connector with the orange, orange/white and brown/white wire to the LED driver s DMX connectors. Polarity for this connection is important: DMX in+ : orange/white wire DMX in- : orange wire DMX in shield: brown/white wire 5
6 To provide your LED driver with power for the configuration process: When connecting the TOOLbox pro directly to the LED driver, the LED driver needs to be connected to AC power. When using a configuration jig, connect a TOOLbox adapter between the TOOLbox pro and configuration jig 1.5. Used conventions in this manual Text in italics denotes a menu item. Text in brackets [Button] represents a button in FluxTool. All other user interface items are enclosed in single quotation marks. For example: Program tab. 6
