5 1 Introduction The ServerView System Monitor is a component of the ServerView Suite. ServerView System Monitor allows you to monitor and check the following server information locally on your server: Environment information, including fan and temperature sensor information, see "Environment subsystem" on page 31. Power supply information, see "Power Supply subsystem" on page 34. Mass storage information. This information is only available if ServerView RAID Manager is installed on the system, see "Mass Storage subsystem" on page 39. System board information, see "System Board subsystem" on page 45. Network information, see "Network subsystem" on page 52. Driver monitor information, see "Driver Monitor subsystem" on page 53. Update status information, see "Updates menu" on page 54. The ServerView System Monitor is available on Windows and Linux operating systems once you have installed the ServerView agents.for further information on the installation, see the "ServerView Agents for Windows" / "ServerView Agents for Linux" installation and user guides. Additionally you can start ServerView System Monitor remote on any standard PC with intranet or Internet access and a Web browser. Enter the following Web adress via a suitable Web browser: Target groups and purpose of this manual This manual is intended for system administrators, network administrators and service technicians who already have a basic knowledge of hardware and software. 6 1 Introduction 1.2 Changes since the previous manual This edition replaces the online manual ServerView System Monitor", Edition December This manual has been updated to reflect the latest software status and offers the following new features: The new ServerView System Monitor (Web-based) can be started remote via a link, see "Introduction" on page 5. New option Recipients Address CC for additional recipient addresses on the Mail General tab in the tab, see " (tab)" on page 17. New option SMTPS to secure the connection by SSL or TLS on the Primary SMTP Server and Secondary SMTP Server tabs in the tab, see " (tab)" on page 17. You find a description of the ServerView Repository Server package in the new ServerView Update Repository installation and user guide. Therefore the chapter Installing a Repository Server has been removed from this manual. 1.3 ServerView Suite link collection Via the ServerView Suite link collection, Fujitsu provides you with numerous downloads and further information on the ServerView Suite and PRIMERGY servers.
