3 3 INTRODUCTION Thank you for purchasing Calendar module by Coding Staff! This user guide will lead you through the module installation process helping to avoid typical problems and mistakes. IMPORTANT! Coding Staff Module restrictions for Sitefinity: 1. Calendar supports Sitefinity 4.4, Sitefinity 5.0; 2. Only MSSQL database is supported; 3. One module per page is allowed.

4 4 CALENDAR MODULE INSTALLATION ON SITEFINITY CMS 1. Unzip folder for your version of Sitefinity in the archive and copy bin and Modules folders to the site root folder. 2. Open Administration -> Settings. 3. Go to Advanced Settings. 4. Go to System-> ApplicationModules section and click Create New button.

5 5 5. Fill in the following fields as shown on the screenshot: Name: CodingStaffCalendarModule Type: CodingStaff.Sitefinity.Calendar.Web.CalendarModule StartupType: OnApplicationStart 6. Restart the application for the site. 7. The module has been successfully installed. Calendar widget is now available in section Content. 8. Check the box Enable ViewState in settings of the page with the module.

6 6 OVERVIEW Once the module is installed on your site and added to a page, you can choose one of the 2 available modes: 1) Portal Calendar Mode (single portal calendar managed by an administrator and displayed to all users); 2) User Calendar Mode (personal manageable calendar for the logged-in user). CALENDAR FUNCTIONS ADDING EVENTS To add an event, click add event at the top of the module. As a result, the page Create Event will appear. All fields description you can find in table below. Field Name Description Title Description Start/End Date Start/End Time All Day Event The name of the event that will be displayed in the calendar. It is a mandatory field The WYSIWYG editor allows adding the description of the planned events: text, images, external links and other multimedia. Choose the start and end dates of the event. Make sure that the End Date doesn t precede the Start Date. Choose the start and end time of the event. Make sure that the End time doesn t precede the Start Time. Check the box if the event is the whole day activity. If checked, Start/ End Time sections disappear. To apply changes click Save button on the bottom of the page.

7 7 TO EDIT/DELETE AN EVENT When some event is added, it is displayed in the calendar module. To edit an event, click on it. As a result, a pop-up window will appear with the event details, as well as with links Edit and Delete. Clicking Edit will send you to Event Properties page described above. Delete will delete the chosen event. CALENDAR SETTINGS All settings description you can find in table below. Setting Name AM/PM time format Show button today Events color Start week on Date format View modes Default view mode External calendars Description The checked box sets the AM/PM time format. If this box is unchecked, the calendar will run in 24-hour notation. Check the box to show Today button in the calendar. Click on the button to look over daily view of the calendar. Creates the color of events from the palette. Select the first day of the week to be displayed in the module. Pick any format from 9 available. There are 3 modes available for viewing the module: day, week and month. Select which view mode will be selected as default. Allows importing data from Google Calendar in XML format (Calendar should be set to public ), receives the data from URL in the amount that is indicated in the external calendar settings. 8 8 ADDING GOOGLE CALENDAR 1. Log in to your Google Calendar. Choose necessary calendar and hit on Share this Calendar. 2. Make sure that your calendar is public. 3. Hit on Calendar Details and copy XML code of your calendar. 4. Paste this XML code to the settings of your Calendar (on a website).

9 9 UNINSTALL CALENDAR MODULE FROM SITEFINITY CMS 1. Go to System-> ApplicationModules section 2. Delete module from Application modules section. 3. Go to Toolboxes-> Toolboxes- >PageControls->Sections->ContentToolboxSection- >Tools 4. Delete CodingStaffCalendar item. 5. Execute following sql script: Modules\CodingStaff.Sitefinity.Calendar\CodingStaff.Sitefinity.Calendar.Web\Data\Scripts\Uninstall.sql. 6. Module has uninstalled.
