3 Accessing the e-mas Screen The e-mas module can be accessed by pressing ALT + E on your keyboard, or by clicking the [e-mas button] from the main screen. When this button is clicked, you will be presented with the following screen: The top third of the screen contains listings of current claims. The middle section has a list of all current e-mas patients. The bottom section shows the current connection status. 3 RxSystems 2010

4 Registering Patients To register a new patient, press F10. This will bring up a blue patient select screen. Find the patient as you would for a normal prescription dispensing Once selected, you will be required to fill in the pharmacist s details. Once you have entered this information, press F10 to save and connect to the central e-mas server.. Once the registration has been confirmed, the patient will appear on the middle section of the Emas main screen, with the status Registered 4 RxSystems 2010

Dispensing for e-mas To dispense for an emas registered patient, go

5 Dispensing for e-mas To dispense for an emas registered patient, go into the patients PMR, and press [F2 Rx Type] to change the Script type. Now select Minor Ailment from the drop down menu as the Prescription type. The PMR will now be set for dispensing of Minor Ailment items. Now label as you would a normal script. When you have finished dispensing, the e-mas confirm Prescriber screen will appear. 5 RxSystems 2010

6 Fill in all the required details and press F10 to finish. This will print a script, as well as connect to the Central e-mas server, and then print a paper prescription on the laser printer. 6 RxSystems 2010

7 Referral/Consultation to GP From the e-mas Screen, Press F2 to select the patient. You will then see the e-mas Prescriber screen will appear. Fill in all the details as necessary, and whether it is a consultation or a referral back to the GP. You can press Alt+O to select consultation or Alt+L for a GP referral, or click the relevant option in the bottom left of the screen. Then select whether items are being collected by the patient or a representative. If it is a representative, then fill in the right hand side of the box. Once complete press F10 to connect to the e-mas server and print a paper prescription. 7 RxSystems 2010

8 Withdrawing a patient from e-mas To remove a patient from e-mas, go into the EMAS screen and Press F10 then select the patient by typing in the patient name. A prompt will now appear asking you to confirm the removal of the patient. 8 RxSystems 2010

Other EMAS Options From the EMAS screen, you can reprint claims details (F4) or reprint a patients registration details (F7). You can also cancel a script by pressing F3.

If you wish to test the connection to the e-mas, press F6 to test the claims status, or press [Alt+F6] to test the patient registration messaging is working.

9 Other EMAS Options From the EMAS screen, you can reprint claims details (F4) or reprint a patients registration details (F7). You can also cancel a script by pressing F3. Pressing F5 will allow you to search for specific claims, while F8 allows you to search for patients. If you wish to test the connection to the e-mas, press F6 to test the claims status, or press [Alt+F6] to test the patient registration messaging is working. If you wish to manually update the status for any claims, press [ALT+C]. This will bring up the Manually Update Patient Box. From here you can change the status to COMPLETE or COMPLETE CANCELLED. Press F10 to save the changes, or ESC to cancel. If you need to manually change the status of a patient s registration, press [ALT+R]. From the Manually Update Patient Registration Status screen, you can change the status of that patient using the drop down box. Press F10 to save the changes or ESC to cancel any changes made. Pressing F11 will connect to the EMAS server to check for any new messages. F12 should never be used unless the system has been re-installed. This will remove existing data and download all the previous EMAS information. You cannot carry out this procedure without a password. 9 RxSystems 2010
