Replay System Monitoring Elements Ship specific information 4 Monitoring Elements 4.1 Ship specific information The monitor is divided into different monitoring elements. Each element displays different values. Therefore the tabs are generated dynamically. Only recorded values are displayed. Each value has a hint, which displays the VDR time, the telegram and the source. The displayed time is the recorded time of this telegram. The displayed telegram is the telegram which contains the information. The displayed source is the recording source. VDR time Analysed telegram Figure 4-1: Monitoring Elements Hint Recording source Revision:

Monitoring Elements Ship specific information Replay System Nautical information On these tabs nautical information are displayed. The adjustment of these different nautical information are dependent on the time of arrival of the corresponding telegrams. The number of displayed tabs is dependent on the amount of different information. Nautic X contains redundant information. Information about the water depth, Rate of turn, course and the speed of the vessel will be displayed just as information about waypoints and the route. Figure 4-2: Nautical Information 18 Revision: 1.0.0

Replay System Monitoring Elements Ship specific information Weather conditions On the tab Weather different information of the weather are displayed. Wind-speed, wind-direction belong to the weather information as well as the temperature (if available). Figure 4-3: Weather Conditions VDR status information The last tab Mer is only during realtime monitoring available and shown. It displays internal information of the VDR. Further it is possible to see the actual alarm state and alarm telegrams of VDR while using the Alarm Logger. If a status is active (red = alarm, yellow = warning, green = information) an LED will be light up on the affected status. In addition, the actual VDR log can be downloaded and shown. If the Alarm Logger is connected to VDR with firmware less than Version 5.xx, the Alarm Logger displays the last 10 messages, independent whether they are warnings (yellow), alarms (red) or reset alarms (green) from the VDR. Additionally new arriving alarm telegrams are added at the top of the list. During realtime monitoring it is also possible to start a microphone self test. Figure 4-4: MER Status Information Revision:

Monitoring Elements Navigational information Replay System 4.2 Navigational information On the right hand side of the Replay & Realtime Monitoring System the ship's navigational information will be displayed together with information about any objects tracked in ARPA. The navigational information shows the following properties: Time (local time, time UTC, current date) Position (latitude, longitude) Speed/Course (speed, course, and heading) Data, relating to any tracked objects, are shown in the ARPA Targets field. The number in the header shows the number of currently tracked objects. The target properties of the selected target will be shown: Number in ARPA System Distance Bearing Course over ground Speed Distance to CPA Time to CPA Time and status of the ship This enumerated information is shown for the selected target in the Target List (in this special case this is the red marked item in the figure beside). If in the ECS Configuration Menu the option Show Past Track + ARPA is active (shown in the figure below) and an ARPA Target from the list is checked, this ARPA will be tracked. Figure 4-5: Navigational Information 20 Revision: 1.0.0

Replay System Monitoring Elements Navigational information Priority adjustment of navigational information Most of the ships have more than one interface and therefore also more than one NMEA telegram for the displayed navigational information. In standard case a priority list is used for every navigational property. Thereby the available navigational information with the highest priority is displayed on the right side of the replay system and the own ship target is drawn with this information on ECS. All other navigational information from further NMEA telegrams are shown on the additional nautical sheets at the left side of replay system. But sometimes it could be from interest to draw the own ship target and display navigational information with a lower priority. In this case the automatic priority list can be oversteered. It can be configured using a configuration menu opend by choosing from the menu Settings the item Computing Adjustment. In the now opened configuration window are shown all navigational information which are used to draw the own ship target on the ECS. For every item is shown a list of NMEA telegrams.the above telegram has the highest priority, the following telegrams lower priorities. Only in the actual replay / monitoring available NMEA sentences are enabled, all other sentences are hided. In standard mode all items are configured as automatic and the NMEA sentence with the highest priority per item is activated as base for navigational information. To oversteer this configuration for an item the checkbox Automatic has to be disabled for the wanted item. Than it is possible to change activation between the enabled NMEA sentences for this item. This procedure can be done for one, ore more or all items of the configuration window. After the configuration is closed, the changed configuration will be active and the own ship target will be drawn with different navigational information. Figure 4-6: Priority adjustment of navigational information Revision:

Monitoring Elements AIS information Replay System 4.3 AIS information At the top of the tab AIS the AIS data from your own ship will be shown. At the bottom of the tab the numbers and information of the Base Stations are displayed. In the middle of this tab the AIS data from any other vessels within the defined AIS-range are displayed. All ships in the MMSI List are displayed in the sea chart - however the selected one is highlighted. The AIS Targets field contains information about the ship, currently selected in the field MMSI List. The target information includes: MMSI number Latitude Longitude Speed Heading Course Distance Navigational Status Ships Name This properties are shown for the selected target in the MMSI List (marked red in the figure beside). If in the ECS Configuration Menu the option Show Past Track + AIS is active (shown in the figure below) and a AIS Target from the list is checked this checked AIS will be tracked. Figure 4-7: AIS information 22 Revision: 1.0.0

The loaded data are stored in the folder C:\Program Files\ReplaySystem\adir#. The adir number can be found right below of the transfer window The example in above figure uses the Target Archive >>2<<. Therefore the downloaded data can be found in folder C:\Program Files\ReplaySystem\adir2. The path C:\Program Files\ReplaySystem is the default path for installation. It can be changed during installation procedure. In this case the downloaded data can be found in the directory <Replay path>\adir# Extended Download Settings Furthermore there are different transfer options, which are activated or deactivated by selecting the appropriate items in the menu Extras. For loading data which needs a separate authorisation, it is necessary to authorise with a transaction number (TAN). Select from the menu Extras the item TAN and choose the sub item Use TAN. A new window opens. Figure 5-10: VDR Data transfer 36 Revision: 1.0.0
