3 Overview: LIMS interface gets the details of the samples that need to be tested, from the web application. When a Laboratory is registered with Integration Using Web-Services option checked on Lab Registration page, the registered Lab can send/receive sample details through this automated interface. This either happens for all samples automatically or for Selected samples using interface depending on setting at Laboratory level. After the laboratory is registered, e- mail is sent to the lab, which contains the encrypted user name and password. These encrypted keys are used as a licence key to get the laboratory authenticated to send and receive data from the web application through the web service. Another windows application (LubeAnalyst windows Services - LwinS) is installed on the Laboratory system with user name and password set up in the configuration file. Intended Audience: Lab Admin and Lab User. Minimum Basic Requirements: a) Windows 2003 Server b).net Framework Version 1.1 c) Internet enabled d) 1 GB RAM (Recommended) e) LubeAnalyst.Service.Installer.msi File Location of LIMS Service Installable (LubeAnalyst.Service.Installer.msi) file: A link to a directory containing the installable ZIP file will be provided to OSA. This will be updated in due time. The installable should be copied to the Lab System (Ex: copy to C:\Apps folder) in which LwinS needs to be installed. Version 1.1 Page 3 of 8

4 LwinS Installation Procedure: 1. Uninstall the LwinS application, if already installed on the system. Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs Select LubeAnalyst.Service.Installer, then Click Remove Button. 2. Go to C:\Apps. Double click on LubeAnalyst.Service.Installer.msi file. Following window will be opened. Click on Next Button 3. Browse the destination folder path to install LIMS Interface Services. And Select Everyone Option to make it available for all users on that computer. Then click Next Button Version 1.1 Page 4 of 8

5 4. Click Next to confirm Installation. Then application will be installed in the given path. Version 1.1 Page 5 of 8

6 5. Click Close button. 6. A shortcut of LubeAnalyst.Interface.Service will be created on the system. User can start the application once configured the LIMS service. Configuration Set-up: Goto the folder where LIMS Interface Installed. C:\Program Files\LubeAnalyst.Service.Installer\ Open the LubeAnalyst.Service.UserInterface.exe.config file in NOTEPAD. A sample of the config file is attached. Keys: 1) LabNameLubes: Enter the Lab Name if the lab doing service for Lubes 2) LabNameMarine: Enter the Lab Name if the lab doing service for Lubes 3) AutomatedMode: Value: Yes\No. LIMS Interface will run in silent mode, if the value is Yes. 7 4) Mode: Value: Interval Interface will run at specific Interval ModeValue based on ModeValue. 5) InvokeServiceOnStart: Value: Yes\No When LIMS Service run in silent mode it will send and receive the file once service is started. 6) LubesUserId Enter the encrypted user id. (If the lab doing service for Lubes) After the laboratory is registered, is sent to the lab, which contains the encrypted user id and password. These encrypted keys are used as a licence key to get the laboratory authenticated to send and receive data from the web application through the web service. 7) LubesPassword: Enter the encrypted password (If the lab doing service for Lubes) 8) MarineUserId: Enter the encrypted user id. 8 Following settings are applicable, if the lab doing service for Lubes 23) FolderPathSampleTestLubes: Enter the folder path where files need to be generated. 24) FolderPathSampleTestResultLubes: Enter the folder path where files need to be taken. 25) ArchiveFolderPathSampleTestResultLubes: Enter the folder path where files need to be taken backup 26) LogFilePathLubes: Enter the Log file path. 27) SleepDurationOnStart: When LIMS Service run in silent mode it will send and receive the file once service is started. 28) DebugTraceOn: Value: No Testing procedure: After the configuration file has been updated and saved, the LwinS service can be Started by double-clicking on the icon created on the desktop and sample files will start flowing between OSA and LubeAnalyst in the defined frequency of time. The following steps are typically carried out to perform the testing of the process. 1. Samples will be registered using LubeAnalyst web application. Details of various samples registered can be viewed or modified by logging into the application. 2. Samples with sample statuses Registered and Retest will be picked from LubeAnalyst. Samples with statuses Testing and Retesting that have been Re-sent to LIMS will also be picked. An XML file with all such sample details will be created and placed in the IN folder in the lab machine. 3. The lab software will then place an XML file containing the test results of the samples that were sent by LubeAnalyst in the OUT folder on the lab machine. For testing purposes, the user may also create a dummy XML file with sample test results and manually place the file in this location. 4. After the file from the OUT Folder has been picked by LwinS, the lab user can login to the LubeAnalyst web application and verify that the test results have been correctly updated against the sample number.
