1 Introduction 1.1 About This Documentation This technical description contains the basic structure and the potential settings for the LiftXpress control system. You find out how you can integrate your own graphs into the terminal display and we will show you an overview of current terminal views. You can not only use this structure, but also the pictograms below to orient yourself for faster navigating in the chapters. Note indicates important information that makes it easier to understand the content better. Procedure states order in routines. Example makes it easier to understand the user s inputs by providing specific information

1.2 Brief Description The LiftXpress control system records both the calling location and the destination of travel simultaneously and forwards this information from each of the levels to the lift control system. All input/output terminals (such as floor terminals, car terminals and porter terminals) including the interfaces to the lift control system (Ethernet gateways) are linked to the LiftXpress server via Ethernet network. The terminals for call destination input are equipped with graphic user guidance and designed as touchscreens. Using the LiftXpress control system: boosts the lift s transport performance means no other inputs have to be keyed in the car allows floor-dependent specifications to be integrated into laying out and displaying call input GLON GLON MPK MPK MPK RS 232 Ethernet-Gateway RS 232 Ethernet-Gateway RS 232 Ethernet-Gateway LiftXpress-Server Ethernet - Switch Modem Car-Clients Porter-Clients Floor-Clients Indicator- Clients This figure shows the structure of a LiftXpress system for a group of 3 with MPK

4 Specifications for Freely Selectable Graphs in the Display 4.1 View <<Classic>> The <<Classic>> view gives you a replaceable background graph. A Do_liftXpress.vsd A freely selectable background graph Notes These specifications on the graphs are binding: the filename: <<background >> the storage location: [Drive]:\program files\kollmorgen\visualfloor\data\usrimg the format: PNG The graph s starting position is always the lower left-hand corner of the display. The maximum size of the graph indicates the display used, such as 600 x 800 or 800 x 600. The subsequent routines and examples describe how you can integrate your own graphs. Showing a customer graph on all terminals: Use the designation <<background.png>> for your graph file. Store this graph in the directory: <<[Drive]:\program files\kollmorgen\visualfloor\data\usrimg>>

Showing graphs depending upon terminals: Use the following designation for your graph file: <<background_[terminal name].png>> Store these graphs in the directory: <<[Drive]:\program files\kollmorgen\visualfloor\data\usrimg>> For example Various background graphs appear in the terminals of floors 1-3 and in the car terminals of lifts 1 and 2. The terminals in floors 4 and 5 show the same background graph. Terminal name 1. floor: VF Terminal name 2. floor: VF Terminal name 3. floor: VF Terminal name 5. floor: VF Terminal name car Lift1: VF C1 Terminal name car Lift2: VF C2 Terminal name 4. floor: VF Finally, the directory <<[Drive]:\program files\kollmorgen\visualfloor\data\usrimg>> has to include the following files: <<background_vf png>> <<background_vf png>> <<background_vf png>> <<background_vf png>>* <<background_vf c1.png>> <<background_vf c2.png>> <<background_vf png>>* *The files have the same content so that they only differ in terms of file names

5.2 The <<Barrier-Free Access for the Visually Handicapped>> Function This function provides visually handicapped persons barrier-free access for using the lift. The user starts the function manually with a special button on the housing of the terminal in the floor. The representation of user information uses especially large characters. In addition, an announcement supports the comprehensibility of all information shown. You can adapt the volume of the announcement with <<VFAccess>> user administration (refer to Chapter 6). The process of keying in the command: User Inputs 1. You press the button for the first time. 2. You press the button again and hold the button down. Reaction The normal display is deleted and the information is issued for further use. Note: If you want to continue directly with the command input, you can cancel issuing this general information for operation by pressing the button again. This runs through all of the target floors with the exception of the floor that the user is on. 3. You release the button. The target floor displayed is ready for a command input.* 4. You press the button again. The command input for the target floor displayed has been confirmed. The lift processing the command is issued. 15 do_lxpress_41_gb.png / 16% do_lxpress_42_gb.png / 16% do_lxpress_52_gb.png / 16%% The audio files of the announcement texts have to meet these format specifications: file format audio ch. audio format scan. rate scan. size Wave Mono PCM 16 khz 16 Bit The storage locations for the audio files: You can find the files under <<[Drive]:\program files\kollmorgen\visualfloor\data...>> folder names The folder contains all : <<...\Templates\Audio\de>> specifications on the German audio files (1) << \Templates\Audio\en>> specifications on the English audio files (1) << \Audio\de>> << \Audio\en>> (1) The files in these folders are automatically stored during system installation. German audio files needed for a language version in this control system (2) English audio files needed for a language version in this control system (2) (2) You have to manually store the files in these folders (refer to the subsequent examples). The content of the audio files: Each file can be identified with its name and names are fixed and cannot be changed. filename <<ddaintro.wav>> <<ddaack.wav>> <<ddasel.wav>> <<ddaseldoor.wav>> <<ddaend.wav>> <<uselift.wav>> <<floor[1 max].wav>> <<door[0].wav>> <<door[1].wav>> <<lift[1 max].wav>> <<volup.wav>> <<voldown.wav>> This file contains the operating instructions for the user confirmation of the action selected confirmation of the target floor selected instructions for selecting the door side notification that the handicapped functionality is ending notification that a lift has been assigned floor designation standard door side 1 designation standard door side 2 designation designation of the assigned lift notification that the announcement volume is increased notification that the announcement volume is reduced

General routine for compiling the audio files: 1. Set up a folder under <<[Drive]:\program files\kollmorgen\visualfloor\data\>> designated <<Audio>>. 2. Regardless of the language desired, set up a folder in the <<Audio>> folder designated <<de>> for announcements in German or a folder designated <<en>> for announcements in English. 3. Copy all audio files needed from the directory in the desired language under <<[Drive]:\program files\kollmorgen\visualfloor\data\templates\audio\...>> in the new folder set up in step 2. Notes Take the aforementioned steps to supplement the audio files provided at the factory or replace them with your own announcements. If you replace existing audio files with your own announcements, always remember only to use the specified filenames and comply with the format specifications for the audio files. You can not only specify the standard announcements of the <<door[0,1].wav>> door sides that issue the same text on all floors, but also announcements for specific floors for door side 1 and/or door side 2. To use this functionality, you have to: store every announcement in a file under any name in the folder <<... Data\Audio\[de,en]>> and assign these files to the floors and door sides in the <<Audiofiles.xml>> configuration file. Example 2 describes how you set up announcements for specific floors for door sides. Examples of compiling audio files: Example 1 specifications for compiling the audio files: group with 3 lifts 5 floors door side 1 and door side 2 with standard text announcements on all floors German announcements The <<Audio\en>> folders are set up under <<[Drive]:\program files\kollmorgen\visualfloor\data\>>. How to proceed: 1. Copy the following audio files from the <<en>> folder under <<[Drive]:\program files\kollmorgen\visualfloor\data\templates\audio>> into the <<en>> folder under <<[Drive]:\program files\kollmorgen\visualfloor\data\audio>>:

Example 1 (continued): filename <<ddaintro.wav>> <<ddaack.wav>> <<ddasel.wav>> <<ddaseldoor.wav>> <<ddaend.wav>> <<uselift.wav>> filename <<floor[1].wav>>,, <<floor[5].wav>> <<door[0].wav>>* <<door[1].wav>>* <<lift[1].wav>>,, <<lift[3].wav>> <<volup.wav>> <<voldown.wav>> *The door side announcements are the same on all floors. Example 2 How to compile the audio files: group with 3 lifts 5 floors door side 1 and door side 2 with standard text announcements on floors 3-5 door side 1 and door side 2 with announcements for specific floors on floors 1 and 2 German announcements The <<Audio\en>> folders are set up under <<[Drive]:\program files\kollmorgen\visualfloor\data\>>. How to proceed: 1. Create the 4 audio files for door side announcements for specific floors (you can select any filenames). Store these files in the <<en>> folder under <<[Drive]:\program files\kollmorgen\visualfloor\data\audio>>. Here is an example: floor 1: door1-floor1.wav, door2-floor1.wav, floor 2: door1-floor2.wav, door2-floor2.wav; 2. Copy the following audio files from the <<en>> folder under <<[Drive]:\program files \Kollmorgen\VisualFloor\Data\Templates\Audio>> into the <<en>> folder under <<[Drive]:\program files\kollmorgen\visualfloor\data\audio>>: * The door side announcements are the same on floors Copy the <<Audiofiles.xml>> configuration file from the <<Templates>> folder under <<[Drive]:\program files\kollmorgen\visualfloor\data>> into the <<Data>> folder under <<[Drive]:\program files\kollmorgen\visualfloor>>
