5 What is Dialogys? Dialogys is the tool that presents RENAULT's After-Sales documentation in electronic format. Issued on DVD and by online update, it provides access to the RENAULT spare parts and technical documentation. It can also be used to create various documents such as estimates or parts requisitions. How often is data updated? If you have subscribed to online updating, all the data will be downloaded from the online update server. Weekly updating of the MR/NT XML, MD/NTd PDF, PR pricing, labour times and REACH data. Monthly updating of the PR and MOTRIO data. If you have not subscribed to online updating: Dialogys data is updated monthly via circulation of DVDs. What will the November 2014 delivery with the new Dialogys application contain (Dialogys V7.5.6 linked to the Dialogys Online project)? The following DVDs will be sent: - If the dealership updates online: DVD0, Dialogys application V If the dealership updates by DVD: DVD0, Dialogys application V7.5.6 DVD 1 (PR) DVD2/DVD3/DVD4 (MR/NT in XML and PDF format; MD; NTd; REACH data; NTi; TM; pricing) What must I install to benefit from the new functions of Dialogys V7.5.6 on a terminal that already has Dialogys installed? If the terminal is updated by DVD, the following must be installed: - DVD0 V DVDs 1, 2, 3 and 4 supplied with DVD0. What must I do if an error message is displayed on the client terminal after installing the server in V7.5.6? When opening the client terminal, the following error message is displayed: In this instance, it is imperative to install Dialogys V7.5.6 DVD0 on the client terminal where this message is displayed. 6

7 What must I do if a warning message is displayed when installing the Motrio CD? When installing the Motrio CD, the user receives the following message: In this case, you must confirm the uninstall procedure (click "YES") to uninstall the existing version on the terminal. Installation of the new version of Motrio will automatically be performed. If the user does not confirm the uninstall procedure (if he/she clicks "NO"), installation of the new Motrio CD will stop. How can I find the version number of the application installed on a terminal? The version number of the application installed on a client or standalone terminal is shown in the application's tab, under "Information système" ("System information"), "Dialogys Appli" ("Dialogys application"). To find the version number of the application installed on a server terminal, click the "Information" tab. How can I find the version number of the data (MR, NT etc.) installed on a terminal? The version number of the data installed on a client or standalone terminal is shown in the application's tab, under "Information système" ("System information"), "Dialogys Data". To find the version number of the data installed on a server terminal, click the "Information" tab and display the "Dialogys data" field. How can I find the application version number of the Dialogys server via a client terminal? From version 7.1.5, you can view the version number of the application installed on the Dialogys terminal. Simply click on the "Contact" sheet and display the "numéro de version 'Dialogys Serveur Appli'" ("Dialogys server application version number") field. 7

8 How can I find the version number of DVD1 installed on a Dialogys client or standalone terminal? From version 7.1.5, you can view the version number of DVD1 installed on a Dialogys terminal. Simply click on the "Contact" sheet and display the "numéro de version 'Dialogys data DVD1'" ("Dialogys data DVD1 version number") field. How can I find the version number of DVD1 installed on a Dialogys server? From version 7.1.5, you can view the version number of DVD1 installed on the Dialogys server. Simply click on "Information" and view the "Dialogys data DVD1" field. What must I do to take advantage of online updates? You must ensure that the terminals meet the Dialogys OnLine prerequisites (adequate download transfer rate at the dealership (see the installation guide on DVD0, in /Documents d'aide - Help documents/01- Installation)). Install the latest DVD0 (you do not need to uninstall the previous version unless your version of Dialogys predates version V6.6.6): Install a data version compatible with the online update (DVD versions 1, 2, 3 and above, less than 3 months old) You must import the Dialogys technical certificate in each terminal connecting to the Renault central update server (Dialogys server of the dealership or MONOPOCO/standalone terminal) (see the installation guide, which can be found on DVD0 under /Documents d'aide - Help documents/01- Installation). Configure each terminal connecting to the central update server (see the installation guide, which can be found on DVD0 under /Documents d'aide - Help documents/01- Installation). Tick the box labelled "Activer mise à jour en ligne" ("Activate online updates") (see the installation guide, which can be found on DVD0 under /Documents d'aide - Help documents/01- Installation). It is necessary to configure the downloading start time for the online packages ("Réseau" ("Network") tab on the server or "Heure de début de la mise à jour" ("Update start time") field in the "Tableau de bord" ("Admin Screen") tab -> "Affaire" ("Dealership")). How do I obtain my Dialogys technical certificate? To obtain your certificate, you must contact your usual RenaultNet support team. Will I need more than one certificate? Only one certificate will be issued to each dealership. You must import it onto each Dialogys terminal connected to the Renault central server. 8

9 How do I install my Renault Net Dialogys technical certificate? - For a server, go to the "Certificat" ("Certificate") tab and click "Importer un certificat" ("Import a certificate"), select the certificate and enter the password - For a standalone terminal, go to "Tableau de Bord" ("Admin Screen"), then select the "Certificat" ("Certificate") tab and click "Importer un certificat" ("Import a certificate"); select the certificate and enter the password You can also consult the installation guide on each DVD0 (see the installation guide found on DVD0 under /Documents d'aide - Help documents/01- Installation). Who should I contact to configure Dialogys online? For the primary network: Contact your Information Systems Manager or the contact person for your country. For the secondary network: Contact your DMS editor (or else the DMS editor for your primary network). What is the URL for the updating server? Enter: How long will it take me to download? Maximum of three hours per day. Can I set the download start time? The update start time can be configured in Dialogys: - For a standalone terminal, by going to "Tableau de board" ("Admin Screen") -> "Affaire" ("Dealership") -> "Heure de début de la mise à jour" ("Update start time"). The update finish time is automatically calculated by Dialogys (update start time + 3 hrs). - For a server terminal, by going to the "Réseau" ("Network") tab and double-clicking in the "Heure de début de la mise à jour" ("Update start time") field. The update finish time is automatically calculated by Dialogys (update start time + 3 hrs). Can I force an update? You can force an update as follows: - For a standalone terminal, go to "Tableau de bord" ("Admin Screen") -> "Affaire" ("Dealership") -> "Forcer la mise à jour" ("Force update"). - For a server terminal, go to the "Réseau" ("Network") tab and click the "Mise à jour" ("Update") button. 9

10 At what time is Dialogys updated? Updates are performed over a 3 hour period running from the update start time to the update finish time. The update start time may be set by the user or may be selected at random within the given timeframe. What volume of data is transferred during the download? Dialogys downloads data packs of up to 50 MB. Depending on bandwidth, several packets may be downloaded during the 3-hour download period. If it is not possible to download all available packs at once, Dialogys will download the remaining packs the following day. The packs are installed the day after the packs are downloaded (at the update start time) Will I see a message informing me that an update has started? You will see the following message: "Dialogys va être arrêté pour installer les mises à jour" ("Dialogys will be closed to install updates"), indicating that Dialogys has completed the data pack download and will start the data installation procedure. Will I see a message informing me that an update has finished? You will see the following message: "La durée de téléchargement est écoulée. Fin de la mise à jour" ("The download duration has been reached. End of update"), indicating that the download has finished for the day. Dialogys displays the message "Mise à jour impossible. Vous devez installer l ensemble des DVD de données. Veuillez contacter votre support informatique" ("Update not possible. You must install the whole set of data DVDs. Please contact IT support"). What must I do? This message indicates that version N+1 no longer exists on the download server. To update your terminal, you must install DVD1 + DVD2 + DVD3 + DVD4 of a data version that is less than 90 days old and you must check your terminal settings (certificate, Internet connection, dealership opening time, dealership closing time, download start time). 10

11 Is all data updated online? The following data is available for online updating with Dialogys version V7.5.6: - MR/ NTm in XML and PDF format - MD/NTd in pdf format - PR pricing - Labour times - REACH - PR data - Motrio data I have activated online updating. How do I know if I have downloaded an update? Check to see if there are any online update packages ("MOL" files) in the packages folder (C:\Program Files\Dialogys\data\packages). MOL files have the following format: MOL_FR_fr_ _1. NB: FR = application installation country fr = application installation language = the date the MOL file was made available on the central server _1 = the MOL number; there may be several MOL numbers (_1, _2, _n) If the package folder is empty, check the majonline log file (C:\Program Files\Dialogys\data\log) to see if the online update data (MOL file) has downloaded. If the MOL file has been successfully downloaded and installed on the terminal, this will be visible in the Dialogys contact sheet (DIALOGYS DATA line). Note: There will not necessarily be new documents to download each day. I have activated online updating. How do I know if my settings are right? Check that you have correctly installed the technical certificate: For a server, go to the "Certificat" ("Certificate") tab and click on "Importer un certificat" ("Import a certificate), select the certificate and enter the password. For a standalone terminal, go to "Tableau de Bord" ("Admin screen") then select the "Certificat" ("Certificate") tab and click on "Importer un certificat" ("Import a certificate"); select the certificate and enter the password. Check that the "Utiliser la mise à jour en ligne" ("Use online updating") box is enabled: For a server, go to the "Préférences" ("Preferences") tab. For a standalone terminal, go to "Tableau de Bord" ("Admin screen") then select the "Préférences" ("Preferences") tab. Run a connection test: For a server, go to the "Réseau" ("Network") tab and click "Test connexion mise à jour" ("Test update connection"); a window will appear saying "Connexion A mise à jour établie" ("Update connection A established"). 11

12 For a standalone terminal, go to "Tableau de Bord" ("Admin screen") then the "Affaire" ("Dealership") tab and click on "Test connexion mise à jour" ("Test update connection"); a window will appear saying "Connexion A mise à jour établie" ("Update connection A established"). I have activated online updating but my connection test isn't working. Check that the URL for the update server is correct: Check your network connection: Using Internet Explorer, go to or another website. Check that you do not need to enter a proxy address and port. Check your connections and your computer. I have activated online updating. How do I enter a proxy address and port? For a server, go to the "Réseau" ("Network") tab and in "Paramètre pour MAJOnline" ("Online update settings") complete the "Adresse du Proxy" ("Proxy address") and "Port" fields. For a standalone terminal, go to the "Tableau de Bord" ("Admin Screen"), then the "Affaire" ("Dealership") tab and enter the "Adresse IP du Proxy Local" ("Local proxy IP address") and "Port du Proxy Local" ("Local proxy port"). I have activated online updating. Should I leave the Dialogys application running overnight? From version onwards, data downloads can be performed during the day and, consequently, it is no longer necessary to leave the terminal switched on all the time. However, to do this, the download time settings must be configured to take place within the dealership's opening hours. Will I still receive DVD 1 and DVD 2/DVD 3/DVD 4 monthly? If you have not activated online updating: All the DVDs must be installed each month If you have activated online updating: All data will be available on the online update server; DVDs will no longer be sent every month. Can I sort Dialogys users on the server? With version you have the option to sort users on the Dialogys server. 12

13 Can I print an estimate without the PR numbers? With version you can print estimates without PR numbers. For standalone and MonoPoCo terminals you need to go to the Tableau du bord ("Admin screen"), "Affaire" ("Dealership") tab and click on the "Impression des références dans les estimations" ("Print part numbers in estimates") line. There are three available options: - YES: the part numbers will be printed - NO: the part numbers will no longer be printed - Question: Dialogys will ask you each time if you want to print the part numbers For client/server installations, configuration is carried out on the server for all client terminals in the dealership. Go to the "Préférences" ("Preferences") tab and then the "Configuration de l affaire" ("Dealership configuration") to carry out configuration. Double click on the "Impression des références dans les estimations" ("Print part numbers in estimates") line. There are three available options: - YES: the part numbers will be printed - NO: the part numbers will no longer be printed - Question: Dialogys will ask you each time if you want to print the part numbers When using a terminal that is connected to the DMS, can I save an estimate straight to the DMS? With version the estimate will be saved straight to the DMS. The default save option has changed from "Dialogys" to "DMS". Can I use Dialogys online updating for my CLIP terminals? Yes, CLIP terminals may be activated for online updating in the same way as standalone terminals. To download update data, connect the CLIP terminal in client mode on the dealership's Dialogys server. The standalone version of the CLIP terminal will need to be uninstalled and reinstalled as a client terminal. Can I run Dialogys V7.5.6 on Windows Vista, Windows 7 and on a Macintosh with an Intel processor? Dialogys V7.5.6 can be used with Windows Vista, Windows 7 (32 or 64 bit) and Windows 2008 R2. No applications have been designed for Macintosh platforms since the end of The user does not see the button appear on the screen. There are 2 cases where the button does not appear on screen: 1. The screen resolution is insufficient: The user must modify the screen resolution and ensure that it is higher than or equal to 1024x

14 2. For a dealership without online updating: The complete set of DVDs has not been installed and the TMs are therefore not installed. You must quit the application, install the complete set of DVDs (see the installation guide found on DVD0 under /Documents d'aide - Help documents/01- Installation) and then restart the application. The PR pages and exploded views are not legible and are shown in pale blue. Your display settings are not optimised for Dialogys. You need to increase the number of colours displayed by your screen. Depending on the configuration used, you must select a different resolution by going to your control panel, then Display, "Settings" tab, Colour quality. 14

15 What languages are available? The different languages available for the Dialogys application and the after sales data are shown below, although the language used in the application is conditional upon the country selected when installing. 15

16 What type of support is available for this application? Help for Dialogys V7.5.6 is the same as that already available. Dialogys is used via the Renault SPoT or ACE/Citrix working environment (Renault head office and national subsidiaries) 2 options: - data error problem: Dialogys gives you the option of sending us a contact sheet. Run Dialogys, click on the Contact tab, enter the details of the problem as indicated in the second box, create a screenshot and send the information to: support.dialogys@renault.com. - application problem: please contact Dialogys has been installed using DVDs: Answer to be given to the network as support: 2 options: - data error problem: Dialogys gives you the option of sending us a contact sheet. Run Dialogys, click on the Contact tab, enter the details of the problem as indicated in the second box, print out the sheet and fax it to the number shown in the first box. - problem with application or installation of Dialogys: refer to the Dialogys help documents on DVD0: "\Documents d aide" ("\Help documents"). If the suggested procedures do not resolve your problem, you should contact your local IT support or DMS editor. You are support or an editor and you wish to escalate an applications problem or need additional information: Go to the Chipre or OVSD tool, create an incident and escalate it to the METIER_DOC_TECH_APV group (unless you have symptoms sheets; consult the possible escalations and choose the most appropriate).
