1 Overview Banner Document Management Suite (BDMS) is the baseline Banner module for imaging and document management. SunGard Higher Education and EMC Documentum, a division of EMC Corporation, have formed a partnership to provide an integrated document management and imaging solution for Banner, based on the ApplicationXtender Content Management platform. Banner Document Management Suite integrates the ApplicationXtender suite with Banner administrative solutions to make imaging, document management, enterprise workflow, output management, portable document collections, and storage management options available for both Banner and non-banner users. Purpose of the document This document is for BDMS users who want to upgrade to the latest release of ApplicationXtender, version 6.5. The document lists the hardware and software requirements, provides the upgrade steps, and details any known issues and defects associated with the upgrade process. This document does not cover the BDMS installation instructions and related information. For BDMS related information, refer to the Banner Document Management Suite Install Guide, the Banner Document Management Suite Hardware and Software Requirements, and the other documentation for the applicable version of BDMS. If you are upgrading to ApplicationXtender 6.5 as part of a BDMS install, such as BDMS 8.3, the BDMS Install Guide for that upgrade references ApplicationXtender version You do not have to upgrade to ApplicationXtender first and then upgrade to ApplicationXtender In this case, where any instructions in the BDMS Install Guide reference ApplicationXtender , you would instead use ApplicationXtender Some of the information contained in this document is compiled from EMC and other partner sources. Version-specific updates may be available from SunGard Higher Education partners. January 2011 Banner Document Management Suite 1-1 Overview

New features The upgrade to ApplicationXtender 6.5 provides the following new features and functionality to BDMS users: Ability to move pages within a document (first, last, move up, and move down). Ability to copy pages out of an indexed document into a batch for re-indexing. The pages can also be moved into a batch in a different application. This removes the need for exporting and importing pages just to fix issues. Ability to rotate images and save a rotated image as a new version of a page. Providing SSN field masking for users who do not have modify index privileges. Ability to delegate user security maintenance. User Security Maintenance is a new check box that is available in each application when setting up security. Previously, the security maintenance privilege could only be granted at the Global Profile level. Ability to use Secure Paths for image write paths. ApplicationXtender Desktop is a new node that has been provided in AX Admin where you can configure global credentials for AppXtender Desktop. You can then create a Secure Path in the Paths node. A new way to display thumbnails. AX uses Silverlight now instead of Java. You can display the pages in a contact sheet format instead of a column on the left-hand side. In the thumbnail, contact sheet view, you can also add, drag, move and change the order of multiple pages. For a complete list of enhancements, defect resolutions, and known issues with ApplicationXtender, see the ApplicationXtender 6.0 and 6.5 Release Guides. 1-2 Banner Document Management Suite January 2011 Overview

3 Installing ApplicationXtender 6.5 This chapter provides the steps to perform the upgrade to ApplicationXtender 6.5. Initial install steps Step 1 Uninstall earlier versions of ApplicationXtender Warning The upgrade process will replace the web.config file that is located in your Website's AX Web Access folder, which is typically C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\AppXtender\Web.config. Back up the web.config file before uninstalling ApplicationXtender, or make a note of modifications you have made to the parameters in this file, for example, the UDLFieldRefreshRate, WXCryptoKeyPassword, or SSBSUPERUSERS group parameter values. Do not replace the new web.config file after the 6.5 upgrade with the back up file from the previous version of AX. Use the previous version of the file as a reference to re-apply your modifications to the new version of the web.config file created by the 6.5 version of AX. Before uninstalling the earlier version of AX, write down the Database alias(es) used to configure a Data Source. 1. Uninstall ApplicationXtender Web Access and all ApplicationXtender Web Access components. This includes the Rendering Server, the Luminis integration component (optional install), and the Web Services (optional install). 2. Uninstall QuickScan Pro (if previously installed). 3. 27 3. Register licenses on the ApplicationXtender License Server as follows: ApplicationXtender product licenses are provided in the form of one or more license files depending on the ApplicationXtender product. A license file, which has a.lic file extension, is a text file containing information on the product features and user limits defined by the license. ApplicationXtender license files must be added to the License Server for the licensing to be recognized by ApplicationXtender products On the computer where the License Server is installed, navigate to the LicenseServer folder. The default location is C:\Program Files\XtenderSolutions\Content Management\LicenseServer Add the ApplicationXtender license files to the LicenseServer folder Navigate to the Services console and start the following services: ApplicationXtender License Server EMC ELM Service If the services are already running, stop and restart them. Step 3 Install ApplicationXtender Administrator (Windows Server) The AppXtender Administrator is a part of the ApplicationXtender Desktop install. For this step, you must work on a Windows Server machine to install the AppXtender Administrator. You can use a Terminal Server (Remote Desktop Connection) to perform this install, but we recommend that the install media is local to the Windows Server and not accessed over a network. If you are installing ApplicationXtender Administrator remotely, run the remote desktop connection in the console mode. Refer to the EMC ApplicationXtender Core Components 6.5 Administrator s Guide, for information on configuring the Administrator Console Client. The server machine must have Oracle client connectivity. The Oracle/Banner database to which the AX Administrator connects must be accessible through this Oracle client. Use tnsping.exe or tnsping80.exe within a Command (DOS) window to test your Oracle connectivity. Resolve any problems before continuing with the install. The Oracle Instant Client is not supported. January 2011 Banner Document Management Suite 3-3 Installing ApplicationXtender 6.5

This Windows Server machine with AX Administrator does not require additional EMC ApplicationXtender components. It can contain additional AX components to consolidate resources and reduce the number of Windows servers that are required. These additional components could include any of the following: ApplicationXtender Web Access.NET Server ApplicationXtender Web Access Rendering Server License Server ApplicationXtender Web Services See the ApplicationXtender Web Access Deployment - General Considerations section of the BDMS Install Guide for more information on machine utilization and requirements. 1. Log in as Administrator or as a member of the Administrators group on your Windows Server to install AX Administrator. 2. Run the setup.exe file extracted from the from the Desktop_ file. 3. Follow the installation instructions in the Setup section of the EMC ApplicationXtender Desktop 6.5 Installation Guide. 4. Select Administrator as the Installation Type. This installs all core ApplicationXtender components, the ApplicationXtender Administrator utility, and the Application Generator tool. Ensure that you run the scripts detailed in the next step, step 4, before launching AX Administrator for the first time. 3-4 Banner Document Management Suite January 2011 Installing ApplicationXtender 6.5

Step 4 Run the scripts for required table updates You must run two scripts for required BDMS table updates. The scripts are located in the bdmsscripts_ zip file. Connect to the database and execute the scripts as follows in SQL *Plus: sqlplus general/password start give_grants.sql sqlplus otgmgr/password start edraeapps_ sql sqlplus otgmgr/password start edraecfgu_ sql sqlplus general/password start revoke_grants.sql If you run an AppGen/DBCHECK after upgrading to ApplicationXtender 6.5, the entire table structure is rebuilt and this could involve a considerable delay during processing. Step 5 Configure the data source using the Data Source Selector tool A data source is the means by which AppXtender accesses data from a database, in this case, the Banner database. Information that is stored in the database includes application definitions, security information, document index information, and pointers to document locations as well as Banner data used in the integrations between the Banner database and ApplicationXtender. Complete the following steps to specify a default data source to be used by AX applications: 1. From the Start menu, select Programs > ApplicationXtender Desktop> Data Source Selector. You should see your existing data source. 2. Highlight the data source name. 3. Click Set as Default to make that data source the default data source and to make it visible to ApplicationXtender applications. January 2011 Banner Document Management Suite 3-5 Installing ApplicationXtender 6.5

4. Click Apply to accept the changes. 5. Click Ok to exit the Data Source Selector tool. If you are installing ApplicationXtender on a new server, run the ApplicationXtender Administrator and you will be prompted to set up a Data Source to point to an existing Database. For more information, refer to the EMC ApplicationXtender Core Components 6.5 Administrator s Guide. Step 6 Install the INB - AX Bridge (optional) Communication between Internet Native Banner and ApplicationXtender is facilitated by the INB-AX Bridge program. Install the INB-AX Bridge for all users who launch ApplicationXtender from an Internet Native Banner environment. The INB-AX Bridge requires the Microsoft.NET Framework. Download the.net install files from: The recommended version is 3.5 SP1. 1. Extract and run the Setup.msi file from the bdmsinbaxbridge.zip file. 2. Specify the install path. 3. Once INB-AX Bridge is installed, the INBAXBridge.htm file is added to the folder. Copy this file to a Web server that is accessible to Banner users. This file redirects the BDMS function calls to the bridge program running on the user's computer. The URL for this file must be specified on the EXAINST form for the integration to work. See the Banner Document Management Suite Administration Guide for additional information on EXAINST. The inbaxbridge.exe is run each time a user initiates an Banner Document Management Suite session from an Internet Native Banner session (user preference settings apply). The program is active in the System Tray and remains active till closed by a user or a system restart. Step 7 Configure additional desktop machines An enterprise rollout of a data source is best accomplished by creating a workstation s settings.axs file on an administrative workstation, and then distributing that.axs file to all client workstations that will be installing ApplicationXtender. For information and best practices on rolling out AX client/server software to a large number of desktops, see the Unattended Setup and the Saving and Loading Settings sections of the ApplicationXtender Desktop Installation Guide. 3-6 Banner Document Management Suite January 2011 Installing ApplicationXtender 6.5

Install ApplicationXtender Web Access.NET 6.5 (Optional) This section contains instructions for installing the Microsoft.NET-based ApplicationXtender Web Access product (if licensed). It is important to note the following: One or more Rendering Servers use a single cache in which rendered files are stored for re-use. For small environments, you can install the Rendering Server on the same computer as the ApplicationXtender Web Access Server. Larger sites will require one or more Rendering Servers on separate computers. For more information, see the Configuring ApplicationXtender Rendering Server section in the ApplicationXtender Web Access.NET Administrator s Guide. A session cache is used by AX Web Access.NET to track browser session data. It should be located on the AX Web Access.NET server to enhance performance. For an AX Web Access.NET deployment, this would translate to the Windows server that contains AX Web Access. Step 1 Create the ApplicationXtender Web Access Session Cache folder Create a Session cache on the AX Web Access.NET server. See the Configuring ApplicationXtender Rendering Server Cache Settings section of the ApplicationXtender Web Access.NET Administrator s Guide. This folder may already exist, unless you are moving to a new server. Make a note of the folder path as you will need to enter it in subsequent steps. If you are moving to a new server, ensure that only the WX impersonation account has full access to the Cache Session folders. Step 2 Create the ApplicationXtender Web Access Rendering Server Cache folder Create a Rendering Server Cache on the computer where the Rendering Server is installed. If you have more than one Rendering Server, choose one of the Rendering Server computers to host the Rendering Server Cache. See the ApplicationXtender Rendering Server Hardware and Software Requirements Overview section of the ApplicationXtender Web Access.NET Administrator s Guide. This folder may already exist, unless you are moving to a new server. Make a note of the folder path as you will need to enter it in subsequent steps. There should be only one Rendering Server Cache. If you are moving to a new server, ensure that only the WX impersonation account has full access to the Cache Session folders. January 2011 Banner Document Management Suite 3-7 Installing ApplicationXtender 6.5

Step 3 Install ApplicationXtender Web Access.NET Install ApplicationXtender Web Access.NET as follows: 1. Run the setup.exe file from the WebAccessNET_ \AppXtender Web Access.NET install folder. 2. Select the default Website as your target Web application. Content Management Root is where ApplicationXtender was installed and cannot be modified. 3. Click Next and then click Next again. 4. Click Finish. For more information on installing ApplicationXtender Web Access.NET, see the Installing and Registering AppXtender Web Access Components section of the ApplicationXtender Web Access.NET Administrator s Guide. Step 4 Add configuration settings for AX Web Access You can add required configuration settings for AX Web Access in two ways - manually, or using the ApplicationXtender.NET Wizard. Add configuration settings for AX Web Access using the ApplicationXtender.NET Wizard 1. Run the AX Administration utility from the Start menu under Programs > ApplicationXtender Desktop > ApplicationXtender Administrator. 2. Login as SYSOP. 3. Select Tools >ApplicationXtender.NET Wizard to start the configuration process. 4. Select the Web Access Wizard and use the wizard to configure the AX Web Access.NET system. Complete all the steps as indicated by the wizard. Manually add AppXtender Admin configuration settings for AppXtender Web Access Run the AX Administration utility from the Start menu under Programs > ApplicationXtender Desktop > Administrator. 2. Login as SYSOP. 3-8 Banner Document Management Suite January 2011 Installing ApplicationXtender 6.5

3. Select the ApplicationXtender Web node in the left hand side frame. The sub-nodes are displayed. Make the following changes to the nodes as specified: 3.1. ApplicationXtender Web Access/Setup/Global Credentials Account/User Account node: Click Setup Type in the Windows domain impersonation account username and password. See the Accounts and Rights Required for Resource Authentication Accounts section of the EMC ApplicationXtender 6.5 Concepts and Planning Guide for details on setting up the domain account. The Windows account is used by ApplicationXtender Web Access to access files across your Windows networking system. Ensure that this domain user account has special Windows privileges as specified in the EMC ApplicationXtender 6.5 Concepts and Planning Guide. This account is also referred to as the WX Impersonation Account AppXtender Web Access/Setup/Session Management/Session Cache Path node: Click Browse Using the UNC path convention, enter the Session Cache Path to the cache you created in Step 1 Create the ApplicationXtender Web Access Session Cache folder on page Select Global User Credentials in the Authentication Method section Click OK Click OK in the New Path dialog box. January 2011 Banner Document Management Suite 3-9 Installing ApplicationXtender 6.5

3.3. AppXtender Web Access/Security node: Clear the Users may access the server using NTLM Authentication check box. This modifies other check boxes as well. 4. Select the Servers node in the left hand side frame. The sub-nodes are displayed. Make the following changes to the nodes as specified: Servers/Rendering Server node: The Rendering Server is required for most AX Web Access installations. A Rendering Server is not required for a BDMS site if an AX Web Access.NET deployment does not use thin browser clients, thumbnail rendering, or services In the Login section of the page, click Setup Type in the Windows domain account username and password. See the Accounts and Rights Required for Resource Authentication Accounts section of the ApplicationXtender Concepts and Planning Guide for details on setting up the domain account. The Windows account is used by ApplicationXtender Web Access to access files across your Windows networking system. This account is also referred to as the WX Impersonation Account Click OK Using the UNC path convention, enter the Rendering Server Cache Path to the cache you created in Step 2 Create the ApplicationXtender Web Access Rendering Server Cache folder on page Click OK to acknowledge the new path. The Rendering Server uses two database tables. The AX Administrator utility creates these tables in the first database that it accesses. These tables can also be created in an entirely different database. For more information, see the EMC ApplicationXtender Web Access.NET 6.5 Administrator's Guide Select the Banner or Oracle database as the database that the Rendering Server should use for cache management Banner Document Management Suite January 2011 Installing ApplicationXtender 6.5

4.7. Click Select and establish the data source as follows: Use OTGMGR as your User Name. Enter the Oracle password for OTGMGR. Select the Allow Saving Password check box to have the system always use those database credentials when the Rendering Server needs to see its tables Click OK. You can leave the Schema field blank. 5. Save and exit the AX Administrator utility. Step 5 Update the Web.config file on ApplicationXtender Web Access for single login The Web.config file is installed during the ApplicationXtender Web Access.NET installation. This file is located in your Website's AX Web Access folder, which is typically C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\AppXtender\Web.config. To enable single login between Banner and AX Web Access, a password must exist on both the Banner system and the AX Web Access system. The Banner copy of the password is contained in the EXBINST table. This table is maintained by the BDMS INB form EXAINST. Additional settings, including the timeout figure for Single Login credentials (key WxCryptoCredExpireInterval) and the maximum file size setting and upload timeout value, are also stored in the Web.config file. The defaults are 10 minutes of timeout for Single Login credentials, and 10 MB maximum filesize in a maximum of 10 minutes for uploads. You can leave the defaults in place. See the Banner Document Management Suite Administrator Guide for information about resetting the Single Login key from its delivered value. Modify the Web.config file as follows: 1. Open the Web.config file in an editor such as pad. 2. Locate the following line of code: <add key="wxcryptokeypassword" value="password"/> 3. Change the value of password to the password you are using at your site. This is the same value you enter in the EXAINST form. The password value is case sensitive. January 2011 Banner Document Management Suite 3-11 Installing ApplicationXtender 6.5

4. Set a value for the UDLFieldRefreshRate. This value affects the frequency that AppXtender Web Access drop-down list values are refreshed. The value for the UDLFieldRefreshRate is initially set to zero (0). This value affects the frequency that AppXtender Web Access drop-down list values are refreshed. Many fields of a document's index structure are defined as drop-down lists. A value of "0" means that the system will load drop-down list value sets once at the startup of the AppXtender Web Access server, and not refresh them again until the AppXtender Web Access server is stopped and restarted. A positive integer value (indicating an interval in minutes) permits the AppXtender Web Access server to periodically update the drop-down list value sets without restarting the AppXtender Web Access server. This permits tighter synchronization of values between the User-Defined List tables (UL%) and the data displayed to the user as values within the dropdown list. Since Banner data (such as Document Types) should typically be in tight synchronization with the data that users see in AppXtender Web Access, SunGard Higher Education recommends a value of approximately 5-10 minutes for this refresh rate. You can adjust this value anywhere from 1 (1 minute interval) to 0 (infinite interval). 5. Review the following settings and change as necessary for your site: customerrors If you utilize the Finance Fund/Org security or the HR security feature in BDMS, then set this value to 'Off', so that a user that does not have security clearance to view a document will see the full descriptive error message. AxWebServicesDocumentPointer 6. Save the changes to the Web.config file. 7. Reset IIS on the AX Web Access server Banner Document Management Suite January 2011 Installing ApplicationXtender 6.5

Step 6 Install the ApplicationXtender Web Access Rendering Server The location(s) of the Rendering Server(s) depends on your selected architecture. If you have the Windows Server resources, install the Rendering Server(s) on a different machine from the ApplicationXtender Web Access.NET server or ApplicationXtender Utility Services. For more information, see the Installing the ApplicationXtender Rendering Server section of the ApplicationXtender Web Access.NET Administrator s Guide. If you are installing the AX Web Access Rendering Server on a separate machine, you must run the Component Registration Wizard on this server. For more information, see Step 8 Run the Component Registration Wizard on page Run the setup.exe file located in the RenderServer_ folder. Depending on what other ApplicationXtender components are already installed on the Rendering Server computer, the destination folder may not be configurable. 2. Click Next and then click Next again. 3. Click Yes to enable Garbage Service collection. 4. Click Install. 5. Click Finish. Step 7 Install ASPNET Scriptmaps to the Default Web Site Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) are installed by default when you install Windows. However, since the option to install IIS can be disabled during Windows installation, you may need to install IIS separately prior to using AppXtender Web.NET. If you install IIS after installing the Microsoft.NET framework, you need to run the aspnet_regiis utility to install ASPNET scriptmaps to the default IIS web site. Warning If the ASPNET scriptmaps are not installed on the web site where your AppXtender Web content is installed (typically the default web site), users will not be able to log into your AppXtender Web Access web site. January 2011 Banner Document Management Suite 3-13 Installing ApplicationXtender 6.5

To install ASPNET scriptmaps to the default web site using aspnet_regiis: 1. Select Start> Run and type cmd to open the Command Prompt. 2. Change directories to the directory where the Microsoft.NET Framework is installed. For example, if the.net Framework is installed in the C:\WINNT\Microsoft.NET\Framework\vx.x directory, type the following: cd C:\WINNT\Microsoft.NET\Framework\vx.x. 3. At the command prompt, type aspnet_regiis -i -enable to install ASPNET scriptmaps to the default web site and enable the scriptmaps. Step 8 Run the Component Registration Wizard Run the Component Registration Wizard on the servers on which any of the following components are installed: ApplicationXtender Web Access.NET Rendering Server ApplicationXtender Web Services (if AX Web Services are installed) The Component Registration Wizard is added to the list of programs when any of the listed components are installed. The Component Registration Wizard must be run even after any configuration changes to any of the servers on which the listed components are present. 1. Run the Component Registration Wizard from the Start menu under Programs > ApplicationXtender Desktop > Component Registration. 2. Click Next. You see a list of all installed ApplicationXtender Web Access components on that machine. If a component is installed, it must be registered. 3. Select ApplicationXtender Web Access Web Server and click Next. 4. Enter an optional component description and click Next. 5. Select the Run Component Registration Wizard again? check box. 6. Click Finish. 7. Click Next. 8. Select Rendering Server and click Next. 9. Restart IIS Banner Document Management Suite January 2011 Installing ApplicationXtender 6.5
