5 The Major Announcements First, Windows 10 will be released July 29 th in mass to the public. For many of us already running Windows 7 or above, we see a new Window icon on our taskbar to reserve our free upgrade. The free upgrade is available for 12 months

17 The Major Announcements First, Windows Server vnext will be released in early 2016 (Server 2016) Not released this year with the corresponding client OS Windows 10 Microsoft has been reorganized by Satya Nadella, putting the Server and System Center teams together (previously, the Server team was more closely aligned with the Windows client team). The Azure team is also working closely with the Server team in an internal open source model

A real core server, small footprint, full functional server Managed by PowerShell and remote web-based tools Calls WMI and PowerShell remotely Works with a number of platforms, including "Chef, PHP, Nginx, Python 3.5, Node.js, GO, Redis, MySQL, OpenSSL, Java (OpenJDK), Ruby (2.1.5) and SQLite," Chef users can build on top of Nano Server. Chef makes solutions for automating server management.
